French guy here : The part with the guys working for the city (hi-viz clothing) trying to explain that fishing near the bridge was forbidden for the day because they were setting up fireworks (boom boom) for the evening; was hilarious to watch but must have felt frustrating to experience! Glad everyone could enjoy the fishing trip in the end!

It was a great video Carl, really made you all had a few barbel in the end.

A little tip to help prevent your rod from going up and over the rest when barbel fishing is to get a knife and dig a 2-3 inch deep hole roughly the diameter of your rod butt where you want to rest it. The next point of failure will be the rest itself so make sure it's as stable as you can get it
