THE WEIRDEST ANIMATED BATMAN MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN 

Honestly, this movie makes a lot more sense if you think of it as Harley Quinn telling the story to the audience. The whole movie reads like Harley's fan fic.

How the hell did the writer get away with having an entire animated film made based around his fetishes.

Between this and The Killing Joke = yep, Bruce Timm has lost his mind.

This movie makes Joker Returns weird because in the end Harley is still evil and traumatized Robin

Its like someone watched Batman the Animated Series and thought, Id love to bone Harley Quinn

It's funny: Bruce Timm himself picked Melissa Rauch cause her voice sounded like Harley. I've never disagreed with a show's creator more.

Quick story: I googled "Bruce Timm" on google images to see his drawings. I mostly came across drawings of hot women doing sexy poses. I didn't expect nor understand the situation that well. I thought he got pervy later on in his life. Now I think I've figured it out. Bruce Timm was always a pervy nerd like some sort of proto-weeb. Back then, he had restrictions and people to vibe check him so he doesn't go overboard. Now he has absolute power, he just goes full on perv mode.

I thought this movie was awful. I couldn’t help but feel like the writer looks down on the audience and shoehorned in all of these “mature” themes for shock value. _”Hey guys! Remember that classic superhero show you watched when you were a kid? Well now your favorite characters are back and have grown up too! There are middle fingers, fart jokes, and even sex scenes! Holy smokes! Bet you never saw this coming!”_

I'll admit, I got a good chuckle out of Batman continuing to remain perfectly stoic when Harley Quinn was farting.

I will defend the super hero restaurant because that’s straight up from Kingdom Come. I recommend checking it out it’s one of my favorite DC stories.

The weirdest part to me about the Nightwing r*pe scene was how Harley, who was a grown ass adult throughout all of her TAS run, knew him since he was a kid. Like imagine getting together with the kid of one of your long-time colleagues. It's super fucking gross. Then again the same thing happened in the animated version of the Killing Joke so I guess it's because Timm has that weird fetish.

I think bruce tIm got the script for that movie from a fanfic forum.

Nightwing is one of my favorite characters and i don't like how in all of these animated movies they portray him as being weak in the Comics he's one of the best fighters in the world second to only batman and a few top tear fighters like Lady Shiva. Rais'Al Ghoul Bane. Fighters on those levels but in these films every body that knows martial arts can pretty much beat his Ass ! I mean he's a student of batman for Fuck Saks it would've made more sense if Harley put up a decent fight but still lost the hand to hand fight and cought him off guard in hit him with the Joker Toxic !

I remember being really exited to watch this with my siblings, because my brother is a Nightwing fan and my sister was a Harley Quinn fan and I’m a Batman nerd, so the movie would have awesome. But after the movie, we were just like “oh. That was Uuh, weird.”

How the hell is Harley even able to last a minute against Nightwing?? He's literally one of the best martial artists in the DC universe, right up there with Slade and Batman himself! Harley couldn't even take out Batgirl, how are the even on the same playing field?

I didn't even realize this was a continuation of the universe and now that I have it's ruined it for me. I was happy to just pretend it was some mindless fun and just forget about it but now... I'm disappointed.

DC seems to always have this problem that they tend to over saturate the market with a character when they become popular which is why Harley is all over the place now but after Birds of Prey bombed, and possibly SS2 when it releases, this might be the end of the Harley Quinn takeover of DC

I think out of all the DCAU movies this is probably the one most likely to be considered non-canon. Due to how the characters act being uncharacteristic of their DCAU counterparts imo.

Weird coincidence, I tried watching this yesterday. I couldn’t make it past the weird sex/rape scene with Harley Quinn. I turned it off soon afterwards. Honestly, the outrage if Harley and Nightwing were switched with Joker and Batgirl and had the same tone would have been crazy

I'd like to think that maybe this movie is told from the perspective of Harley and maybe that's why it's so crazy she Harley is over powered.

