Every time I need help with a song, I start looking through youtube and when I see PT or JJ, it's always a "YES!". Awesome teacher. I really appreciate you taking the time to post these lessons.
Celebrating Easy Rider of the late (today) Peter Fonda ! 🙏 Great song from a Great Band ! Thanks for the post and RIP Captain America ! What a Soundtrack !
I just watched your final video. I agree there are some many idiots in the world who think everything is about them. I very much appreciate all of your posts. you are a great player and teacher.
Thanks for the video. I'm addicted to the last waltz version of the song. The intro and little fills on that track. Every recorded version the band did of the weight seems to be slightly different. They were absolutely the best
Man your playing and song choice is right up my street. Always very informative and explained really well in a way that we all understand. Keep up the good work James, top man.
James, this is a great lesson - easy, fun and everyone can sing along..I was over at PT earlier today and learned Amie - thanks for that too! Keep healing up, and God bless you and the James James family!
I want you to know I really dig what you do. Very grateful to watch you play. I wish I could play the way you do brother! I'm sure if I keep watching your posts and I've seen a bunch including your old channel...I will keep getting better. Got a little bar band going which I love but no where near the player ID like to be. You are helping to change that. Cheers and keep up the great work!
Hey man bummer about all the negative Trolling you experienced as PT glad you are still posting, I subscribed backin 08 or 09 and always found all your videos enjoyable and extremely helpful!! I stopped gigging out in 89 after going into business for myself and pretty much stopped playing altogether after 95. After my divorce in 07 I started playing again and had lost most of my chops. When I found your channel I became your student, and my go to guy. The only negative thing I ever thought about you was what the heck does this guy do for a living to be able to afford all these awesome guitars, lol! You the Man! !
Hey there JJ- wanted you to know that I really appreciate all the effort, skill & passion you bring to your vocation overall. . .(yes, as 'pt' too!-I was originally on Here Comes the Sun, but couldn't leave a comment.) Your enthusiasm as a teacher is obvious & inspirational. I have learned a great deal from you & send you warmest regards. Please keep it up. Sláinte!
Just Subscribed. Been watching a lot of your video lessons and for me the way you play and explain it works well for me. Started playing 30 years ago but haven’t played in over the last 10 years or so and started again back in November. Brushing up and you’ve been a big help. I’m diggin it. Thanks James 👍🏻🎸
Hey James, I've been a fan since the beginning when you were putting it out as PT. I'm so glad you are still at it. Love your work and I've learned so much from you. BTW thank your brother for needing help because that is how "we" your you tube "family" found you. Anyway thanks so much for these posts
James , the lessons are great but what I really love is your passion for the music ! I ve never heard one or never have seen you play live but I m sure your originals are pretty darn good also !!
Hi, I've been listening and learning from you for years now. I really appreciate your willingness to teach / demonstrate cool songs. I just saw your "last" video for the first time tonight under your previous channel, and initially, seeing first the name on the video, I was bummed...but here you are, so all is well. Again, thanks - you're appreciated by many I'm sure.
+James James If not the best song..... then arguably one of the best and most highly talented bands ever. Three incredible singers, five virtuoso multi instrumentalists. From the first time I saw them at MSG with Dylan, to the last time that I saw Levon and Garth at the Midnight Ramble, I have never been so impressed by a live act (and I see 100 every year). I really miss the Allman Brothers March run at the Beacon, but it's nothing compared the void left by the loss of The Band.
It's funny, I started playing this song about 2 weeks ago. Always liked the song, but never played it. Anyhow, nice break down of the way to play it..Thanks.
My wife and I love animals we have 2 shiatsu's When her and I jam they really get fired up .We feed the wildlife here in Hull Ma and at home in northern Michigan .Her band played at the "House Of Blues " in Boston. Then went on to win the "Battle of the bio tech band's" for a large amount of money for the company favorite charity on Cape Cod for children with cancer and their family's .Her band "Bad Idea was all co workers . I am so proud of her world wide known success in her field . We are going to make regular donations at the shelters here and at home . Hat's off to you brother , I understand . Fair thee well!! THANK YOU!!
Hey man I guess you don’t make videos anymore but I love all your lessons. They kick ass and unlike most RU-vid guitar instructors you’re actually a cool guy. Thanks for your help
Jimbo I to no no music theory, it's only a hobby. My brother can sing and play country western music by ear but I'm not that good you on the other hand are insanely awesome. Your way was the way I was taught how to play a guitar by watching. You do make it look easier then it looks. Thank you very much. I seen the last PT video please don't give up, don't give up.You my friend are a great influence and are worthy of a ''bow''. Piss on Utube!
James - ran into your love in vain tutorial and loved your easy going style and just wanted to tell you thank you - I play out and wanted to add that classic to my set - I was horrified but not surprised when I watched your final clip from the PT site and listened to your comments - your wife really what a bunch of fools - they live sad lives brother, sad, sad lives. On behalf of mankind we need to do better - and quite frankly do not deserve this planet. But there are a ton of good people out there - stay righteous brother and thank you for sharing - anyway totally get where you are coming from - love your attitude and thank you for helping expand my set list - stay true to yourself - deep down we all know the difference between right and wrong and stay on the good foot! I'll be rummaging through your posts for a few old chestnuts so appreciate that you didn't pull it all down. You're a good egg and what I tell people is that its simpler and easier to be a jerk and takes way more courage and character to speak your truth and walk the righteous path - plus its way more fun. Keep on keeping on - brother Paul
i saw part of your last pt video. just wanted to thank you. being a 64 yr old coming out of a stroke and 2 mini strokes just wanted to let you know i enjoy the way you show the way to play the songs. thank you
I feel ya Ken, I had a stroke a while back, kinda stopped me playin for a while but I'm gettin there! Check out my channel there's a video about playing after stroke!
