Yep, you're right. His new music is also very amazing: the masterpieces are just coming, one-by-one with new style! But I miss those days when I thought he was a white guy and I was just six years back then! Lol! He is still a mysterious guy, tho!
People don’t realize this song is foreshadowing Abel’s whole career. “I think I’ll be different” and yes he is different, but he’s still fire. And I’ll still listen.
such a beautiful song and the letter he wrote to fans was so real. He predicted his future & success. The change was needed for his evolution, he will leave a unique musical legacy✨
If Michael had never existed this man would be the best male voice and artist in history when Mike died there was 1. We are lucky as fuck to grow with this man as a soundtrack and inspiration
Unusual Dominican When the weeknd signed to republic records, he took down the mixtapes from his site. Instead it featured a letter implying he didn't sell his soul for fame and that he would stay the same and hoped his fans stayed on the journey with him. He recommended that we watched his new video(Rolling stone) and it would explain his situation. That same day his official Vevo account was made and Rolling stone was the first video uploaded to his Vevo.
Dude why are you more of his fan than i am . I discovered the weeknd in 2014 when he put out " often " and I've loved him ever since with every single song and I love his work before that song ...but because I wasn't paying attention during the trilogy album makes me a fake fan ..you can't claim that you're a super fan of his without liking blinding lights...which is the song that made him the mega star boy he is today...that song counts too not just his early stuff makes u a real fan and everyone who loves him because of his current stuff fake u gotta give people a chance to listen to everything he's done u can't hold the weeknd hostage from making hits just because u love his early beginning stuff ...I'm just as much of a fan as You
@@JP-ui8xk i wouldn’t say blinding lights made him famous, don’t get me wrong definitely helped him a lot during the pandemic but, no pun intended, Starboy made him a Starboy lmao as well as often and earned it both of which I used to hear a lot! he’s definitely been popping for a while but regarding the whole fan thing I agree with you. Time really doesn’t matter some were luckily then others to have discovered him sooner. It doesn’t mean we don’t love his music just as much or appreciate his craft. I’ve heard his songs on the radio plenty especially around 2016 times, but especially started listening when he dropped after hours and dawn fm. Been a fan since, and i really love trilogy even if I only found it as of recently. Doesn’t make me any less of a fan compared to someone who found it 10 yrs prior
There is a lot to his story that newcomers may not get also newcomers tends to not be interested in HOB or Trilogy but we ain't seeing you are worth less, just that you guys tends to like his actual music and a lot of you do not understand HOB and stuffs like that especially since he's real famous now those things also tends to be forgotten. And most likes how he is right now since starboy basically, not the before, but some can like both. But you can't deny there is a huge gap between his style before and now. Which is also why some ain't pushing it into his beginnings. Doesnt say you ain't less or more of a fan, just that you guys (guys as of new fans) tends to be less, lets say, informed? Dunno how to spell what I think of, but, yah, you guys unless you pass on Trilogy and listen to it and understand it entirely, you'll miss a piece of Abel. What he is, how he is, and how he became what he became and where he came from. That's it. Not saying you are less of a fan, just knowing less maybe? But, you personally, seem to do know Trilogy, however, this was different to listen to it back then than now, even for myself which had been a day one fan, this hits different. Especially this one song but that one was made for it but even lets say, songs about him being homeless and so, remember he had to fake love with girls to get into an house and a bed. Otherwise, he was real poor and homeless. "I've been on these streets for too long, theses recognitions ain't enough" But yah, even if you were not into Trilogy, I wouldn't say yo are less of a fan, if you are a fan, you are. Idk why you guys are batting over that, I mean, cmon, we're all listening to him in our own ways what's the matter? To each their own, even If you hate Trilogy like very songs off it but like Starboy songs, well, you still like The Weeknd in a way that's yours, idk why people are so toxic in The Weeknd's fans. They're the whole opposite of my fav rapper Mac Miller (also Juice Wrld) which are very very happy about newcomers. There, they seem to be hateful sadly. But don't get offended, you're good. 2014 was the hills too iirc, not bad! You came when he started climbing famous real bad and dropping some fatty songs that were more "energetic" that's cool too! @@JP-ui8xk/videos
Starboy then his persona game too. Starboy + Blinding Lights + his peronaes and his talent too shall be mentioned as a whole, The Hills did a lot too. 2B views rn, I remember when I first saw it, it had less than millions lmao. Am real proud but yeah, many songs did help him to climb. Blinding Lights is one of them, but that's a part of many other songs. Over the years. Starboy did make him famous in the first place but he sustained and climbed even more with songs like Blinding Lights and so on yah. He's very good at managing his own career and character game. Like when he had faked a surgery, that gave him many many popularity, through Save my tears and the fake bandages during a live, people actually (well, not everyone obviously lol) did believe he actually had done this for real (the surgery) he's very good at that too. Right now he's writing off his Blinding Lights persona and going for something else, he tried something with Dawn FM but sadly, it is less catchy. But if you let it play, you'll figure out how insane it is, it sounds bad at first (did for me) until I got hooked and real fan off it. You just have to understand what he tried to do and it takes more than a single song and single play.@@darlene9807
Listen to all his old shit, it's all amazing no filler. Although you have to be in a certain vibe to get it, smoking a blunt late at nights and putting this on is a vibe.
