-Hello everyone and welcome to my channel! This channel is about my life as a farmer, and I hope you take the time to watch all my videos! I am a third generation dairy /crop farmer who loves what I do and want to share it with you! We farm in Michigan where we grow hay, corn, soybeans, and wheat, while milking almost 200 cows twice a day. So enjoy the videos and feel free to like, comment, and share my videos!

I love the smell of a cow barn in the morning. It just seems to make me feel more alive, also makes you look forward to good old fresh air. Love those early morning chores and hard work. It does not get any better than a dairy farm. God Bless Kip. Enjoy your nite out with the wife and children.

Sir I just enjoy your videos yet my father passed away and was a dairy farmer in the 60s. If he was alive today he would be watching these other than sports like he used too. He absolutely loved being a farmer and was in the Army too. In a way I feel every day I watch your vids and another farm videos I’m representing him. He is looking now on me and you with his big smile. And yes, I love when you bring life, love, respect, family and perseverance into your focus, something this world is in need of! If you put up a neck rail on that bunk and a gate at the end I think the feeding in the dry cow lot would be so much easier. No more chasing run away cows! Let's Go!!!👍

We did the restaurant thing with our first child in 1975. We went from North of Port Huron into Sarnia for Fish n Chips! We were home maybe 5 minutes from that trip and her water broke! We never took the chance at going far from home when she was close to the due date with the next 3 babies! The last one, #4, didn't matter, he was an intentional home birth with a midwife out of Richmond, era 1986.

I think it’s required in washington state as well. Seems like putting it on the fields is an excellent reuse of the manure. Basically they’ve been running the dairies out of here with their new regulations.

Kip's farm is 45 miles from any large body of water, ground water for wells are deep in his area. There would be quite a bit of filtration before the "hazardous" chemicals ever reached any creek or rivers. Plus some of there fields are muck land, plenty of carrots, onions and such grown on that soil, high fertility and quite porous.

@@JAvery-vb9lm Check Imlay City, Michigan on a map. His farm is at the "base" of the Thumb of the Lower Peninsula. I spent my first 53 years just North of Port Huron, Michigan and attempted to farm just inland of Lakeport Michigan.

Power without wieght is useless but too much wieght for your actual power is also useless. I added 2 more sets of wheel wieghts on my 520 so i have 3 sets now totaling about 720 and then also added 440 in front wieghts and i plowed snow so nicely without using my loader. I plan to make back blade extensions so i can cover my tracks and now i feel the old girl can handle of coarse im gonna get new chains because the one is almost useless since they cobbled together by gramps a long time ago for the 13.6x36 vs now 13.9x36 that i replaced with

Manure reallly doesn't freeze, because it has heat in it right? I know it's very combustible.

When its in a pile, the outside will freeze but the center stays warm. Spread on a pad it will freeze, but thaws quickly with any bit of sun

Oh it freezes I remember when we had the dairy cows and sometimes it got so cold we could not use the liquid manure system and had to make a pile outside I remember well into the summer b4 the middle did not have frozen in it we would take off the outsides and haul it out and than wait a few days and go around it again but we are talking temps well below zero for many days in a row and we milked 250 plus cows