The problem with Harley quinn here is that they get the modern traits of her being a colorful, coco puffs, deadpool character and put them on the classic jester henchman bruce tim version and it feels very inappropriate

i really hate the oversexualization of Harley in stuff like this and Suicide Squad 2016, yes Harley is hot but this is ridiculous. It really distracts from an actually cool and compelling character.

Watched this in October 2017 before my wedding day. Knowing this train wreck was the worst part of my day made my wedding all the better! It would've been great to begin with, but starting the day with the bar so low... it could only go up! ... This also may have been the feature that really began my souring on Harley Quinn as a character.

I hate how Harley kicks NightWing's ass in this movie and Damian's ass in the Harley Quinn Series. NightWing is a hero who was raised as an acrobat since childhood and was later trained by Batman. He has beaten many skilled/strong opponents like Red Hood, Red Robin and Grundy. On the other hand, Damian was raised an assassin and trained to kill pretty much since he could walk. He has beaten skilled opponents like Red Hood, Red Robin, Talia Al Ghul, Joker and has killed literally all of a Dragon species (except Goliath, who could have killed but he let him live semi-out of compassion) by himself. There is no way Harley is beating NightWing or Damian that easily. Hell, if Damian or Dick actually fought Harley one on one, the fight would last 5 minutes max and would end with Damian or Dick claiming victory.

To be fair, Harley did go straight for a bit in the BTAS episode Harley's Holiday.

I remember watching this when it came out, and it seemed to me like there were multiple opinions at the studio as to what the tone of this movie should be and they never managed to come to a consensus. I was just yelling at the screen, "For crying out loud, pick a lane!" If you want to be serious and edgy, then do it. If you want to be over-the-top campy, go for it. If you want to be erotic fan fiction. . . . well, that's super weird, but commit dang it! You don't get to switch back and forth between all of them.

This is one of those times you have to remember that despite being the progenitor of the shaking animated universe, Dini and Timm are both just really horny dudes, so most of the movie makes sense

The movie is worlds better when you realize the story shown through Harley's point of view. Still not the worse thing WB/DC squirted out.

Also, Batman and Nightwing seem to be getting along in this film. Something that didn’t happen in the end of BTAS.

She canonically orgasms in that episode. Riding a rocket. The episode Robin's Reckoning having a sex worker. Killer Croc's sex workers in "Love Is a Croc". The rape metaphor of "House and Garden" where Poison Ivy mindraped a guy and is implied to have used his semen to make plant babies. The panty shot in "Girls' Night Out" of Supergirl while Batgirl rides her (as transport). Jonah Hex talking to a madam in "Showdown". "Animal Act" having Mad Hatter pull giant sausage out of his pants. Mad Hatter just being on the show. Calendar Girl's henchmen in "Mean Seasons". Harley's ass shot in "Harlequinade". I... may know too much about TAS, but TAS was always _trying_ to be this horny. The censors just kept slapping Bruce Timm.

Complete honesty. I loved this film. This movie was such a joy to get through. It was dumb fun. With the Nightwing and Harley scene it didn't really come off as rapey to me. Maybe coercive to a point but to me it seemed more like Dick was into it with his responses. Regardless it was alright, no Batman Barbara scene so that's a plus.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition is the better movie when compared to this animation. After watching that movie I managed move on happy that I saw Batman and Superman in the same movie. But THIS movie almost killed me due to alcohol poisoning from drinking to forget I ever saw it. The Killing Joke movie is where I started to look down on Bruce Timm, but after this movie I lost all respect I used to have for him and I only see him now as a horny old man who lusts after his own drawings. one of the reasons I always had an issue with the Batman beyond return of the joker was that harley would not be okay with torturing a child. Her and batman didn't have the worst relationship, on harley's day out he goes out of his way to help her and even gives her dress back that she paid for. She even asks him why and he says " i had a bad day too once" and she says "nice guys like you shouldn't have bad days" and kisses him. So even tho return of the joker is an interesting batman story parts of it never made sense to me.

I thought it was funny, and liked that it was showing these characters in a slightly mature & different light😂. I liked the movie for what it was and as long these types of movies are few & far between, I'll Always appreciate something like this.
