The White Stripes appeared on Rove [live] in Australia on October 14, 2003 and performed "The Hardest Button to Button" from the album "Elephant". Jack and Meg give an awesome performance. (peanut butter)
I really like those "extra" guitar notes he puts in this version (as compared to the Blackpool Lights performance) at the beginning of the song and starting again around the "thump thump thump" drive at 1.35. It gives the song a powerful feel like it's moving forward, kind of like the official video, in fact. Very effective. Jack is the best, gah.
If jack white was killed and split open, he would be overflowing with unique amazing trippy guitar riffs and the world would be flooded with it cuz hes so awesome.
A lot more emotionally-driven than the original. I love the original, but this one had a lot of flair from a vocal and guitar-playing point of view. Great stuff.
no no this aint Grunge or anything you wanna call it.. its the White Stripes.. there one of a kind.. and its gonna be like that forever :D long live the master Jack White !
agreed! i love how he always changes it up! unless i heard it wrong, does he not say "i had a brain that felt like peanut butter" instead of "pancake batter"? for some reason, that really made me laugh. that's what's so great about their live shows. such great energy!
Um, lets try this: Step 1 - Watch video Step 2 - Read comments He knows its pancake batter. Jack just says peanut butter in this performance. There ya go.
@Lafayettebluesman Not only that, Jack recently hinted about the Stripes getting back to the studio. I don't know when, this new year or next, but I'm sure it's going to happen one of these days. Their chemistry is undeniable, and they both know that.
