How come the wind rises so underrated among Ghibli movies. This is a perfect retirement masterpiece for Miyazaki

Just watched this masterpiece. Full of calmness and emotions. I dont think I will be able to rewatch it. Can't take the load at my heart again.

I saw this movie today. And now I realize that how in current scenario cinemas are so exaggerating with less pause and more content for audience to process.Ghibli films are a realistic with better pause to make us understand and feel films

Studio Ghibli present you a "feel good" factor in each movie.... And an inspiration.... I think these kind of movies or cartoons are to be promoted more... To Ghibli with Love.... And the wind shall rise.....

I watched this movie, and a tear came out when I saw the final piece, when the Zeros fly past. It's a shame how the public people voted more for Frozen than this masterpiece. Disney makes good movies. but, Studio Ghibli is a piece of art that can move, talk, and create teardrops for everyone.

criminally underrated- this is literally my fav ghibli film :) i've always shared a love for planes and architecture, drawing components of large buildings and machines and being creative so it was nice seeing a mc with those interests. also the film was realistic compared to other ghibli films which was a nice change

If there is anyone here who didn't cry at the ending of this movie...please get a good exfoliant...and try to strip the layers of callous off your soul.

im here because i just finished watching. the ending didn't made me cry but left me a heartache like literally :( and after doing some research, i just knew thst it's based on a true to life story...damn

Hard to believe, but I actually had to watch this anime in school, it was part of our "preparing ourselves for our future" program, best time spent at school ever.

As someone who has a family defined by aviation such as my great grand uncle who flew in the second world war as a pilot of a F6F in the VF-9 pursuit squadron, Grand father who flew in Vietnam as a pilot of a OV-10 in the newly formed VAL-4 squadron and Dad who flew in dessert storm as a pilot of a E-3 in the 963rd squadron, now retired and flying for fedex, the movie and the music itself always move me and give me a little smile due to the impact the movie gave on my dreams to pursue the legacy of my family's aviator history. There is sometimes nothing more beautiful to watch an air craft soaring in the skies and making the sky to it's own theater spectacle..

I love this film with all my heart, personally my 3rd favorite Ghibli film, this masterpiece about what dreams are for us and what we have to sacrifice to achieve them.

My love for this anime keeps growing.. it's painful.. but also.. painfully beautiful.. sad.. melancholic and nostalgic feeling makes me watch it over and over..

I watched this movie at the age of 8. Then I forgot all about it except a few scenes and for 11 years I have been trying to find this movie which marked my childhood. All I could remember was that scene under the rain where part of the land is dry next to the one full of rain. Yesterday i saw it appear on my Netflix recommandations and thought it looked familiar, I immediately cried when I realized it was the movie I had been looking for 11 years.

I really do believe this has become my favorite studio Ghibli movie

I think this is my favorite studio Ghibli movie because although it is nice to get lost in the magical world and creatures of their other films I like that this one is just about a man and airplanes. It's refreshing. That's just my opinion though.

A Journey/ A dream of Flight bears a truly striking resemblence to Shostakovich's romance theme from "The Gadfly" I aint complaining...great choice of song to sound like tbh

It just feels like a realistic experience and you can feel a little bet of fantasy on it , i mean how in the hell he could mix two different style of writing in one movie or should i say one scene? the plane scene when jiro flys with the italian engineer was a strong slap on my face , i’m that type who really see the things in different ways, and i think thats why i really got connected to the movie , i feel that it was made for me

I started watching studio ghibli again during 2020 for obvious reasons, and I was shocked how many of them had no magical elements to them story wise. I remember randomly choosing the wind rises out of the bunch one night thinking I’d drift off to sleep. Then the film kept going and I was just engulfed in a story where little of things happen grand scheme of things, (as in ww2 starts and it isn’t really focused on like in other films, it’s just an extra piece to think about with the film itself). It is one of the few films where I actually felt sad at its ending, not just because the ending was sad but because it had ended. Every time I have seen it since I am always set into this world of inspiration and glee for my own passions, and I think partially that’s what it was supposed to make the viewer feel. Anyway I guess I’d give it a 6/10.

at the release of this movie I was a high school student who was not very successful in his studies today I am going to prepare my doctorate in chemistry... just to tell you how much this story inspired me ..... than you HAYAO MIYAZAKI and ISAO TAKAHATA and big respect for JIRO HORIKOSHI.
