You should check out his main, turndownforwalt, where he covers the sickest shit in smash, except in smash Melee rather than smash Ultimate. Some banger videos over there you should absolutely see, no matter what game you play
@@InstaFiz hey! Thanks for your honesty! I enjoyed it, and if it's not your thing, no worries! He is trying something new and this is part of the growing process. I'm sure constructive criticism is welcomed. Stick with it for a while and see if it grows in you. Yes I made several plant related puns 😉 🌱🍀🥀
There's no feeling more helpless than getting destroyed by a plant. That character doesn't win much, but when it does it makes the opponent feel like an absolute NPC. I remember getting destroyed by a plant once and that game had me questioning whether or not my controller was still plugged in
I feel like it's for the best tho cuz spargo never uses it in actual offline brackets (not that I can remember or not consistently) so show casing two people who might not be known by many and showing how they advance a plant is a more entertaining video
Idk why/who started this trend but ppl love to emphasize the character being really bad when lowkey they're not half bad It's strength in moveset being a verticality based designed one is interesting especially in a game where most everyone is jump happy, as well as Ptooie oddly acting like a counter at times for masher/brawler types The character feels very anti/counter meta in those senses which is cool imo
As a Plant main, you couldnt explain better. The anti-air character type is very unique, and super fitting when you consider their role in the Super Mario Series
@@theogeitondasamphilochos5630 I’d argue Pokémon doesn’t really have an equivalent, since competitive Pokémon players usually have a better sense of what’s good. Like, top players know Quagsire’s good. You can play with 6 Pokémon at a time and you generally need less time to get a feel for a Pokémon than a fighter in SSBU.
Piranha Plant has a great advantage state. The reason he's so bad is because he has so few options in neutral and disadvantage. If you look carefully at the clip at 10:07 the only moves Tasu uses in neutral are ptooie, jab, nair, and the occasional dash attack
I genuily believe Piranha Plant is just the last Main Game Character and at some point in development they decided to put the case of finishing that last character later after the release and focus on bringing a finished game on release. I mean they even gave us him free for everyone that owned the game already
It kinda is, there was code for it in the base game and it's the only DLC to have Palutena's Guidance, a fighter showcase video on the Smash Bros. website, and a non-cinematic Final Smash. Plus its Classic Mode route is all the base-game newcomers.
Plant is the Shuma-Gorath of Smash Bros. Hardly anyone wanted them, but the devs must have enjoyed animating their moves even if they become mid to low tiers in their metas.
13:08 I’m pretty sure Kept won a major on villager (uprising 2022, it was an SWT gold tier but I’m not sure if that counts) which would take him off the list. He’s a crazy good Japanese player and beat Gackt for first place.
I still definitely think plant was a base game character that didn't get finished in time for release. They're just Ultimate's "random" character. Every smash game has one.
piranha plant may be garbage in competitive format but is really powerful in the 4 player ffa items on casual format. the spike ball move in particular is incredibly lethal when people aren’t paying attention to you.
I don't care that this character is trash, i still love it. Sakurai did the funniest move he ever could have done by adding a carnivorous plant hidden in a pipe out of all the possible characters as the first DLC
It's always fun to see a low tier character get big upsets like this. I enjoy playing the plant and hope that one day I can maybe win one of my university tournaments even though this is sadly my last year and I can't say I'm at peak capacity with my controller and all that. I would like to buy a modified controller that I have which is a PDP fight pad GameCube style controller but the sticks are the biggest issue that I'm trying to figure out. I might not go through it but at the same time it does suck to think I can't fully unlock plant with my flimsy sticks I have right now. Maybe one day though I can do it with just what I have
Piranha Plant Should've Been Added To Super Smash Bros Ultimate On April 1st So It Could Be An April Fools Character. But Instead It Was Added On January 29th Or February 1st. Yes, I Googled It And Google Gave Me Two Answers.
Every character in smash is viable. Sakurai said they could tell from the statistics they gather that there is a 4% difference between the most played character and the least played character. _4%_ . That’s about as perfect as you can get.
4% online, and with a large casual base. Both are things that make characters like Ganondorf and Zelda appear much stronger than they will at high level in person events, and characters like Sheik much weaker. Also, I don't know what that stat is, but it looks like usage, not win rate. Those are very different stats. He also once said that Daisy had a significantly higher win rate than Peach, admitting he had no clue why since they were so similar. Which is to say, even the win rate statistics can produce odd results.
MSF has actually taken a game at a major top 8, funnily enough. Miya took game 1 against Shadic during winners finals at the Litvitational 2 early this year while messing around with the character. He then lost the next two games with the character, forcing him to switch back to G&W to take the set.
@@user-be3qc7re9o Shulk is a top tier and a great, probably the best anti meta char in Ult but no one is bothered to learn and master Monado. Kome's consistency is as good as Cosmos' and no one else had made top 8 in tours or achieved shit.
Maybe it's just me but having almost every video on the channel use the same thumbnail format of "character icon on background" feels pretty uninspiring.
