This series of videos is superb. Feels super technical but with an understandable explanation. Level shoulders is a curse for slicers and I’m working hard on shoulder tilt - when I concentrate on this it works!
For those of us with bad out to in swing paths, this is so hard. Our natural swing is a killer and is the default swing on the course when get tired or trying to force a shot. The frustration of this game is only matched by the enjoyment when you do it right. This is definitely one to save and work on
Mark - Interested in how to avoid lower back pain with the tilt. Have gotten into this position for a few months, but I end up developing the reverse C lower back problem and have to move away from it. Sure I am off with something, but haven’t been able to figure it out with the 3 coaches I have tried…
Mark I love you videos and your coaching style. I’d come see you for a lesson if the Atlantic was in the way. I know that speed is what everyone is after and I don’t want to lose mine, but struggle so much accuracy and distance control because I’m always maxing out my swing speed. I tell myself go 90% 80% but I just can’t seem to. What am asking is how to you typically coach someone from “driving range” speed to on course control. I know you mentioned in videos. Especially the new driver testing videos where you say try hitting “gaming shots” as well, but the life of me I can’t seem to actually take my swing down by a few miles an hour with out losing my match ups and getting worse results. It really hurts my iron game the most. Any thoughts or drills you could put out I’d try for sure
For all those golfers complaining about club reviews .... search out Mark's comparison of drivers over a 10 year period ..... there wasnt a massive difference in distance, but generally help came due to bigger heads. Ping are now using tubulators on their drivers to gain 1mph difference in clubhead speed ( marginal gains ). Big deal. By improving your technique and fitness you could multiply this increase by 5x .... hence maybe why he doesnt compare and test new gear as much ...... because its meant to do 1 thing ...... sell you the latest and greatest whizzcombooborator driver !! The problem is most people go out and spend the £600 on a new driver and still hit shite balls !!! Rant over
Got to also have a bit of left sidebend on the backswing as well, which sets up the thoracic spine to be able to work better and move into the right sidebend on impact. I.e. some tilt on the backswing as well.
Always love a good face to path feeling. I’m all about making that relationship stronger right now as it promotes so much more confidence too when I’m striping the ball! Thanks Mark!