@@treysdays2141 Yeah forsure it grows on you right. I used to not FW Weeknd because I was ignorant and I thought all mainstream rappers were basic, mostly because of drake ngl. Then I randomly came across "Loft Music" around a year ago I'm like ok wow this is something special. Then I listened to House of Balloons and I was like holy shit I can't believe I've been sleeping on this for way too long. Weeknd is now in my top 5 artists.
Stanley. I can’t hate Drake…I hate his fans. Dude makes great songs but his fans only want In My Feelings and Money in the Grave. Nobody wants Tell-A-Story Drake anymore sadly… (Weston Road Flows, Lose You, Sandra’s Rose, Look What You’ve Done, Paris Morton, etc.)
@@treysdays2141 Yeah that's also what I meant, I disliked Drake and Weeknd fans, and didn't really give Weeknd a chance, because all I heard were radio hits.Once you go diving into an artists discography you will find some gems, I mean how else did they get popular lol. Anyways I'm high rn listening to King of the Fall, have a good friday night dude.
I think no one can ever take me in a place. where abel's music takes me. no matter how much I try to listen to other artists and like them I always come back to this man's music because his music takes me in a place where I can share the strong feelings with the music that is strong and comforting
***** i read an article that explained the meanings behind all his music videos.and some instagram fanpages so that where i go the info. Essentially in his first music video which is the rolling stony he warned us that he will get famous We will get "used to his face " and his mystery will fade. Which is exactly what happened since in one of his snapchats for starboy promotions he said -he is coming out of his shell. Back when he did the noise and the trilogy he was so underrated so he told us "So love me before they all love me" There are also conspiracies about him selling his soul to the devil for fame but thats a whole other thing
As the video goes by: 1) girl is wearing dark dress (his dark music) 2) different girl with open dress ( everyone knows him and his music) 3) the girl is gone ( his dark music slowly fades) He’s genius.
This song literally explains everything to this day. The people who complain about the "new Abel" are obviously selfish. They still want him to live in that depressed state of mind to create music like this. Trilogy is a fucking masterpiece on a golden pedestal, but created during his "Dark Times". During "Kiss Land" he even stated he was depressed af and you saw/heard that in his music. This is how he felt back then. You can hear it in his music now that Abel is very happy and I gotta say that it's great to know/see/hear in his music. This is also not to say that the new music won't be a masterpiece because this man is JUST now revealing what he is really capable of. So if you don't like "new Abel", his new music, his creativity, and him being happy then you can stop reppin' XO in 2016 and GTFO. Plain n' simple.
his old self killed his new self he's probably back to a depressed state, maybe not that extreme but he might be disappointed by himself but everything is speculation except his old self killing his new self in Starboy
I still cant fathom it either. I used to listen to him exclusively in high school all depressed in 2012 lmao i was scared to show him to others because of how different & emotional he is
He knows he’s going to get fame but he wants us to keep following his art and see how much he’s going to change not for mainstream but for us. One of a kind artist a legend and a master of his craft.
If you know the context of this song then you might be very emotional and i get chills when he says” ill be different” and “i hope you’ll still listen”.
@@taseenrj1720 this is a song dedicated to his fan base and marks the end of his mysterious persona and him entering into the limelight. You see how the lighter part of the video slowly becomes more and more prominent symbolising his change turning from an underground artist to a mainstream artist. When he says “ill be different” its because artist never stay the same after being recognised and constantly put forward something different. Then he says “i hope youll still listen” is him saying that he hopes that the day one and OG’s are still there with him after he changes his style and after he becomes a completely different man which is what happened. Thats why some people complain that they miss the old him whereas he already addressed this in this song that he’ll be different and he hopes you’ll still listen.
