Everyone else was always up for supporting and they won it almost every year. Martin Sheen was the only up for Lead Actor, he was up every single year and lost out to James Gandolfini at least twice, James Spader twice too among others. He had absolutely crazy competition but still, should have won it at least once
"Hot Damn, now you're talking." So funny. I never would want President Bartlett to resign, but the humor and humility in this line, and the way Martin Sheen delivered it, made me laugh so much.
For a primarily "drama" series, I have to say that I laughed out loud at The West Wing more than I did some sitcoms at the time....some of the writing was brilliantly, sarcastically, funny
My grandpa took an ambien by accident this past Christmas and he acted exactly like this. My brothers and I found it to be the funniest thing we had ever seen. Looks and acts exactly like Sheen too which makes this scene even funnier for me.
When my grandma was in the hospital they put her on morphine for a broken leg. She thought she was in Hutzlers, an old dept store that's long gone. She said " now they will rip you off in the basement sales...." We were laughing so hard. My sister said Oh look at the scarf I bought in the basement. Just to mess with her. She said " Makes you look like a flapper whore" 😂 she thought it was the 1920s. Once we told them to take her off it....she refused to believe she said those things lol
As perfect as this scene is already, I would love for Abbey to have come and get him. Imagine his stoned reaction! So many things he could say and all of them would be adorable in my mind.
I love how jed is like “DONE!” And Leo immediately follows up with “good Sam” after his idea like “atta boy, the president is out of his mind but that’s actually a good idea.”
Actually it wasn’t planned ahead of time….. Aaron Sorkin came up with it quickly be a he wanted a reason for Bartlett to be in bed all day watching day time tv.
Leo: Mr. President, maybe you should get back to the residence. POTUS: Hmmm? The look of panic on everyone's faces was priceless. POTUS is under the influence of Rx meds in the Oval Office while the business of government is being conducted. The press would have had a field day with that one, which is why they tried to hurry him out of there. What a great show.
sad but true... anyway, there is no contest. no match. here we said "the same difference between to eat and to look someone else eating when you're starving"
@@britneyspaulding When the fictional character is infinitely superior to said sitting president... slumping president... lying in bed until 11am watching Fox News on 'Executive Time' president, than yes, people will compare him to Trump's detriment. Oh, and I'm British, and like 90% of the world that isn't America, I hold Trump in the deepest contempt. A British politician who'd pulled half as much illegal crap as he has would not just be fired, but in prison.
I had kidney stones.....excruciating pain....they admitted me because they were blocking my kidneys and shot me up with Dilaudid. I was telling the nurses how I loved them and how pretty they looked lol. I loved Lamp. That's how that stuff works lol
hes been doing that alot. he re uses things. like in the pilot of news room when he said "we reached for the stars" thats like his favorite phrase. or when in the second episode of news room the ceiling falls in his house when it falls on josh's desk in TWW. anyway west wing is still the best but news room is cool too
I love the show. Loved the scene….but…. Shouldn’t the senior staff have been panicking a little bit? What if a crisis happened in the next 15 minutes? Where is the Vice President? When will this wear off? Might they have to invoke the 25th amendment? Where is the cabinet? Remember when Toby accused Leo of a coup when Bartlet had an episode of MS? Isn’t this the same? I’m ready for the “relax dude, it’s just a funny scene from a tv show”.
They sorta expected him not being around and it's more of a briefing until he came, Seems to be that they are used to this and readily call who is in charge when things go south
The USA. "I'm seriously thinking about getting a god". "I'm seriously thinking about getting a dog". TOLD THIS TALE. Nevermind. I am seriously thinking of shilling people with this back given to me by the mother of the Queen of England. Oh and shilling them again😅😅 Toby or not Toby. "I'm seriously thinking about getting a dog". My mind is sharp.😅😅
Back. Given again in service. I hate this role. As I imagine no offence Victor Orban clasping paws with whom and whom and yup peacemakers in our Himes, Jim. Only A Yankee knight in the Cort of ...king 'arfer momentum😊
Even I have to disagree with you on this one. President Bartlet truly does love America and is trying to do what he believe is best for the Unites States. Baaaaracccck Hussein Obama was in it for the power and glory.
