A little film all about one of our most iconic British species - the badger! Find out how to help and enjoy badgers in your garden, how to identify a badger sett, and what to do if you find an injured badger.
About The Wildlife Garden Project:
Imagine if everybody in the UK made just a few small changes in their garden to help our British wildlife. Think of the giant patchwork that could be created, all the habitats that could be formed, and all the mouths that could be fed. And you can do as much or as little as you like!
Here at The Wildlife Garden Project, our aim is to provide the information and inspiration for people across the country to create their own little patch for wildlife. So our team of volunteers has assembled together more articles, videos, photos and tips than you can shake a stick at, all in one handy location - www.wildlifegardenproject.com.
Get practical advice and information on gardening, identify the new creatures who have visited your garden, or find out more about them in our ever growing wildlife section and learn new tips and techniques with our videos. Ask for and offer advice and connect with other wildlife gardeners on our forum, and browse through our photos or even add your own in our gallery.
It doesn't matter whether you live in the countryside or in a city, whether you own 50 acres or just a balcony, everyone can do their bit. So sign up, watch the videos, read the info and join in the discussions in the forum, but most importantly, GET WILDLIFE GARDENING!

The other night I found a family of four living at the bottom of my garden. They are playful and very cute to watch, I set up my wildlife cam to watch them so I don't disturb them. #StopTheCull

I have both badgers and foxes visit my wildlife friendly garden in the outer reachs of London and hand feed them. From my experience they do not become get used to humans but to locations. My last hand feedable fox who would come when called, at set times of the day, would completely ignore my calls if i came across him in the road. The badgers, which have been hand fed for 5 or 6 years, are still nervous of any sudden movement and will scuttle off to the shadows. They only approach if you are quiet and still so in no way could they be described as used to humans even after all this time, only perhaps, tolerant of them.

I used to live just up the road from secret world. Often took birds or animals there. Where I live now we have communal gardens and have been banned from feeding the badgers, foxes and birds. Really upset about this, and it was because someone saw a couple of rats. About ten yards from my flat is a small narrow area of land, that is left alone, and I wonder if that's where the badgers come from. We are a few miles from farmland and forest. Was amazed when I saw the badger the first time.

You're recording some of the dialogue using a mono microphone - nothing wrong with that. But you only get the sound through to one speaker in the first part of it, which is not so good. But most likely this cheap little adapter can help in future videos: Instead of plugging the mic directly into your camera (or whatever recording device you are using), simply put this thing in between: kortlink.dk/pn8s It won't turn the sound into stereo, but it should get the mono sound to both channels.

I have watched this lovely ladies videos and I know she is a very special human who loves these beautiful creatures. However I am concerned that the information discussed can be used by the sadistic bastards who hunt these lovely creatures.

If I could stop them and the foxes digging up my garden then I'd help them in whichever way I can as I do not want to deter them. I need to somehow encourage them to dig elsewhere. I've tried putting out food so they don't need to dig but the local cats eat it and I don't want to attract rats close to the house ?! Thanks for sharing. Subbed 👍🏻

PS. I am BBC and not here to profit or promote. I am here for the very dear friends that I had toabandon in 2011... no, not easy, far from it. My relationship break up was married to divorcefrom then-reality.I have hours of Cornwall Badgers, and what becomes of them is not entirely up to us. Is it?If you'd like to see the film, then connect. It is most, most extraordinary, I promise you. Yes!Mark, BBC.