The acknowledgement of his original fans, him finally showing his face in a video, the symbolism of the girl wearing less and less clothes throughout the video, and him gradually admitting that he probably wont be different than everyone else once he's completely transitioned into mainstream music is what makes this guy so damn raw and unique. It's sad to know that we(people who like music for its substance) will lose another true artist to the "real" world of radio music....sighhhh
It's been soooo long since i read a genuine reply like this. I couldn't agree more mate. I was actually quite happy when I heard his earned it track. A sound similar to that of his house of baloons mixtape days. A sound I will never get bored of listening to and his message in lyrics something I will always relate to. The Weeknd, much love for this dude
this song makes me actually so sad but also happy at the same time: Sad because this is a masterpiece (as the whole Album Trilogy is) and because I live for this sound and nowadays there is no one except PartyNextDoor who can give me that dark rnb vibe. But I am also happy because this shows that although Abel makes pop music and radio music (After Hours wasn't really daylight music so that's a good thing) it depicts that Abel is most likely the same person and has this feeling still in him
@Wolfie my mans was literally homeless but you gonna rich shame him? Same shit people be saying about Eminem. Both of them deserve all the money they get because they both came from practically nothing. Don’t be a hater and don’t rich shame them.
From seeing he's career when he wouldn't show he's face yes am that old of a fan the trilogy album was acc three mix tapes for free. Am from London and one of he's 1st ever shows here was in front in like 1000 people so to see him a superstar makes me happy but Yh no one gives me that feeling but him that's why I always come back
this song got me thru the hardest years, but I didn’t realize they were also some of the best years. Out of the thousands of songs I know including all the ones from these mixtapes (I know them by heart beginning to end) this has and always will be my favorite song. And it means even more to me because of the message behind it. I felt so betrayed when he went mainstream but now that I’m grown I understand why. And I still listen no matter what he comes out with. I will always support him because this music saved me.
WIth his fans rejecting his "daytime music", this song makes sense now. "So, baby, love me, oh Before they all love me Until you won't love me, oh Because they'll all love me, ooh I'll be different, oh I think I'll be different, ooh I hope I'm not different, oh And I hope you'll still listen" Well, our boy predicted this.
Well he knew he had to make pop songs he even said in the interview with zane low that he chose to stay in his lane and create another world with kiss land before going pop with beauty behind the madness
ARAEL and even at that, Beauty Behind the Madness isn’t that poppy and still has the same kinda tones that Trilogy and Kiss Land set, (The Hills, Prisoner, Often) while Starboy is a completely different tone
Ooh Yeah, yeah, yeah, oh Now you're thinkin' 'bout it Girl, you're thinkin' 'bout it What we got here How we fuckin' got here They recognized They just recognize I'm in a life without a home so this recognition's not enough and I don't care about nobody else 'Cause I've been on these streets for too long too long, too long Baby, I've been on this too long 'Cause getting faded too long Got me on this rolling stone So I take another hit Kill another serotonin With a hand full of beans And a chest full of weed Got me singing 'bout a bitch While I'm blowing out my steam Yeah, I know I got my issues Why you think I fuckin' flow? And I'ma keep on smoking 'til I can't hit another note Ooh, but until then I got you, ooh Baby, I got you, ooh Until you're used to my face And my mystery fades I got you, ooh So, baby, love me, oh Before they all love me Until you won't love me, oh Because they'll all love me, ooh I'll be different, oh I think I'll be different, ooh I hope I'm not different, oh And I hope you'll still listen But until then Baby, I got you, ooh I got you, oh, ohh Girl, I still got you, oh-ohh And I got you, ooh, whoa
+Bruce Lee At the time he made this song, Abel wasn't well known. He knew he would get more well known if he started working with other artists. So he warned his old fans that he would change. The photographs are meant to show how the media would give him a lot of attention, and that new fans would start to listen to his music and share it out to more and more people. So since pop music was the most relatable to his original style, he' d have to change to fit what they wanted him to be like. When he says " So baby love me...before they all love me" he's saying that his new music will draw more attention, so the old fans better appreciate all the old Weeknd songs before he changes. I don't think I'm good with explanations, but I do hope I explained what he meant by "I will be different".
