He wouldnt have gained any advantage doing that regardless. Even if he sat on the grid for 5 seconds after lights out the pitlane guys cant start until the pitlane lights go green which only happens when the last car on the grid goes past.

The FIA would've given him +3 points for that

Why would he jump the start being the only car on the grid??? He can take five years to get going and everyone has to wait for him before the pit lane exit goes green.

What would have happened had these been no cars on the grid? When would the pit lane exit have opened?

That wasn't the fault of lewis...his work was to give info to the team about track...and literally he was like...turn 2 is dry ...3 also..4 is dry..on an out lap...but they decided not to pit idk why

i didnt really understand what happened there. His pit box is at the end of the pit lane, so he drove out and parked besides Ocon. Why was that illegal? Should he have waited thus blocking Latifi and rejoin at the end of the train? or why did he just have to give back 7 places?

According to an article I've read in the Formula 1 website, as soon as Lewis was in the pit lane, the normal starting procedure would have taken place, with the five lights and all; and as soon as they turned off, as no competitor was on the grid, the pit lane exit would have been opened right away. Would have been hilarious to watch the lights on an empty grid for the meme, but I'll take Hamilton standing on the grid by himself.

@Ryan Lane verstappen has multiple poles this season but the day when the was behind, he got taken out. Hamilton wasn't taken all the times he started behind. That is what you call luck.

@@lemonbuzz642 The thing is, since Lewis was first, if he had pitted and other drivers had not, he would have effectively given up his lead anyways.... It was actually kinda a curse for him to be at P1 because it meant no one was infront of him to judge of. As soon as the driver in P2 pitted, everyone just followed that car into the pits.
