I fail to comprehend why so many people, especially fans, are disappointed with this single. Yes, it does have a more pop radio appeal to it, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's selling out. I just think he's trying to expand his fan base and is evolving in terms of style, music and artistic persona, which I have no problem with. Just because an artist is aiming for mainstream radio, does not necessarily mean they are diluting their sound or art form. For example, look at Ed Sheeran. He has become very much mainstream but he has been able to do that while still remaining the same artist as before. He's only grown not regressed and that's the same case with The Weeknd.

My brother discovered weeknd before he went big. I listened to him thinking “HOW is he not famous yet??” Literally, maybe 4 months later, the 50 shades of grey movie came out, with his song. I was like well ITS ABOUT TIME. Also as others have said, I LOVE how similar he sounds to Michael Jackson! If MJ was around right now, this is what his music would sound like. ❤

Takes me back to my senior year of high school, this song was a staple EVERY weekend that winter when my friends and I would go ice skating Friday night after school. Such good times. I'd love to just have a surreal dream and think I'm back there for a night. Feels like yesterday but instead 10 whole years is sneaking up and it's right around the corner. Try to enjoy every phase of your life, because even when you think it's all gone to Hell, something as simple as a song can take you back to that exact moment, sometimes to the only bad feeling, but I've found more often than not, I find the silver lining when looking back and miss something about it.
