Lmao lastly I think when he’s referring to bleeding out, he’s talking about the lifestyle, the drugs, and also the memories and love he was holding onto from a past lover. So tired of how these things were affecting his life in a negative way that he’d bleed them out, or kill that version of himself to create a new life without these things. Essentially he would cut these things from his life and drain himself of them till they are dead to him.

Love this ballad. This song was very sad, emotional and always affect my heart during each listen. Because it's represent a part difficult of my life and this song was a special guest in my heart. It's was my non-single favorite of the ''After Hours''. This, ''Faith'' and ''Scared to Live'' was the most emotional songs of this album.

"dont wanna touch the sky no more" doesnt mean being a superstar. He doesnt wanna be UP anymore, meaning he doesn't feel like taking addys anymore. "i wanna feel the ground when im coming down" he doesnt wanna use other substances example xanax to help the come down, which helps from feeling too down after uppers, he wants to feel the pain and anxiety of the come down.

I just think he can't rally leave that lifestyle because of the deal . when u sign a deal you gotta meet the bargain so in a sense he does want out but also that lady was more of a handler of his who hypnotizes him to go through hence why if you ever watched the movie get out , it seems like he's in that situation . he has to maintain n image which is The Weeknd but he just wants to be Abel.

Look at his surroundings when the camera cuts to him in the chair. One version of him is alone with the sand dunes behind him and the other is surrounded by a bunch of people at a party. Throughout the vid it cuts between the two personas. One runs away alone and the other is dragged down by people in black (demons/fame). In the end one of the personas is still at the party suffering it seems. So i guess it’s suppose to be loneliness and drawbacks of his lifestyle? I’m just taking a guess lmao