This song is written for the fans who listened for years before there was “the trilogy”. Before there was a photo of his face on Google. This video clip was the first time we ever saw his face so close up. He was such a mystery to us until this moment. I remember the first time I saw this clip. I cried in my friends basement upon seeing how beautiful his face is. This clip for me was the moment I knew he was going to go big. This song is his prediction to fame, really… knowing he’ll be different, knowing everyone will love him and hoping his original fans will still love him and still listen. Don’t worry Abel, we still listen. And we love you so much! We’re so proud ❤ XO
This song is such a great message for his fans, and it's perfect without even knowing the context. I just keep going back to it as my favorite over the years
He is singing to his old fans in this one😮 "So baby love me, before they all love me." because he knew the fame would change him and everyone will like him. He says "I think I'll be different, I hope you'll still listen." And he wants his old fans to keep listening to him even though his new music like the Starboy album is wayyy different from this.
For those that don't know; this entire song & video isn't about a girl, but about his fans and him switching from honest, underground music over to the mainstream lime light.. The right side (his left) of the video is dark, and represents where he came from, while the other side is bright with the flashing lights representing the mainstream.. The girl behind him actually represents his fans (or at very least his true original fans, or possibly his integrity) and that's why she is wearing less and less clothing as the "light side" starts taking over (losing original fans/self)... It's pretty interesting. One of the reasons he's a true artist IMO.
Impressive interpretation Nick. Really is a creative song in many aspects and shows off his talent as a musician. Never thought to see you here :p nice content.
ViZ Spike There's no interpretation needed really, he posted a statement himself not long after the release of the video explaining it. It was a message to his fans to explain and support what the song was already saying and what the video was already representing.
Man's asked for forgive from his fans 12 years ago saying he hopes he won't be different... I still have hope that he got us like he said did here cause the blinding lights really got his attention and I feel like he's not looking our way anymore 😢
this is how i found out about this lyrical genius, he fucking told yall that everyones gonna loose interest when becomes more well known he warned u in 2012 and now in 2016 people saying i want the old him.... he knew what would happen beore yall even knew it.
when this song dropped and noone knew what the fuck he was talkin bout, they just shut up and enjoyed the music. now hes keeping his word and yall start hating
I never trusted this song. I didn't think he was going to leave us but he did. At least he left us with Kiss Land before fully becoming what he is now. BBTM does still have some of him in there but not enough.
+Shane Benjamson I really hope he gives us more of the AbelXO we know on his next album. like I need at least 1 that reminds me of Abel from House of Balloons.
This is still my favorite Weeknd song and probably will always be. Because of how it sounds and because of the honesty. This is one of the true forms of artistry and without a doubt is exactly what has happened. Not for all of us but even those of us that have been a fan since the beginning, we can see it and I know we long for this Weeknd still. There’s still glimpse of him in some songs but he knew as he grew that he couldn’t make these songs again because he is a true artist that is painting pictures in the moments as they happen. This was him projecting what he knew would happen and it did. I’m still a life long fan, but there will never be a time like this time was. It’s sad but it’s also Amazing bc he became what he knew he would be and he’s painting this picture in real time so things change , the sound changes, the music changes, subjects, and all. But I will always be a fan bc he is a true artist and those of us who appreciate real art can respect that. I will always cherish this though, he’s touched so many lives and only us who went through this musical journey with him could understand that fully, in my opinion. xo
1000% percent. I agree with this statement completely. I'm a life-long fan of the weekend and was there since the start. A part of me is pained by the music he makes today but it's also understandable.
Coming here after dawn FM ... Abel is a man of his words I guess. He said he'll change and he did , he said they'll love him , they do ... Now he not just an underground artist but a full blown commercial star... What a freakin journey dude. #XOTWOD
I wish I was an original fan...I've been listening to his old music and I understand why y'all are scared of him going to mainstream music..he is a breath of fresh air..
, his older stuff was so different from what was going on in music at the time, the style, the beats, the lyrics, it was dark, it was scary, it dragged you into the music and before you knew it, you knew so much about his music but nothing aboutbhim, he was mysterious, everyone's little secret, all we had of him was 3 mix tapes, and rolling stone was the first ever video hr put out, besides the knowing, after the rolling stone video dropped, he wrote a letter and it explained the video on how he was torn between staying in the dark underground or going toward the mainstream light, and now a few years later, I guess we know which way he turned to.
