It's rare cause (as far as I know) it only comes with the Lego Modular - Palace Cinema set. Because one of the movie posters features a giant green brick separator monster.
These brick separators did not exist when I was a kid. Instead, I pried them open with either my fingernails or a butter knife. Those were tough times.
If you are confused about the green separator They always wanted the separators to stand out they originally chose red,but red became very popular in their sets and changed it to orange . The green separator is only in one set an orange train set that came out a couple years ago and they didn’t want to have an orange separator in an orange set so they made it green so it would stand out Hope it helped
Unfortunately you are wrong on both counts. The green separator comes in more than one set, i.e. the cinema modular building. Additionally the black separator comes in the world map set.
I believe that the green one only came in the Palace Cinema and Horizon Express. The Palace Cinema also features a movie poster called “The Brick Separator” which is a parody of Godzilla.
There was definitely an old school model of a brick separator back in the 90s. It was grey, and its funny it really only solved the issue of taking two close pieces apart. Its part 6007
The brick separator has been out since the 90’s. I was 8 years old when I got the winter search and rescue set. Came with a helicopter and snow machine. And grey brick separator still have it
I used to have so many black and green brick separators, but as a kid, I didn’t know the name, so I would vaguely gesture around with the pieces I wanted to take apart to my father

I had that in my box of Legos for so long as I can remember. I didn't know it was a brick separator at the time, thought it was a weird ramp piece or something. If I knew what its purpose was it could've saved me a lot of time and sore thumbs, fingers and nails
I feel so incredibly upset and stupid for not knowing sooner of that orange piece's purpose. It would have saved my fingers, nails, and teeth dozens of times through my childhood. I legit did not know that is was for that till now lmfao- I think I always thought it resembled those things that cars drive onto to be worked on or something lmao
There was a brick separator made a few decades before this one… It was a grey wedge with no bend that didn’t have the technic axle shape sticking out of it.
I had a green brick separator in my Horizon Express set. I think when there’s a set with a lot of pieces the same color as your brick separator, it’ll blend in and be lost. That’s why so many sets use the orange, because it stands out from the other colors in the set.
Which is exactly why Lego made the separator. People chip their teeth or leave bite marks on pieces. Not worth it. Used to be too expensive so it'll they started putting them in, i too used nails and teeth

I have a massive box of LEGO. A little while ago I rummaged around in it for a while and found over 6 baseplates, countless instruction booklets, two separators (one orange and one gray) and submarine I built with my mum a few years back and a somehow perfectly preserved leaf probably from at least 7 years ago..
I went 30+ years without ever getting one in a set. Now I have like 40 of them. All orange. But I remember as a kid, those green ones were like having literal gold. That meant you had a big set, and were rich.
They used to have seperators in far older sets aswell. They used to be green and much bulkier than the new ones. But they were always gone when we needed them so our lego (and our teeth) had to suffer
Oh man, those days were hard. Using my teeths, nails (that broke), asking my parents and after so many times trying, just accepting it isn't going to work.
I remember the first set I got the brick separator in was one of the Lego Ninjago sets from the snake season. Somehow I convinced myself that it was another tail you could use on a mini figure 😭
