I think Tommy made this video before ABBA:s special guitarist Lasse Wellander sadly passed away two weeks ago, otherwise he probably would play the solo a bit closer to Wellander ( even though is not any solo in the original ).
Incredible cover! Tommy covered this song before on Swedish Hitz Goes Metal, and I really loved it, but he outdid himself big time with this one. Not only vocals are even better now, but it's also much more emotional. Loved your reaction, funny as always 😂
It's unbelievable how Tommy does the Coversongs with so much respect to the original on the one side, and gives them so much freshness and power on the other side. That's makes him so special. I love his music.
Jo, man kan ju verkligen undra vilken planet Tommy kommer ifrån! En hyllning till en fantastisk sång med en tvist som får iaf mej att tappa andan! Den gode T vet hur man överraskar❣️Tack för nu🙏🏻
Hi Old skule 👍🏼 It's much easier to check if it is a piano behind you before you sitting down.. it's a old Swedish STEREO trick from the 70s.. THX for a wonderful reaction on Tompa Johanson.. i am sure all members in ABBA love Tommy now ❤️👍🏼🇸🇪❤️🇺🇲❤️🇸🇪
I love that he's shining light on songs from the "Swedish Hitz Goes Metal" album hat ReinXeed did 10+ years ago. That¨s when I found Tommy the first time, him singing Money Money Money on Allsång på Skanen (Swedish summer singing TV-show). Also as he's had to bulk up on songs before the European Tour this might have been also time saving.
Naaahhh. Bismarck is still the king of mistakes (Since Tommy is a part of Sabaton it qualifies) But please keep trying, loving every moment of it. All the best from Sweden
Yeah, Bismarck still tops it singlehandedly and Sabaton qualifies. OldSkuleNerd is never going to escape the curse because "Hell hath no fury like a Hood scorned"
ABBA is a really really tough sell for me. I just heard it so many times growing up, that I just don't need to again. That having been said, the mark of a truly great cover is making you like a song you don't like. So...great cover Tommy! Pretty great reaction too!
Tommy remindes me of Björn Malmsten (Yngves brother) He was also very musical , played a lot of different instrement, did'nt sing thou , their sister did . Yngre lived 10 m from me in Hässelby Villastad 🇸🇪
Tommy's cover is good but it is also inspired by a German power metal band called At Vance which released an album called "Dragonchaser" in 2001. In my opinion At Vance's cover song is better and more heartfelt. I highly recommend you check it out if you liked this one.
OSN...the gang of us promoting Tommy on YT have been trying to work out the "branding" phrase, like Nightwish Army... we started going w Team Tommy just about a week ago, w Tommy's thumbs-up... thank you for getting behind us! Of course, maybe you didn't know, but indeed, it has been decided!
it's a great cover! But still it's kind of a anti-climax with the fade-out in the end. He's been doing that with a few of the latest. Let's end it with a big bang instead!
Sorry, but I don't feel this one. I hear it, but I don't feel it. Yes, it brilliant technically, both the voice and the guitar, but somewhere the brilliance went before emotion. He might as well sung a furniture description from an IKEA catalog.
Same here. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan and he is great, but quite some of his covers just don't ring with me. This one is not even close emotionally to the ABBA original.
