Redman is so great, I bartended a show with him and Method Man back in 2012 and I'll never forget his green room "needs". It was a bottle of sprite and 'purple skittles' meaning the berry flavored skittles. They were both incredibly down to earth and the best part was watching them sitting together showing each other funny stuff on their phones. Redman made the entire room crack up so many times. It was no different than hanging with those two guys who do nothing but smoke and make jokes left and right. Love that man.

Redman had said that he knew that the other episodes of Cribs were of rented mansions for the show and he didn't want to be about that. So he invited them over to the first place he bought with his own money. He only stays that part of the time (to record) or when he's passing through. They did a revisit episode like 15 or so years later, and he still has the place. He changed it up some, and fixed the screen. The doorbell's still a couple of wires, though. But yeah, Redman's still around and is one of the most influential rappers out there. He's just completely down-to-earth and doesn't put on airs for anybody. It's also why he still has his money while most of the folks who'd ever been on the show, well...don't. Big ups to Redman for going completely off-script and making the segment of Cribs everybody remembers.

Love how Redman was one of the few people that didn't fake where he lived for the show. That alone makes his crib the best one.

Redman's money box saving method unironically made me save up enough money in tips to move me and all my collection from oregon to ohio, so Legit this cribs episode was top tier and actually helped me IRL, Redman's a friggin' beast.

In 2001, Redman appeared on an episode of MTV Cribs and showcased his Staten Island home which, in contrast to the luxurious homes usually featured in the series, was described by XXL magazine as "small and grimey". Speaking to Fresh Pair, Redman explained that MTV had already picked out a few houses for him to make his appearance in, but Redman did not want to appear fake, and insisted the episode be aired at his actual residence. The TV crew had to be reduced to two people because that was the only number of people that could fit in his house LOL

This episode is a Core memory for me because of Redman's segment. I didn't even remember that Bow Wow and T-Pain were in the episode until I checked the timestamps. Redman showed his actual home in its authentic state and I think he's the only person to do it without pissing viewers off somehow. Okay, maybe a neat freak or germophobe would've lost their minds but I've never heard anyone get truly mad at what Redman showed us. SO ICONIC.

I remember in an interview, the people from MTV cribs came in at like 8AM, after a party or something. So it explains why redmans in bed and why his cousin's on the floor 😂

I'm still sad knowing that there are lost episodes of this show since most of the places were rented or have sold. Redman used his real house because he said his Mom & friends would make fun of him for faking😂 Glad I watched the show all the time when I was a kid😅 Edit: T-Pain said 2008, so I was 18 & graduating high school when this came out😪

As someone who built a hidden room in their house, the novelty wore off in like two months and now I just leave it open 99% of the time 😂

16:15 I had a bookshelf door that led to a small attic space in my bedroom when I was a kid. It was cool at first, but Chris is absolutely right. The novelty of it wears off pretty quick. I wanted to turn it into some cool hangout zone but it ended up just being storage lol.

Okay I commented this on the last Cribs video you did, but the Jackass episode of Cribs (its on youtube) is a must-see. Chris Pontius is living out of his car, Ryan Dunn sleeps in a literal crawl space in his basement and Steve-O just actively starts destroying his place throughout his segment. Highly recommend it.

My favorite episodes are the ones where the celebrity has a pretty lowkey lifestyle. Being able to relate to a celebrity is always cool, but it especially made me learn that not having the best of everything isnt all that success is about.

This was the best Cribs episode ever! Red and Meth are fkn great! To this day I don't know 100% if it really was them, but playing either COD or SOCOM in the early 2000s, we'd have 2 players join us from time to time that were friends with our clan leader. He claimed it was Red and Meth, they claimed to be (only when we were in private/ custom clan lobbies) and sounded just like Red and Meth. Screen names were some variations of BrickCity and JohnnyBlaze. I'd like to think I played with those 2, but still today I can't say I'm 100% on that. Either way these 2 were funny as hell together, and the 2 players online were just as funny messing with us/each other!
