Such a great panel, it's reminds me Supernatural panels at SDCC! The same vibe. I adore Meg and Drake - they're such a sweethearts and I can't wait to see them as Mary and John in the show. Also I always love how Danni comments Jensen's statements in such a funny way. I love they chemistry ❤️ And Tom Welling as Samuel Campbell - this is awesome!

I saw the pilot and i liked it now I got watch the next episode I think it was on last night. Keep up the great work I'm loving the storyline and am so greatful your bringing back the lore. So happy for the anckles and crew . So proud of you all .
I was there and they were super nice and it really felt like I went to another SPN convention somehow. Also I knew something was up when I saw security behind the screen shadows in the middle of the premiere but didn’t realize what was going to happen. Jensen really shocked us when he announced Tom’s entrance.

@@purplebutterfly5366 I think the main problem alot of skeptics are worried about is that from all the trailers and previews it looks like they "changed canon", because in the original SPN show John did not start hunting until Mary died, but in this prequel John and Mary are hunting together, so it doesn't make sense. And I can understand that, but the fact is the original SPN show also changed alot of things and "canons" too. And we don't really know the context of the changes in the prequel, there would be mind wipes or it could be set in a alternate universe we don't know. Jensen and Robbie have already assured the fans that they won't change canon and that everything will eventually make sense and will tie into SPN canon in ep 13. So instead of judging the show before it's released, it's better to just wait and see what happens and be patient with it. I think many people are too quick to judge something without watching it first. Some people have already watched the first ep and most of them who have watched it have said that it's good and most of the reviews have been positive.
Not that I've ever been to a convention, but I wonder if Jensen will try to get some of TW cast onto a few Supernatural cons in the near future? It would be amazing for them to get a taste of the SPNFamily they've become a part of.

and Mary should be the alpha in this considering Mary has been hunting her entire life while John is only just beginning to learn about the supernatural world. I hope it won't be too woke either
Agree and thats the real story, when they meet their mom in supernatural shes a badass hunter. And besides her theres a lot of other badass women in supernatural, thank "god" its a natural part of the show and not some forced woke thing.
Holy shit!!!! So I have a feeling of how they can make everything that has been happening so far on The Winchesters make sense about what happened on Supernatural. So? I was always wondering why they changed the story of how they met. In supernatural, John has no clue about hunters until after Mary dies. I always wondered, why Mary made the deal with yellow eyes in the first place. The episode when Dean goes back to prevent that deal from happening, didn't changed the deal from happening. But the deal with yellow eyes still happened. What if the original deal with yellow eyes was to save John. Now that the Winchesters shows that John is a hunter, there can be a point where Mary is so in love with John and wants out of the hunter life and she makes the deal with yellow eyes to make John forget everything. And then she bumps into John again and makes their first meeting more normal. So in hindsight, the entire show can make sense if the deal with yellow eyes makes it all change to what SPN originally had.
I agree, I think it will revolve around the deal Mary made with yellow eyes. Perhaps even in order for Mary to live a normal life with John he had to forget about hunting and the supernatural world.
Oh shit and i thought this will be about the kids of both Sam and Dean. But it is actually a prequel of their parents. I wonder if the yellow eyed demon will be on this to. Anyway i really wanted a sequel but i would give this prequel a chance anyhow because i already know everything about The Winchesters parent anyway.
Part of the joy of the prequel is to tell us we don't know everything about John and Mary. They've created a way to give more context to the characters through a mystery that doesn't destroy the canon but rather allows us fans to further explore the history of the universe. I think its a fun concept and hope they get to continue moving forward with it.
I have mixed feelings about this new show because the whole point of Mary's view about hunting was that she didn't want that life for her children and John wasn't supposed to know about hunting until after she died however I know when Dean goes back in time to kill yellow eyes and yellow eyes kills Mary's parents John gets a glimpse of that life but until Mary died the children had a normal life so how has John become a hunter? My other issue is that John's father was a men of letters John thought he was abandoned by him and never learned about men of letters so how can they change the story that much do they not realize that fans of supernatural will remember all these things?
did you even watch this panel and listen to what showrunner Robbie Thompson has said? Both he and Jensen are aware of all the inconsistencies and they have already said many times that they are not changing canon. Robbie said that everything will eventually make sense and match SPN canon and all the answers will be revealed in ep 13, but there will be clues about what's going on throughout the eps. Not knowing the truth and why there are inconsistencies is part of the mystery, so let's just be patient and wait and see what happens and have faith in Jensen and Robbie and the writers.
I had similar concerns, but I'm waiting patiently for episode 13 to explain it. Here's my theory: Mary uses magic to erase John's memories of going hunting with her in an attempt to protect him. Since she's slowly falling in love with John, she doesn't want him to be traumatized by hunting in the same way that he was traumatized by going to war before they met. So, she erases John's memories of the hunting lifestyle, so that they can have a chance at a normal, safe life. And that's how it connects to "The Song Remains The Same" when Mary is forced to confess to John that she has been a hunter all her life. But then Michael the archangel erases John's memory of Mary being a hunter. Mary didn't know that angels existed until "Song Remains The Same", which was after John and Mary got married. So, they can't use an angel as an explanation for why John didn't know Mary was a hunter until after she died. So, that theory is ruled out. Until episode 13 comes out, that's the only theory that makes sense to me as of right now.

