Ben truly was a genius because BMTH are the only british band to get big first in england then the states accepted them, Look at Architects they had six albums prior to their massive blow up in the states, AA truly were ahead of the curb and I gotta give them so much respect for that.

Regarding them not having any money when they first moved over - As a Brit, someone living in Dubai as a kid normally means their family will have moved for very lucrative busniess work, I suspect their survival for the first few years was heavily funded by the parents (In particuler Ben's, if they took up the main cost of bigger stuff like the RV and the studio) - total speculation but thats what I reckon! your vids are sick mate
@ReSliSt
@ReSliSt 3 года назад
Regarding their beginnings in the US it's probably on purpose that everything is opaque, there is one interview where they mentioned that they didn't have visas (it's incredibly difficult to get those if you're not already famous) and they might have been living in the US illegally for a while supported by their parents money (who also bought them an RV) you can imagine that Ben's parents in Dubai must have been rich to a point that they never really had to worry about running out of money. Pretty sure they will never really take about all of this openly due to potential legal risks.

A lot of people mistake everyone who comes from or lives in Dubai as being insanely wealthy. I went to school with Ben Bruce in Dubai, was good friends with his sister and still live in Dxb. If you moved all expats back to their home countries, the majority are middle class. However, with Dubai being tax free, it makes people appear wealthier than they actually are. Worth mentioning when we were in school, dubai was nothing like it is today. It was barely even a city. Now it is something else entirely

As far as their music goes Paramore obviously changed the game for modern female fronted bands and even though they’re latest album After Laughter is a pop album, it still has a lot to offer musically and lyrically. Their life performances are amazing too!

And she was a industry plant
@MandyMusiq
@MandyMusiq 3 года назад
@@Yusoo8 I don’t understand why people still believe this to this day. Label execs wanted to sign her as a solo artist and she agreed under the condition that she could make the music she wanted WITH her bandmates as Paramore. She didn’t want to be turned into a second Avril Lavigne, which is what atlantic originally had in mind. Hayley’s always been upfront about the contract and it was Josh that started this „industry plant“ argument because he was tired of not getting more attention than he thought he was entitled to as one of the main song writers. But I would say that it’s definitely the label’s fault, not Hayley’s. Taylor has said in an interview that they’ve always been aware of the contract and that it doesn’t matter to them who’s name is on it as long as they can all make music together. So i think calling her an industry plant is inaccurate.

You gotta do a series on Joey Sturgis, he literally shaped the sound of an era of music, he had a pivotal roll in the success of many of our favorite core bands. Also, check out if I die first. I first heard Asking Alexandria in 2009 in my toxic and abusive (now ex) boyfriend’s bedroom while his best friend got on his computer and told us how dope this band was. He played I Was Once, Possibly, Maybe, Perhaps a Cowboy King. That kid who played that song that day is now my boyfriend of almost 9 years. And Stand Up and Scream from that day forward became my favorite album of all time.

I agree with what you said about their first year in the US. It really doesn’t make sense how they actually pulled that off. I feel like the fact it was around the time of the 08 financial crisis too didn’t help their situation at all. Very interesting!

I don’t normally listen to sponsored ads, I usually just skip them, but that merch is fire, especially the last shirt, I love that stuff, we need more.

AA's first album was amazing. Candlelit Dinner was one of the best. Glad you mentioned it. This album and Miss May I's album "Apologies are for the Weak" I always go back to. Really enjoying these videos. Thanks Cozy Representative.

Definitely dig the heavier band this time 'round. Great video, CR. Looking forward to the next one. Parkway Drive would be a hell of a ride, too, methinks.

I always have and still prefer Reckless & Relentless over Stand Up & Scream.. Just felt more serious, more polished.. Even being there for all of it and the big craze, i just really wasn’t a fan until that second album came out.

I saw an interview that said Ben tricked the band into coming to the US by telling them they had got a record deal. Then they got here and he told them it was a lie. If i can find it I'll link it. Love your videos btw

That might be a part 3 unless he can pack it all into a video. that’s still a little bit aways. I mean I’m just going off of this video cause he went into so much depth with their beginnings. So much shit and drama happened with R&R and FDTD. The changing of sound and styles and the beginnings of the backlash and criticisms from it. Also with Danny almost losing his voice I think. Crazy times.

You can’t cover deathcore without doing AS I LAY DYING! And Tim Lambesis went through some good ol JC(Jonny Craig) type drama. The whole trying to kill the wife thing. It’s so juicy lol
