Would love seeing more healer builds covered, especially in 'one for all game modes' format. Like... the infamous heal chrono for example? People just won't stop talking about it!
Perfect timing. Was getting ready to jump back into GW2, after having taken a break these past few months. Was intent on trying a new class, and dip my PVE toes into PVP. Found your "Arcane Staff Support Tempest" PVP guide, and was about to try it out after getting some food. Going to watch this as I eat. Looking forward to see how such a build adapts to WvW & PVE playstyles. You've got me all exited now. Great channel by the way, love your videos.
I love heal tempest, but generally use dagger/wh for more robust boon coverage. I can see this being super useful though in fights with much higher heal pressure, like Boneskinner or Matthias. Good stuff!
Love these build vids. I have played a Cele temp in wvw for some time now. The changes that went into staff for pvp modes have really made staff ele shine imo.
Some extra notes: Dagger/warhorn is able to provide better boon support & deals alot more damage. Its definitely worth it to invest in both weaponsets. The damage output for staff is quite low so for staff harriers/minstrel should be the standard pick. For dagger/warhorn cele should be the standard pick. Ele healing doesn't scale well with healing power. Cele is only ~7% less healing then harrier and ~12% less then minstrel For most strikes/fractals/Dungeons you can run the fire traitline (and optionally swap out monk runes for leadership runes. It should still be enough healing and you can bench ~19k dps. air can also sometimes be a decent alternative for the arcane traitline. Air offers Fury support incase the rest of the group isn't able to provide. Earth is a good pick when tanking QTP. Gale song is completely unnecessary for PvE. You already provide more then enough protection uptime for your group. Harmonius conduit is a very good alternative for invigorating torrents incase the encounter has alot of CC. Good alternative utility skills: Signet of water: for extra ranged aoe heal Lightning flash: for low cd teleport when doing specific raid encounters. Frost bow: strong healing AA and up to 550 defiance break Lightning hammer: extra knockback & CC, especially on Samarog Feel the burn: extra dps & might support Glyph of elementals: (water) very strong AoE burst heal, condi cleanse & breakbar damage, (fire) good amount of extra dps imcase you don't need extra heals/,rebound For WvW i'd personally recommend d/d instead (with transmute aura's and flash freeze as extra utility). You can generate tons of aura's (especially frost and shocking). Shocking aura provides good CC and frost aura has an incredible transmute skill that grants alot of healing. When used with powerful aura's, transmute aura's and elemental bastion you simply provide lots of powerful auras, give tons of healing and have incredible condi cleanse at the same time.
Very good video. I was not far off with my PVE build compared to your PVE build the only difference is I like to use cleric stats, I find it better than harria stats, it's more like a tank healer. The WVW and PVP builds are most helpful, I will try them out. Thank you, for making this video. Subaru Angel is there name of my tempest/staff/healer.
@@Arthropanzel No, not 100% uptime on ala. I can keep protection/regeneration up 100% and ala 80% I also give a lot of agro to the mobs, the cleric stats help me tank a ton of dmg and the stability protection and regeneration allow me to stack my heals on my group, If I use the Harriers stats I can not tank dmg at all and die a lot. 'A dead healer is not a good healer at all. I use Cleric stats and I never die. I like to stand there and take so much dmg, down to 1 hp, proc stability and then burst heal and layer all my heal skills on the spot within 5 seconds giving 100% hp to all.
Extremely fun build enough for me to remake Ele after it was my first class ever, deterred by the complexity, like several times and remade it 4 times for me to buy a char slot, use 80 tomes and try this for WvW with bought gear and sigils for the first time. Best fun I had in the over year I've played this games seriously last night. Makes me wanna get Ascended gear lol. Mad fun coming from a basic Cele FB lol. Exactly the gameplay I wanted from this game. Staff/Range/Healer/Buffer.
staff with arcane and daggers with fire are the two options, i wouldnt run staff with fire. The difference between those two is that staff has more utility and healing, and the dagger variant has more cleansing and might generation
air trait give fury with aura though, right? edit, nvm seeing wvw, I'm not gonna trait air for staff tempest in wvw unless I'm dps, but might as well use other weapon lol
@@JRZTT i would not change staff for anything else in wvw distanced support is too strong. Overloads still are around you, but u can provide all kind of support to squad tail while being on comm for example, lot of stab, superspeed, ton of range cc, it perfect for wvw . The best is u don't need to buttonmush in stuff, u make decisions where, when and what skills to use
@@vlad190 I meant if I go dps I would probably not use staff, though dagger can provide shock aura and depend on off hand, fire, magnetic or frost aura for aura share tempest.
The only added value from the lightning traitline comes from Fury, so unless your group is struggling with Fury uptime you want to avoid the air traitline. Just pick arcane for better healing or fire for more damage/some extra condi cleanse (and you can take earth when tanking QTP or SH).
not really because it assumes you are healing someone next to you, you are healing in small increments over time not very reactive, and only gets worse in unideal situations. If you test it out on a golem boss it might be good, but i dont think it plays like a healer or is even that good, however if you want a healing chrono build you can check that out on guildjen.com
As support tempest main this video made me suffer A LOT. Promoting 1 build+gear for all gamemodes just dosnt work for support tempest... In pve you need the boon duration from harrier and minstrel is trolling at many instanced encounters cause of toughness. In wvw you can't play monk runes cause that destroys the main purpose of ele in squad - which is cleanses. Without trooper runes you cant keep up with other secondary supports. Also arcane traitline is a waste in wvw, the 1% rez from Arcane Resurrection is straight up useless. You need to run fire for the cleanses from auras and Powerful Aura is better for the same reason. Another problem is Gale Song, you want to run Unstable Conduit in order to convert an additional earth aura to stability. normally im a huge fan of you, but this video i just smh. It promotes players to run a severely suboptimal build, that trolles your own team members. if new players run this build, they wont even understand that thoughness messes up encounters neither will they feel the true potential of supp tempest in wvw. just big thumbs down sry.
Staff ele (heal) was always a build I liked how it looked but never really gotten into it. Maybe this will push me a bit to actually try it out. Think ele in general is a class I really don't get bored of playing it. As for content I think so vary from so many game styles to game modes that not really sure what to suggest. Do keep it up, imo really underrated with all the effort you put in and the knowledge you share. Lupusus.8732
