Fantastic documentary! As a time served journeyman its great knowing there are a whole line of people behind you talking to you about the trade. Came upon this video after catching up with another wheelwrights content the other side of the pond. Please PLEASE keep up the great work.

Given that the wheel is one of the great inventions alongside fire, there should be government programs aimed at keeping such skills alive. I am a woodworker specializing in pre-industrial woodwork. I use old tools where possible and use old methods. There has been a bit of a resurgence here as technology advances at lightning speed. It does my heart good to see a man living off his skills rather than the usual office work. My wife works in a bank and, while she makes great money, her work is all ones and zeroes. In a significant power outage there is little she can do. I just light a lantern and keep on chopping out mortises. A heartfelt cheers to this man! Hopefully we'll see another film soon. Maybe a boat builder, joiner, or timber framer?

"Trial and error, or tradition" Wrote George Sturt, the skills were passed down through the Centuries, handed down from Father to son, or taught to young men new to the trade. There are no manuals, no schools, just dedicated craftsmen who loved their work. They are the true craftsmen of their day, the Wheelwrights. Hope we never see their demise, as with other ancient skills.
