I’ve had this deck for a while & haven’t worked together with it as much as I initially thought I would. It’s mainly due to my hesitation and the fact that I just didn’t have a real grasp on how to work with this deck. Thank you for sharing your ways, I definitely took notes. Fantastic video

I’ve struggled with archetype decks since I started working with Tarot either because I felt like they were somehow redundant to Tarot or I got bogged down thinking of them only in a literary way. But I’ve since found my way with the citadel oracle so I might look into the pocket version of this too. ❤
I can totally understand how Citadel has been a window into this type of archetypal exploration, but with its lovely link to the gaming world. I don't own it, but it has been on my wishlist. 🖤

I have seen others mention the pocket version coming out soon, I think I may have to get a copy purely because I just love small things and I also struggle with the size. I believe there is a pocket version in a tin being released in April 2024. I’ve preordered it despite there not being any photos yet, as I also love this deck but struggle with its size and struggle to shuffle it.

Hi 👋, this is the only deck I became frustrated with shape, size and at the time wasn't a lover of collage as an expression. So I passed it on in 2020 only to get a 2nd hand one last year. I don't shuffle it, it flinging everywhere pisses me off. So I have repurposed some wooden bingo tiles I found in a charity shop. I keep the deck in order and I'll chose a tile from the bag. Big up @Shuffle Tarot as it was based on her idea. Yes the shuffle I miss out on but I get where I need to go. The comic card, has either made me laugh or Ive felt melancholy from its energy. Its the eyes. I like the card though... if youve got things like the destroyer and venom, why not a funny eyed cat comic? Yeah starborn is irritating, the way my mind goes to love n light, makes me clench my teeth. Not pulled it yet... so I will see if I will take a black sharpie to it or not. WUK universe, I agree I loved the tarot. It was the first deck I bought for myself. It was the first deck that was available that allowed me to step away from colonialism and its offspring and let me just intuit the tarot. The animal deck, I like how basic it is and how my personal associations mean it is a deck that keeps giving. The 3 eggs are annoying. Archetypes, big energies that I tend to work with over a period of time and Im good with that. The alchemical deck, I have not been interested in at all so far. So not bought. But props to K.Krans. it sounds like over the years it has been a transformative life experience creating the 4 decks. Decks that have reached and had a repetitive impact on so many people. Hey Jo, I loved hearing all your experiences. Thanks for sharing. It's always fab to come onto chatty comment. The tiles are a great way to adapt your pulling technique. I know a few folks online do similar with dice and such, too. I was also told a mini might be released, although the mini tarot was too small for me, and I parted with it, lol. So we'll see. The tarot felt refreshing, didn't it. I hear you on the eggs in the Oracle. I don't even love the fantastical animal inclusions really tbh. I think that's another reason it sees a little less use. But I do really love her use of colour for each animal again, plus line work. It's nice to have the room for personal associations, too. Anyways, thanks for sharing. I'll be intrigued to hear if you ever do anything with the starborn card in the future. 🖤
I'm late to this 😬 but I want to say this is the BEST review of this deck I've ever watched. I have this deck and I have a love/hate relationship with it. The New Age shit sits weird with me, and I literally have the Starborn card removed from the deck lmao. I actually don't even really like the artwork, but something about it SPEAKS in a way none of Kim Krans' other decks do. Maybe I just want a good archetype deck and this is the best one I've found? I almost screamed when you mentioned considering making your own archetype deck because I've been considering that too (just for myself). I love archetypes and working with them but none of the decks I find seem to fit the way I see them or something. Also my guidebook is all crackley too.

I do enjoy the art, but I also get what you mean about there not really being much archetype competition in card land. I’ve seen one other and really didn’t like the sound/look. I would love to make my own and add in those I think that are missing that I feel connected. Also there’s some I would definitely name change. I wouldn’t choice-fully use some of the terms in this, like shaman. That said, I had such epic explorations with this. So thankfully a punchy experience, despite these bits. That’s funny about your book too. It’s odd right? Not anything that bothers me, but curious 😝 If you decide to make you own, I need to see 😍😍
I have to admit I am not a fan of the Comic card, but I don't HATE it. I've also conveniently never drawn it so who is really to say. 😅 ETA I own and ADORE this deck and will be buying the mini size when I can justify it.
LOL, it definitely stands out from the rest, doesn't it? While I kinda love it, it does seem like a weird choice in comparison to the rest. But the whole unveiling of it when we all initially got decks at release was so funny.
Love this deck . I find the card stock very frustrating.. they are very clumpy to shuffle. She has a pocket version that’s arriving shortly to my door. I wrote to the creator as she was announcing the creation about six months ago to BEG for a more slippery card stock Sure hoping They are very very powerful. In lieu of shuffling .. I lay them all out like a mandala . And pick from the array
I can see why laying them out is a favourable approach. They can clump for sure. I think I’ve got several decks I use often that do this. So while I don’t love it, I forget it’s a thing 😂 but it does make shuffling unnecessarily difficult. I’m curious about the pocket version for sure. I doubt the creator has a lot of say in the stock sadly, but I suppose they can always pass the information on 🥰
