In an exclusive interview with "The West Block" host Mercedes Stephenson, Department of National Defence employee and former combat arms officer Alex Auclair shares her disturbing account of an alleged sexual assault she says she experienced at the hands of senior department executive - and the lack of support she felt when she first sought help.
And Erin O’Toole comments on the ongoing controversy and whether the former Conservative government had thoroughly vetted the former chief of the defence staff, Gen. Jonathan Vance, before his appointment.

I know there is a lot of false allegations that can go around, but this lady and others seem very genuine about their experience. This is such a tragedy. I wish them all strength and justice. There should be criminal charges. This government has failed on so many levels.

dude, i don;t know if you noticed but Vance;s WIFE was also a former victim. Aparently instead of firing him for misconduct, they got him to marry her, promoted him and allowed him to keep abusing women and be a disaster all around. So that joke of a ''man" has been literally fking up for decades and no DID anything at all. Seriously its like we're all stuck in a horror show. The guy with the pot belly, and skinny arms....trying to make recruits do push ups on TV to look tough, when we all know he can't do ANYTHING. I don't think pushups count if you're resting on your pot belly while doing them. THAT is who they covered up to protect...THAT guy. A fine example of military standards indeed, eh?

Maybe they need to check out construction as well ..... there’s no protection or support there either. Women are still taking a back seat and it’s not going to change until there is accountability.
