Sometimes I think I know nothing about Viti or viniculture, but then I do these quizzes and suprise myself. I should really start giving myself more credit! My weakpoints however are numbers like percentages, temperatures etc
9 out of 10. THANKS for this. It really helps me know that my studying at home, during the COVID lockdown, is actually successful and I'm learning what I need to know for WSET LEVEL 3
Hi @Mylnari here, I got 8 out of 10, great quiz, would some of those questions be classed as level 3? Also maybe a quiz on Sherry and port, I know there a was a Sherry question in there. Thanks Daniel
Hi there. Good score. Yes some of these I would class as Level Three Level. There are many more pages devoted to the topic of winemaking processes at L3. I have a fortified wine quiz in a couple of weeks so hopefully that should present you with a challenge. Cheers
One remark on Oak staves or chips: The main reason these are used is not that oak barrels are not available - your can order them all around the world, if you want - but that this method is way cheaper than using oak barrels. So if there was an essay question about bringing oak flavours into the wine, they probably would want you to bring in that financial aspect.
I take a lot of inspiration from my Level 3 book. Certainly there is more focus on the wine making processes at that level. I agree the pass rate is quite low (not something I thought about at the time) but for me the challenge wasn't the multiple choice it was the short answers section.
