Gaunter: *teleports Syanna in the middle of the fight and hands her over to Detlaff who just leaves Toussaint after he kills her.* Geralt: what the fuck are you doing? Gaunter: you wanted me to help you get rid of Detlaff and so i did, you should have remembered what i taught you about wording your wishes. Geralt: *gets imprisoned* Gaunter: greetings Geralt ! I see you are in a pretty bad situation right now but thankfully i know exactly how to get you out of here, you will only need to do me a few more favours after that *evil smirk*
Madalin Nick I think that’s exactly why pocketing the wish for later *wasn’t* an option: gaunter was all to glad to give Geralt simple, catch free wishes on the spot in a moment of due payment, but pocketing the wish would have been too tempting for O’Dimm not to toy around with. That or geralt didn’t try it for exactly the reason you mentioned. Although that’d be the *perfect* twist ending if they tried that.
Still, of Gaunter *could* respond, Well, Deattlaff would learn the usual harsh lesson in the value of wording that O’Dimms victims always receive for entirely different reasons.
Similar timing as when you're fighting a fiend or a chort. Don't dodge immediately, wait for the bats to start flying and flinch, and then you move. Same shit happened to me, I got killed like 4 times before I figured out the timing
Yeah, one time I fought him I cast Quen thinking it would at least shield me from it even if it broke the shield. Nah, it broke the shield and took my health down to like 5%.
If you did all side quests first and got the best armor detlaff should start praying . I literally smoked his ass in the first fight with zero dmg taken
Oh man...it really made me sad to hurt Regis, like i really liked him, throughout the books and the DLC...to hurt Regis like that really made me sad. But Dettlaff just...had to be dealt with, because he killed many innocents...
I played it on high settings, I had a GTX465 at the time, now I'm playing it for the 4ft time on ultra and with mods with a GTX970. In Brazil PC parts are really expensive... we need to play awesome games on what we have XD.
I second Ingrid Mello on that. I'm personally from South Africa and by the time I upgraded my PC to be able to play The Witcher 3 I stopped caring at all... I simply wished to play this masterpiece!!!
I had a GT 1080 with a i5 processor and 8g ram it ran solid 30fps and sometimes 50+ in toussaint with half of the options into Ultra and mostly the shadows into High
@Tajny Typ You can find ribbon in a land of thousand fairytails, which you can enter through the book you and Regis found in Syanna's old room. There is a girl with matches, who has it. You can buy it or win by playng gwent with the girl and then find out another way to end the game :)
@Tajny Typ shoulda played more careful, mate, games like Witcher demand this. It's actually pretty hard to miss, when you're in the Land of thousand fairytails, just talk to the girl with matches(idk actually what's she naimed in english, i played in russian, nevermind, the girl who sells drugs) and then Syanna will notice her ribbon on the girls hair. After that you could just buy it or win a gwent game to get it. If Syanna gets it, she will teleport back to the fairytail, when Detlaff tries to kill her and you'll fight Detlaff. After that, if u want to get the best ending(But i honestly think, that canon is where they both die at the same time, during the process), you just need to talk to Syanna before going to Anarietta and try to convince her to forgive her sister.
@@ButterDog42069 you really think that is the canon ending? I feel like if there was a canon ending (which im not sure of) than ann henrietta would survive in that one so she could be at the party at corvo bianco from the 10 year anniversary Trailer (assuming that that is canon)
I love how the whole game you never really feel too outmatched if you take good preparation, given you are one of the most experienced and well reknown witchers of the world, yet the game does a real good job of making you firmly understand that there are just a few things in the world that even you should NEVER mess with unless absolutely necessary. Like Detlaff, a true master vampire. He made geralt seem way out of his depth. And don't even get me started on Gaunter.
In The Witcher 3, Geralt can kick the ass of almost every living thing. The only two exceptions are Gaunter and The Unseen Elder. And I feel like if he came really really really prepared, he could probably beat The Unseen Elder and ask Regis to finish him off since only superior vampires can kill other superior vampires, but Gaunter's not to be fucked around with.
@@ArtorioVideojogos I dont think Geralt could beat the unseen elder. And Im very sure the strongest being in the Witcher universe is Ciri when she controls her power. She has the power to control the universe. There is a theory that Gaunter was helping Geralt the whole game finding her. And it actually made sense. Gunter was trying to protect the dimension he was able to collect souls.
Gaunter is a celestial he's bound by karmic law, so not really that tough just be nice to him lol. Like.. if he just killed you, he would have to pay for it, dearly. Like that guy he took out in the tavern with the spoon, that isn't free, he will have to die once for that, equal punishment from God. This is all assuming gaunter is the devil of course which is certainly the case.
+Sephelutis Lucifus Yeah, I really didn't want to kill him. He seemed like a genuine nice guy. Syanna herself said when she first met him he was trying to sell a silver goblet. Think about that: He had all those vampire powers and he still chose to make an honest living. I'm sorry Detlaff...
+Magni56 Yeah. can't blame him though. he was born to experience emotions more intensely than humans. also, is no one bother by the fact that Beauclair is brimming with survivors despite a long night of vampires roaming the streets?? Hahaha, there were fucking Garkains and Fleders man.
Mowing through the streets of Beauclair, brightly glowing Aerondight in hand and surrounded by a swarm of vampires while this track plays was one of the best gaming moments I ever had.
Those bats he sends your way. And that blood dimension with his entity regenerating health from the thudding hearts on Death March NG+... It matched Souls games difficulty for me. "If you acknowledge any gods, start praying now!" - Dettlaff Van Der Eretein.
bats are easily dodged once you know how, after that i found this fight pretty easy tbh. still took me a few tries. wouldn't compare it to beating dark souls for the first time, not even close.
