Excellent video! Best video of grafting grapevines. I used this same method on grafting muscadines in GA and had about 75 percent success the first time.. all from what I learned watching this video. Thank you very much!
Awesome information to new persons wanting to graft , I found my timing was always off , it looks like this was my downfall why my grafting failed , despite all the techniques I tried with different grafting I had a feeling about when was the right time to graft ,this makes a huge difference for success as you mentioned , this video has been around awhile now but will always be valuable to those seeking to learn.👍
Dude, you are AMAZING!! I've never heard that much knowledge or seen that much hutzpah in my life!! Gosh! Thank you!! I'm dealing with a 100 year old Concord grape vine on my family farm and don't have the heart to wack it off. I'm going to try this instead of the whip lines that are taking too long.
Hello, thank you for the beautiful presentation... I want to ask, is it possible to graft as you have shown here, but without cutting the old vine? Or should we do this later, after the grafts have grown? Thank you, sir I am writing to you from Romania! Respect!🙏🤝
My house's previous owner planted ornamental male grapevines, and they are growing like kudzu in the backyard, covering the fences and trees with fruitless vines .I'd love to turn some of that vigorous growth into real grapes.I'm trying to find out the best method. I know in my case, the growth is so vigorous because the plants don't have fruit to support. Rather than cutting near the base, I probably need to do my grafts higher up on the vine, leaving some of the ornamental vine for the fruit grapes to parasitise.
Aloha ? I cut the top of vine to establish my arms, but now the dead woods bottom has a bud coming out will this become part of the trunk or become a cane to cut it back and leave 2 spurs, new beee here mahalo for da help aloha
It was a great grafting practice.I really enjoyed watching this video. When did you actually do this? I don't understand English very well ,but I was able to understand the technique perfectly.Thank you.
How bout stump grafting? That works for me grafting over grape vines which have grown a year of more, with at least an inch diameter. T-budding? - not as good imo.