Jared is currently producing two shows and acting in one. He's not slated to be in the prequel for the first season. But they're still waiting to see about the 2nd season. However, Jensen has been consulting with Jared about the prequel and Jared has been vocal about lending a hand with the younger cast members. Jared has repeatedly stated that he is in full support of Jensen with the prequel.

Yes they've had their misunderstandings but they've both worked it out and are still close friends and still support each other. It's mainly the fans who want to cause trouble between them with all the silly "fan wars"
Just dawned on me, there is no way we are seeing Misha Collins as Cas because his meatsuit, Jimmy Novak was born in 1973. Jimmy is a baby during the time this show is set.
not necessarily, Misha could still come back as Cass in the present time when Dean is in, remember Dean is narrating the story from the present time, he could meet up with Cass sometime along his journey

That seemed awkward for her that at the beginning of the panel, she was handed a Supernatural magazine that had Jensen and Jared on the cover! She quickly put that down...
Actually, he wasn't purposefully excluded. Jensen actually explained this already and so did Jared. Jensen has since been consulting with Jared about the prequel and Jared has also offered to help the younger cast members with anything that they need. It's literally all over Twitter and IG. Although, Jared won't be in the first season of TW, there's no word yet if he will be involved in the 2nd season. Jared is currently very busy with 2 shows under his belt. Please take a moment to get the story right.

Think about it, where is the gain from "pretending" like everything is chill when it isn't? SPN is over and they don't have to participate in comic-cons with each but they choose to do so. If Jared really felt slighted and completely disrespected, it's no skin off of his back if he never speaks to Jensen. So why does he still? Why would he meet with the new cast and offer help to them? Why would he even tell people on his Twitter feed to watch the prequel? These men have known each other for 17 years. They know each other's quirks and flaws. They know the truth of what's up. If they both say that everything was chill, then I believe them. I don't have any reason not to. They're grown. If there were really an issue, they would be done with each other.
Do people actually believe Jared didn't know anything about The Winchesters? He and Jensen literally answered questions about it on Instagram live during the lockdown (though it was obviously still in the early stages of conceptualisation at the time)
@@robinson4979 "the gain" for Jared to pretend like everything's fine when it's not, is because Jensen's star has been rising post Supernatural whereas Jared's has not. The last thing Jared would want to do right now is make himself more alienated or obsolete in the public eye by battling with Jensen. Plus it's the fact that these two are famous. For people who are famous, there is more incentive to gloss over any problems, because they are in the public eye.
It was a press issue the start. A newspaper released the info before it was in writing so to speak. Jensen had every intention of talking to Jared. They totally discussed it after the fact. They are cool. It is hard when you are in a full time TV show like Walker. They have discussed it in spn
The time to first mention it to Jared was when you say "hey Jared I had this funny idea last night with the wife..." not after you've written the script, met with the studio, got approval, and now you're saying "hey well the paper released it too soon." It was a crappy thing to do. Especially to somebody you worked with day and night for more than 15 years. Just completely changed my view of Jensen, which I never thought would happen.

"We're sticking to the lore." Well you already failed. John didn't know about hunting until after Mary died. Mary didn't hunt with friends, she hunted with her family Samuel and Deane. Demons weren't common back then. The trailer showed John and Mary meeting when Mary was on a hunt, that's not how it happened. Mary bumped into John when she was coming out of a theater and they went and had coffee.

Also from recent trailers it shows us that John and Mary met and introduced each other before the hunt. Also in the prequel Mary could very well have hunted with her family, but in the prequel Mary's father Samuel goes missing so she's going to find her father with the help of her hunting friends. Also the original SPN changed canon too, in S5 John found out about the supernatural world and that Mary was a hunter even before Dean was born, but then his memories of the supernatural were erased. Also in SPN they changed John's history with his father. So even on the original SPN show, many lores and canons were changed.

Why, Why produce a well established show and then change a significant integral part of the show? John started hunting after Mary died!!!! Ugh . How can the producers come up with the idea of John and Mary hunting when it couldn’t have ever happen. Ugh. Switching the storyline and for sure we will see switching the lore! Especially with Robbie as he is known for. As a Supernatural fan I can’t accept this farce.
they have said it many times already, they won't change canon so stop making assumptions and jumping to conclusions. And don't pretend that the original SPN show didn't change canon because they did, SPN had a long history of retconning itself

Jensen, i saw the first episode it looks great BuT.. The 2 other characters the gay guy and the indien girl make the show cheesy and not serious.. Or you need to take them out or you need to change them make them less cheesy. The jokes and silliness of the characters of the gay guy are very bad.. I cant stand him.. Its really cheesy and lame.. Its what brings the show down in ny opinion. And ofcours don't make it to woke!! I can smell it in the air 🙄