The most interesting thing about him is that he's still really mysterious even tho he's a mega star now .no scandals or me2 nothing I wonder how he's Abel to do that in this paparazzi world we live in today where everyone can snap the right picture at the wrong time with their phones ...
@@azariaaa6133so what I'm talking about embarrassing scandals like Britney shaving her head and hitting a car with an umbrella..I'm pretty sure most rich and famous dudes got side chick's. Who's outta your league too ya ...
To all you "fans" who say he probably doesn't sound the same live and that his voice is auto tuned, you guys are taking the biggest L of your lives lol. Mr.Tesfaye has one of the most natural, authentic, beautifully gifted voices the music world will ever witness. See him live and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Boris What he did in his past influenced the stories and meanings behind his music, it has nothing to do with his vocals. It really doesn't matter what he's talking about, he has an awesome voice.
I think you missunderstood me i meant to say that his vocals arent good as they used to be bc of smoking drugs and alco but hes still an awesome singer i love. xo
LISTEN PRE FAME WEEKND FANS ! I understand wanted him to stay an underground artist and keep the same vibe but he is successful now it was bound to happen he is too talented. His current album may be little more mainstream but it's still a great album and true fans would appreciate each stage of his career.
+ToneEsco Ive been listening to The Weeknd for years and years and I am super happy people are finally hearing just how awesome of an artist he truly is. XO
+ToneEsco i WISH i knew him before he became more mainstream!! i really do appreciate his music whatever style it is! Seriously though, where's he been all my life!? damn :o
+ToneEsco "Pre fame" fans still have their own opinions. Just because some fans don't especially appreciate this mainstream stage of his career, doesn't make "pre fame" fans or any fan for that matter not a "true fan".
+chicvouge yeah like what the Fuck are you talking about? shut the Fuck up with this fan shit. it's music not a group. I listen to so many different kinds of music it would be stupid to be " yeah I'm only a fan of his old shit" it's music Pure Opinion based
This song hits me every time I listen to it. I found The Weeknd when he only had few thousand views at most lol, I was hooked immediately and I started questioning my friends and rest of people when I met if they know about The Weeknd, people were clueless. It was like this guy was there only for me and Trilogy was my marathon everyday from start to finish. Don't get me wrong, I love new fans and when I hear people listen Abel, I want him all the best and I'm so glad he made it. But this song truly tells a big truth. I still listen Abel. Cheers
life was good when this dude was full of mystery, essence, dark art…..he has since evolved into a true star although i can’t help but dwell on his ability back then to create such beautiful visions, darkness, and suspenseful art for all the poetic minds. we will never meet an artist quite as intelligent and gifted as this guy right here. he turned his experiences into some of the most revolutionary music and created his literal own genre. genius.
I heard this song summer of 8th grade and thought man this song is beautiful, but I thought he was talking about a girl. It's crazy how he knew exactly what was happening to himself all these years while the song gained so much more meaning, and clarity over this course of time. Thats true art, when it gains value and meaning over time.
+ricardo ricochet back in the trilogy era he was barely known and his music explained a lot of his life and this song is him explaining his future because he says that he will be different and that he hopes that we as the original X'O fam will still listen to him

K Ahmed LISTEN to Starboy and False Alarm. The man belongs to the radio, he is not returning. If you think these new songs sound like the old Abel you are stupid
Totally, thats what makes this sonh even more hauntingly beautiful and sad. Sorry, but for me when i listen to Starboy it makes me smmfh, yea it has a cool catchy beat and would be fine if it wasnt for the fact that its him singing it, and its a million miles away from this. When you said "he belongs to the radio" i couldnt have put it better myself.
this is the very first song i ever heard from The Weeknd. the year was 2012, i was a freshmen in high school. i was downloading free songs on my laptop at the airport about to go on vacation to see some family. i had no idea who he was. but i had this song on repeat my whole vacation. he’s still my favorite artist to this day, just can’t get enough of his old music.🖤
Watch the video. At first glance of listening you'll think he's singing about a girl but not at all. The girl holding on to him in the back represents his original fans. The whole time he's singing about how he knows he's going to become famous and mainstream eventually but until then he's going to continue making the music his original fans know and love. And around 2:20, when he says "I think I'll be different", the camera starts to shoot taking pictures representing how he became mainstream(what he meant by saying he'll be different), but he wants his old fans to still listen. And at 3:00 you see the girl dissapeared, meaning his original fans are gone, and no longer listen to him. Its crazy really how he know all this would happen..
