Windows XP being 20 years old makes me feel old haha. It was a part of my childhood. A bunch of firsts for me was on XP, first time playing computer games, first time on the web with Firefox, downloading Windows Updates, downloading and playing flash games online, and more. It's my first time seeing what the other content of the box are (since legit copies of XP are very rare where I live and cracked copies of XP Pro sell for about $2 per disc were common) and damn did they double down on the words with "xp" on the box and marketing with "experience" and "explore".

Did you know that Windows XP is still one of the most used OSs in a ton of different areas? Many computers used in military positions continue to use XP because not only is it an incredibly reliable OS (even though the copies used are heavily modified to suit the military's needs and to fix security issues), but it is also almost always cheaper to continue to use it rather than upgrading to a newer version!

I remember seeing xp professional and home in almost every store in early 2002 like office depot, Costco, Sams Club even Walmart was big on sales with this especially with the earlier post holiday season discounts. It was the changing point of Windows as a whole. I didn't like the change at first and preferred OSX and OS9 over XP but gradually changed over the course of a few years. I used XP and Windows 7 as a whole the majority of my life truthfully and honestly its ease of use was what I liked the most.

In 2001 I was 10. I had a Pentium 4 2.00 GHz with 256 MB RAM and 40 (or 60?) GB Maxtor HDD with Windows 2000 Professional. Somewhere in 2003 my uncle gave me a "free" copy of Windows XP Professional and I remember that it was very similar to 2000. With SP2 the pc became slower but I noticed many new features such as Windows Firewall, Wi-FI network, Windows Security Center. I spent €140 of my first summer job to buy a geniune XP Pro OEM for my pc because with WGA I could no longer update it. I feel old. Thank you for the video, I love your Windows boxes collection. Nothing will ever replace the feeling of booting up our first Windows XP machine, a Dell Dimension 3000. We had a Gateway 2000 running 95 for the longest time and our uncle bought us a whole Dell setup with WIRELESS mouse and keyboard and a flat screen monitor. Couldn't game much because there was no dedicated gpu, but I remember just being so sucked into XP and just wanting to experience more, thinking the computer was endless, even for how limited XP was at the time. I also kept a 3.5" drive in my machine to install the SATA drivers for my RAID system, which my humble self owned @ the time. Workarounds existed, ofc, but it only worked properly when you installed it from a DOS floppy right @way when you booted from BIOS. +Bonus... all those wonderful 2000s colours... I installed windows xp and I do remember finding it nice when a service pack might update basic drivers so I could hear the oobe music. I had varying difficulty from audigy cards and drivers working out of the box. Sometimes even a video card would be caught up for a little while too. I remember slipstreaming raid drivers into my windows xp cd's when I would take the time to get updates in there as well. I didn't have much success with the audio drivers. However with windows 10, I have wondered about will I eventually run into a situation with cortana not being able to detect my microphone during the setup. I am not sure if windows 11 has the audio setup feature, but that is the best and only time I use cortana, to setup windows and I like it. I even enjoyed the windows xp tour. I remember running it to see how smooth it ran on newer systems compared to when I first ran it on slower systems where it may not have felt as smooth in all the animations. Sure it never really got much better, but I ran large monitors with large resolutions and I remember it not being the smoothest experience at first.

18:55 i always have a question about microsoft telephone activation. ¿How do they get money by doing that? because normally you would pay for a key, but this seems as a free thing, i dont know if telephone charging is what they get but i dont know really

This is for people who aren't able to get on the internet to activate their copy. I think this one came with a key, too.

A whole new operating system, complete overhaul, stabability, more Games, Features. And so much more. I feel like an Operating System like Windows XP is just really good Technology for 2001. Maybe technology wasn't bad in 2001.
