As an American, I love the Scottish & English humor throughout your channel but just wanted to drop a comment for the algorithm. Good shit Fergus, keep it up man, you are truly an inspiration!
Great watch just as I crack into winter training for a 104 mile trail ultra next June. Re-enorced a few things I follow anyway but a brilliantly timed series for me. Good work, keep it coming 👍💪
Great video, but TBH I don't understand 😂 it is so much easier to run in winter (~ -5 is my favorite temperature) than in 20 degrees summer heat :) Snow sometimes might be a problem - in cities it can get pretty slippery. But temperature wise? It is so much easier!
Just found your channel via Mattdoesfitness. Enjoying the content so far 👍 would love to see a mini series with you and Ross Edgley doing some adventures that would be brilliant. Some swim videos would be nice to see as well 😁
The question arises when I go for an early morning run is where am I going to shit? Have you conquered this problem or did it get cut in the editing? Love your work though, it makes me wish I was younger.
Hey Fergus! Love the channel and the content. What pack do you use when running? As a “hybrid” athlete myself I’m having trouble finding one that fits my build well.
Great video Fergus. Done HYROX in Birmingham over the the weekend. Need to do more outside running. How do you find it with your asthma? Also what watch do you wear?
This series is exactly what I needed!!! You totally got me motivated to train more in the winter here in The Netherlands (not really winters here but shit weather for sure)
Hey Fergus! Just found your videos the other day and have watched about 10 so far lol. I'm in the U.S. (but have Scottish ancestry! lol) and have been TERRIBLY out of shape for YEARS. Strength has always come easier for me, but nutrition and cardio has not, and I think I have tricked myself into thinking improving cardio would kill my strength, but you are proving otherwise! With this in mind, I want to start training to be a hybrid athlete! Thoughts or specific video for an absolute beginner when it comes to running.. like no way I'm even doing a 1/2mile right now lol. Thanks!
Hey mate love the content it’s a massive motivation for me, quick question, what is you hydration bladder kit, sorry if I’ve missed a previous video on this but yeah cheers👍🏻
I love winter training the weather adds an extra element to work against. I also believe if we focus on our self discipline for long enough it to becomes a habit, then being undisciplined nudges your conscience to get back to action and stop procrastinating.
Massive chuck up to whoever you managed to drag along with you to film that at that time. By my estimations you would have reached Greggs high street for opening, hope you got a cheeky sausage roll for your efforts!
Couldn’t agree more. Those harsh winter sessions are something I often draw on when I’m in a hole during the summer months. Looking forward to the rest of the series 👍
Yet another great video! Look forward to watching the rest in the series and the upcoming 'the wintering' series 2. How do you map out your route or do you just go out running? I presume you have a route mapped out but could be wrong
Love it👍🏼 really inspiring, now booked an endurance event for when I have recovered from a leg break due to watching your videos! Any advise of completing a marathon distance on the arm cycle machine?
Awesome to hear man! Haha as a lower body specialist I wouldn’t have much advice other than vary your intensity demands and steadily build volume over time!
@@ferguscrawley95 I am glad that I found your profile 😁 I have trained professionally in powerlifting for 12 years and now I am preparing for the Lochness Run 80 miles. We have a lot in common. Good luck 💪💪💪
Furthermore you choice of music was “on point”…brilliant inspiration for myself,52year old Edinburgh born .living in deepest Leicestershire/Northamptonshire border(wife in hospital(9years off n on)..brill mental fortitude..thanks ,brother Fergus😉
Top video Fergus. The dig deep stuff is great. Modern life seeks comfort way too much, which is all around. We don't have to be hungry or cold day to day. But we still need the big challenge. Good work man.
Fergus, another excellent video and no doubt this series with provide inspiration to many! Keep providing the quality content and the subs will build to a loyal following! Your integrity and Scottish grit, shines through, excellent work 👏 👌
I love this. I love running in winter and I love everything you’ve said about resilience. This is what running is all about for me. First full marathon multi terrain next year then I’m onto the ultras. 😃😃😃
Properly analyse your reasons why, and make sure to focus on them rather than doing things for the sake of doing them. Set goals based on what you enjoy, then strategise from there!
Great video, Fergus, very much looking forward to following this series as the cold and wet has arrived here on the west coast of Canada. I'm looking to average at least 4-5 half marathon training sessions per month this winter, perhaps a marathon a month starting in January! Cheers from Canada, Scott
Just found you after your video with matt does fitness, recently started running and don't really have the best kit for winter running. Do you have any recommendations on base layers?
Another great video. Staying motivated to train during the winter is tough. It’s so important to make it a habit in my opinion and videos like this definitely help so thank you.
