What an incredible twist! James pretending to be in a coma after overhearing his wife's betrayal was genius. The story is full of suspense and drama, from his escape with the help of a kind nurse to confronting his wife and her lover. It's a powerful reminder of resilience and the importance of genuine relationships. I love how the story ends on a hopeful note, with James finding true allies and possibly love. What an emotional rollercoaster! 😮
What an irony, I am at the hospital for test. Between them I decided to listen to the story. It made me smile and made me forget why I am here. Thank you for sharing it.
Lol i really liked the story people are so cold hearted when all they want is money. It doesnt say he was abusive. And he even cooks bacon & eggs thank you a very nice read
I know about being in Intensive Care. You are never alone. There is one nurse to one patient. If one nurse needs a toilet break, a colleague will take care of two patients for a short time. The idea of waking up and no one being there is not true in my experience. Still it doesn’t claim to be anything but a story. It stuffed up though when it said he was vegetarian but had bacon for breakfast! 😂
He was a vegetarian that didn’t eat meat, yet he prepared bacon and eggs for breakfast. If it had just been eggs I’d think Oh lacto Oval veggies. But Bacon? No, not even a veg that sometimes eats eggs and drinks milk. Someone is not doing their homework before writing.
@@jizelleroderique7625 In the story, the guy is described as a vegetarian. Then right after, it describes him cooking a healthy breakfast of bacon, eggs, and orange juice. Not vegetarian.
I'm an atheist and everything goes wonderful for me without any inner power other than my spirits, which I trust in. Vegan only, Humanity, and Great Love for all.❤ If you Walk the path of peace and Love you don't need a God to control you. I'm gifted with the power of control over myself.
I worked in medicine for many years. The last sense to go and the 1st to return is hearing. I remember one patient telling me she heard the nurses talking about her blood pressure, and she attempted to scream "Call my doctor" but she couldn't move. I have also heard otger patients recount such stories. I have always been careful about what l said after hearing that."
Correct, I was on medical field for over 12yrs. I know this to be Very True,So watch what you say as your Loved one is Departing. Say Sweet Nice thing's Only!,just sayn.
Sure as heck looks like him. I can't think of any movie like this story. It makes you wonder. It's like he's doing some tiny movie, but why?! Just for the heck of it?
I've seen a few comments critiquing pronunciation, grammar & punctuation etc - This channel's pronunciation is EXPONENTIALLY BETTER than any other channel I've listened to. Even live readers screw up some of the simplest words, not to mention easy names. **** There's no thick accents **** ennunciation is clear & crisp **** reading speed isn't to slow or fast, providing a nice smoith rhythm for a relaxing listen - In regards to grammar, I noticed a few times the grammar was even corrected by the reader. - punctuation; REALLY?!? Isn't the whole idea of this type of channel to LISTEN instead of reading it urself? (Will my shorthand get blasted too now?) - the story themes r even much different than most other channels If I have any suggestions, it would be to have differing story lengths. Not everyone has a solid 50+ minutes to commit to a story. I'm the type that doesn't like having to take a break mid-story. If I wasn't, I'd choose novels instead of short stories. If the stories become shorter, I would definitely become a daily listener. Maybe just 1 more suggestion? I noticed some titles were a little jumbled. A bit clearer title if possible? Either way, I'm subscribing & will listen whenever I have to time to listen to a full story. Thanx & please keep posting! Cheers
It is an odd statement, I agree. But maybe it was a vegetarian bacon and eggs like those powdered eggs? I don't know, lol. But, if it was maybe the writer should have said so.
Lol, well at least they have the best reader's voice I've heard on these type of stories. I think unknown models or actors would have been more effective, at the very least, less distracting/incongruous.
It's not surprising sometimes when a spouse is so greedy that even stayed the accident or the demise of the behalf. But there are still good hearted people that exist like Emma, the nurse, Andrew and Connor. Moral lesson learned, sometimes listen to your gut feeling.
He was in ICU.A single bed and no nurse? Spent over 2 months in an ICU. Over 20 beds in the note unit not bed and 1 nurse per 2 beds 24/7 plus a couple extra in case 1 needs to go. Vitals taken every 30 minutes and no phones allowed as may interfere with electronics. Would never ever leave a patient unattended..Must be a 3rd world. Country or US where profit outweighs common sense or safety.
Thank you for this fantastic, wonderful story. Could it be shown on television. It was incredible and would be helpful for people to understand and sort out problems ❤🎉😊
I know it’s difficult to understand but there are many different types of vegetarian diets. It’s a little frustrating trying to keep up with all the differences.
There is a difference between a vegan and a vegetarian. A vegan will not eat anything that comes from an animal .. eggs, bacon, milk, etc but a vegetarian will eat certain meats like bacon, chicken, fish, but no red meat. My DIL is a vegetarian and loves bacon and chicken and seafood but does not eat red meat. As for the story ... I truly hope that this James got a lawyer to come and see him first to ensure that his evil wife didn't change the will, so he can ensure that she is not the recipient of anything, plus hire a PI in order to gather evidence of her cheating and treating the restaurant employees like dirt. That administrator would be fired in a milli-second as he's also perhaps the lover. Hmm?

Beautiful story worth remembering! Tnx to d author! It's so inspiring i really love it! Wanting to hear and read more stories like this! Blessed day to all!
I had the opposite experience at school. My Dad was dying of brain cancer - I lived with my Gramma , God bless her. She had nothing except a big heart. Since I had no one to defend me and was poor I became the target of a particularly nasty school system. I was a teenage girl and my bangs were giving me acne so I wanted them to grow out. I sat in the office all day everyday until I found myself in a reform school. My Gramma had no way to visit , I was with girls that burned down their houses to kill their families, girls that had stabbed people and had to say I was there for not cutting my hair !! Long story short - I worked my butt off and got a good job at IBM. By then the nastiest office lady was a low paid bank teller - it was mean but I didn't get direct deposit just so I could walk in that bank every Monday and have her cash my check ... about 4 times what hers was. She didn't how much overtime. I worked to get that much. Mean or not I'd do it again. Karma is a bitch ♡
Big difference between vegan and vegetarian. Vegans do not use or eat any by products of animals. Vegetarians usually do not, but can use eggs, milk, ect.
Is he in a clinic or hospital and how did she think to leave with medications? She is not 1 a pharmacist, 2 a doctor or nurse practitioner, 3 and likely doesn't have access to lore medications than those on her locked and highly secure cart. Poor support for this part of the storyline. They used to have medicine rooms but they have locked carts with tight controls and inventory of medications on the medications carts now. The story may be 20 years old. I don't know. Even then there were medicine carts and the pharmacists in hospitals were well trained to avoid overdose of medications being possible.