+oPimp Daddyo JUST THANK YOU I MEAN I ALWAYS KNEW THERE WAS AN UNDERLYING MEANING AND I HAD A FEELING THIS SONG WASN'T ABOUT A GIRL, BUT I NEVER REALLY TOOK THE TIME TO ACTUALLY LISTEN!! So many lyrics makes references to listening his music and about the fans! This is pure talent honestly!! Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN I JUST HAD A BREAKTHROUGH AT 1:02 A.M.
I've been listening to his music since I was 13 and nothing will beat trilogy. I'm proud to say I'm one of the originals. He represents my deepest emotions.
All real Abel fans will listen to his music no matter what all of his music and any new fans here that got this deep into abel's music you can call yourself a real fan
Thanks 😁 I still hate myself for not knowing about him before, like the first song I heard from him was The Hills but even now my favorite song is between Rolling Stone and Twenty Eitht
Charlie Silver I got really into starboy back in November, had it on repeat 24/7 but didnt see him as more than that and the guy from the hills then i went to his concert a few months ago and omlllll. I started listening to trilogy and a few weeks ago, Kissland and he is legit the only artist i listen to
"until you're used to my face/and my mystery fades" Jesus man this whole album literally gives me chills from start to finish but this cut especially and that line right there hits me extra hard..always reminds me of the mentality of most where no matter how amazing something is..no matter how amazing i might be to a woman it's usually only a matter of time til you're used to it and no longer interested
DiLaw'x His style is different now. It's still beautiful to me but it's so different from his trilogy style. He's super famous now, and he's scared that the fame will change the way he feels about music, too.
The way he's able to redine himself every time is so masterful. He has undeniable talent, obviously, but to stay relevant and keep the audience wanting more. He's great
“I’m in a life without a home so this recognition is not enough, and I don’t care about nobody else cuz I’ve been on these streets for too long” this summarizes the entire song. He’s pretty much saying that the underground fame that he has is not working out for him because he’s not getting enough money because his “recognition” is not enough and he is going to be moving from underground to mainstream and is telling his underground fans that he will always love them and remember them and wants them to stay with him even though he’s gonna sell himself for money because he needs and wants more money. There’s a little more to it but I can’t really explain it; you guys need to me real fans to understand his art
And this really is so fucking deep being that its the first video he really completely showed himself... and what he's singing about... hoping the fans from the beginning will still be there when he's blowing up and changing and just the emotion in his voice ughhhh this totally has me in my feels right now.
Welp from the comments on his newer music (Often and KOTF) a good majority of "day one" or "2010" fans aren't feeling his newer stuff. Which is sad, but I guess they all want this weeknd back. But he isn't the same person. Oh well, in KOTF he mentions working with Doc again so that's good.
Kai Robinson Ive been a fan since 2011 so from the beginning and I love his new shit... a lot of fans from the beginning love this shit... because we know what he's doing and why he's doing it (this song and the open letter to the fans)... also while killing the new styles that he's trying... I love that he's doing songs like Often and KOTF... they're great and still are his style just done in a different way. I am excited he's working with Doc I can't deny that but I love the new shit and a lot of Xo fans from back in the day agree.
kissland xo Yeah I loved Kissland, except for wonderlust. Not becuase it was bad I just felt it didn't fit the sadder mood of the album. I love all his work icluding the new. I'm just excited for the upcoming album.
Kai Robinson I thought Wonderlust was one of the best songs of that album! I understand what your point of view is, about it not fitting the sadder mood of the album, but personally I feel like it fit perfectly. That song is so much more troubling and deeper than you would think at first listen, so much emotion.
Notice how the girl's arms were always possessively wrapped around him. She was holding him down, but also holding him back. He needed freedom. Now she's gone, and he can fly as high as he wants; but he has lost the tenderness, the love, the security. Really effective and powerful simple video, I like it a lot.
Jeremy Hunter He knew that sooner or later he would blow up and his music would become mainstream and popular hints to the "love me until they all love me" he knew that the people that were here before everyone else would lose interest in his music because it became so mainstream. So basically he said until then I got you (his OG supporters) then he says "I hope you'll still listen" he still wants people to still listen to him even after he's reached his fame. The girl in the videos is a symbolic representation of his original supporters. she literally has his back then she disappears after the lights start to flash meaning paparazzi and fame.