Yeah, once I got the hang of it, I started to replay this fight over and over trying to beat him without getting hit (no quen). Very good boss fight though, very difficult.
The second form of his is really hard in normal to, even if that bat cannon attack (in normal, it takes 2/3 health even if Quen is used with really decent armor) can't one-shoot Geralt.
I barely managed it with hybrid build on death march. I can just imagine him ripping me a new asshole on my pure mage, thankfully I let him live on that one.
I had a mostly sign and some power build. I was playing on NG+ Blood and Broken Bones. It was actually not as hard once you realize the best way to escape the bats and you see his weaknesses in his attacks. It would still be tough for someone who knew the strategy though but hadn't mastered the combat yet. I only got hit in the 3rd phase when I was testing him on the attempt i figured out the strategy. I was getting wrecked by the bats though before tho lol
Ross Davis Blood and Broken Bones first playthrough was pretty good. I don't use any potions at all, I don't craft any swords, and I minimise Quen use (Aard is my favourite). Right now at the start of NG+, I'm finding Death March easy.
I love how everyone always forgets about the Ekhidna decoction which essentially heals you for about 1/10 of your hp. everytime you cast a sign. Infinite healing for 30 minutes.
I love how everyone forgets there are invincibility frames after the "sound" to cue to start rolling like a madman to be immune to the bat attack, but either way it was still challenging. Whether or not you took the eckidna decoction [basically my last resort for hard fights] he'd still take a good chunk out of your health if you didn't dodge or roll properly, no matter your health boost from alchemy tree or quen boosts. Either way 1000x better than the boss fights of the core game and the Wild Hunt
Yeah, I thought that this boss required some cheesy methods such as disabling him with dimeritium bombs or using black blood before the fight. I wasted way too much time believing that those bats cannot be evaded.
198Immortal I like the voice and how it sounds sound like something you'd hear in a mist covered graveyard at night on a full moon while your being stalked by a beast as you cautiously walk through it holding a Lantern
In the warehouse: i killed your girlfriend(o thought the corva bianca bruxa was his gf) i'll kill you too, bitch. After learning the lore and seeing them slaughter half an army: okay, you now what, i'm scared.
The final boss music is the best. It's like a mass-up of this track, with the dissonant strings at the beginning, but there's also a part where there's high pitched female vocals singing, sort of chanting actually. Fucking epic track to an awesome battle.
*listens to the cp2077 guitar version* Me: Damn that's chill, wonders how the original sounds like *original* : Me: *starts headbanging with religious itent*
If you have rats, call the rat catcher. If you have drowners, get any old witcher. If your kingdom is being terrorised by vampires, call Geralt of Rivia.
people in 2077 play this on the street on their guitar.. do go and check it out ;) tbh loved the guitar version, it was sweet, amplified the pain in dettlaff
Every single thing they build for this universe is just perfect and gives me goosbumps. Books, game, soundtracks, tv series everything is clearly a masterpiece for me. This is like harry potter and lotr and sadly i don't think nothing like this gona release again in the future.
I mean if he had his head band that’s pretty much how he’d wear his hair, but with his head band on. The shaved pony tail and short styles are the exotic styles. That’s basically just generic Geralt.
Everything leading up to this fight was perfect. The way Geralt and Regis look at each other when Detlaff is talking to Syanna like "Are we really doing this?" Then she vanishes and it's like "Yeah. We're doing this." And that moment when you think surely this fight will be no trouble. After all, Regis is here. But then Regis is taken down. And Detlaff slowly turns his body like some lumbering beast towards you, the player. He cracks his neck and grinds his claws, as if he's saying "You're trapped here wirh me now. No one is fighting this fight for you." Truly the best boss fight in all of storytelling so far.
What a f#cking masterpiece this game is. I mean i enjoyed the expansion even more than the main game... and i love the main story so much. Toussaint is just a beautiful place to explore with beautiful architecture. And to top that the expansion gives you the best character of the game, my blood thirsty best buddy the mvp regis the motherf#cking higher vampire.
Wait until the final boss. On Death March it hits so damn fucking hard. No joke, Grandmaster Ursine with 10k hps, I nearly got 1 shotted by an attack during the second phase.
Yeah, I play on Death March and Enemy Level Scaling. Getting one/two shot is really not funny but exhilarating nonetheless. Looking forward to the encounter.
Oberfuhrer-Razgriz Yeah, I died like 15 times before I learned to dodge that. And I thought quen protects you from 1 instance of damage no matter how big it is, guess not xD
This game devs taught other teams how to really prefect in making a video game to last literally a lifetime, and I'm straightforward talking to the devs who made this cool best selling titles which I personally love as well : RDR2,GOW 2018,ME2 2010,MGS4,TLOU 2013, GTAV, Uncharted 4, and Skyrim! ☠
I had a some sort of deja vu while fighting Deattlaff for the 1st time. It felt like fighting against against vergil for the 1st time in DMC3 on Mission 20.
So fuckin satisfying, this boss fight. Even more satisfying playing Gwent on mobile running a vampire deck, with Dettlaff as your showcase. I love his character. The only reason I killed him was to get the red armor in the caves, but even his boss fight, although tragic, was so damn cool. An excellent character nonetheless
I was NOT prepared for this boss fight lmao no way! That bat swarm got me dying a bunch of times and all I could think of was " fuck ..thought I was done with dark souls"
