We had a WEIRD Era in Mario Sports, but now we enter the weird Era of Mario Party and oh my goodness, it was SO bad! I'm gonna do my best not to go crazy when doing this video! ENJOY! #mario #marioparty #mariopartysuperstars
I actually loved Mario Party 9 and 10. I think these games are overhated in my opinion. Like the minigames were pretty good, the game modes were fun in my opinion, i can see why people hate that everybody moves around in a car together during boards but i never had a problem with it. Also Mario Party 10 had Amiibo Party which plays kind of the same as normal Mario Party but you have to have an amiibo to play it.
So I actually have a theory as to why people hate these "games." I think maybe Nintendo wanted to focus more on making mainline titles for the Super Mario Bros. series instead of focusing so much time on spinoffs, so they changed up how the spinoffs play so that people would stop begging for spinoffs and playing them altogether, therefore more mainline games could be made. But clearly the plan backfired, as there are now even MORE spinoffs than there were before.
I HATE Island Tour. Not just because the gameplay is bad and the story never ends, but because Nintendo literally LIED to us about it! When it was first teased in a Nintendo Direct, they showed early gameplay that had the traditional coins and stars formula. So I assumed that’s what it would be, never saw any more trailers for it, got the game for Christmas 2013 alongside Mario & Luigi Dream Team, and was immediately let down when the original formula was nowhere to be seen. Completely unacceptable! 😡 The only thing I liked about it was the puzzle game Emergency Hexit, but that wasn’t enough to justify keeping it. Just like Sticker Star, I traded it in to GameStop and refused to get any more Mario Party games until they got a clue and made one in the classic style again.
