I still remembered when Starboy came out, I was in high school. Such an epic album with many hit singles and underrated tracks from R&B to synth pop. This being a notable single for its homage to 80s influence with modern synth pop sound. Starboy will remain one of his commercial refined pop sounds with an upbeat feel. BBTM has a more moody and melancholic pop ambience. MDM is also melancholic, but much more darker and empathetic. It shows how emotions/feelings of relationships can impact sound and lyrics.

Same! Been a fan since I was like 11 shout out my friend who I don’t even talk to anymore who introduced me to The Weeknd way back when his only hit was Wicked Games, how time flies !

This album was weird to me cause I had just listened to Trilogy, Kiss Land and BBTM and were my fav and then this was released and was a complete 180 from what he had done before. I began appreciating the album later on.
