Season 1 was good only thing wrong was them not telling you the timeline the scene was in. Season 2 for me is still interesting but they did focus too much on the wrong things and had characters do stuff they wouldn't do. Im still watching season 3 because gotta see what Henry will do in his last season then im pretty much done with the series. Because it will be completely dead. Feel srry for the other actors involved. Im sure they know from the backlash if they even do a season 4 it will probably be the last because the producers and writers had the main crowd drawer want to leave. Now one of them is begging ppl to stay and watch still but its not happening unless the new guy somehow turns into a great actor.
The most amazing part is how every single thing Geralt does in this trailer is an actual gameplay mechanic. Signs, sword fighting, potions, bombs, traversal, and even dialogue.
And I love how Geralt looks as well. He's got silver hair, but not in a manner that makes him look like an old man. He's wearing the kaer morhen armor, which in my opinion is the best looking armor in the game, and that subtle but sick glowing cat eyes when opening the door
@@noorurchoudhury4582 That's the whole point. You're watching a trailer that happens long after Blood & Wine BEFORE playing Blood & Wine itself. Even before the main game. That's why it's so awesome. Let me spell it out: The game isn't even out yet, you're watching a trailer. It's a pretty badass trailer. You're like, cool. Years pass. You've played the main game and now you're wrapping up with Blood & Wine, when suddenly you realize EXACTLY who this bitch you're being introduced to is...and you're like, holy crap this bitch was in that trailer from all those years ago! I hate this bitch, I want to kill her in the game but I am not allowed to make that choice, but then wait...I've already killed her because that trailer takes place AFTER B&W, so...fucking A! It's a beautiful thing.
Man Man Rumor has it that HBO wants to do one, actually. If that is true, then it will probably be like a replacement for GoT, which will have idk how many seasons yet. I also read that they want Mads Mikkelsen as Geralt, which I think is just a fan suggestion. I think the actor who plays Ragnar's brother in Vikings looks a lot more like Geralt in terms of facial features and body. But it its still all just a rumor.
My personal favorite moment in the Blood and Wine expansion was throwing a Moon Dust bomb at that first bruxae and realizing that this trailer had shown you the most optimal way to kill one. What an amazing attention to detail!
Geralt is such a badass, you can tell by her reaction after picking up the doll she's surprised he walked up behind her without her hearing him. Unlike most fantasy protagonist that are overpowered or have some form of plot armor, a Witcher can be so easily killed by the monsters they hunt. Sure they have mutations and signs but that's hardly an advantage compared to their often supernatural foe's powers. Their greatest asset is knowledge and preparation and that's reflected in this trailer, Orianna would've bested the White Wolf had it not been for the black blood. Not to mention even regular men can kill Witchers if they get the upper hand. Another reminder that Witchers aren't some overpowered individuals, they're just dudes with some useful abilities living on the edge.
I do think you're kinda undervaluing the combination of speed & reflexes, enhanced senses, strength and training, but yeah the point stands and it's why they're so cool
I agree to an extent, I mean yes obviously preparation is half the battle. But Witcher’s have reflexes and senses on steroids. Plus the mutations, any normal dude wouldn’t have survived drinking Witcher potions. As we see in the game in white orchard when the griffin attacks the girl and Geralt can agree to help by crafting the swallow potion. Geralt says Witcher have a faster metabolism and that the potion can be deadly to humans whom have not undergone the mutations.
I know this is an old comment, but I think witchers are the perfect example of making the absolute most of their abilities. True masters of their craft
@@Lucy666Fernandezbeen a while but was the OP wrong in it being Orianna? Seems it would be a spoiler if it was. Or it’s just an alternate…setting. I’d make a bad Witcher though. No way could I want to bring harm to such beauty(before the transformation lol)
I think Regis was keeping an eye on Geralt, thats the reason why there are so many birds watching him and following him at the end of the video! Cool detail!
His thing was ravens..Birds follow the vampires, it's in the bestiary about the bruxa and the hang around the toy store where what's his face was working...they're there because of her.
If they were crows (or ravens? I don’t remember…) it could be Regis. But if it’s Orioles, then it was her. Many Bruxae and Alps have Orioles follow them around, it’s usually a sign that one of them is nearby.
I love the moment of realisation when during the DLC you realise that Oriana was the Bruxa from the trailer ... and when Geralt says:'' You know... I'll be back for you some day..''' and they trailer plays in your mind .... Goose bumps moment. One of many.
The problem is that orianna in blood and wine is a higher vampire not a bruxa. She normally can’t be killed by geralt like that (only higher vampires can kill each others). So, i think that they made a reference of the trailer in blood and wine but it stops there
@@michmich999 untrue, higher vampire could be "killed" without another higher vampire but they could be revive by another higher vampire but once they killed by geralt for example it is impossible to revive without help from another higher vampire. Take regis for example his to be remain a puddle of blood for eternity but deflaff found him
Knowledge of monsters is a Witcher’s greatest weapon. It’s why Witcher’s are so lethal. They study your weaknesses and prepare beforehand. Taking that black blood potion saved Geralt’s life. Orianna was doomed from the start and she didn’t even know it. This is why Vesemir was so tough on Ciri at Kaer Morhen for skipping her studies.
How cool would it be to get a Vesemir DLC? I'd like to see one where young Vesemir has a contract or something happen where he (much later) has to finish it as old Vesemir. Long lost love, a monster that escaped, a great-grandchild of someone he saved seeking him out, something hte ycould put together an epic story for him. I'd just like to play as old Vesemir and try out young (maybe young is slightly faster and stronger but old is much more skilled with a blade. Seeing as how age doesn't affect them nearly as much.) I also have a fanfic about a 1,000 year old Witcher that is on a mission to find the mutations and potions and magic needed to restore bringing Witchers back, with cameos by Vesemir (who knows him) and Geralt. He's a very, very powerful witcher, highly mutated and extremely skilled with a sword and signs. He's older, and kinda has a belly, I'd say he has the physique of Affleck Batman but with a slight belly. But is extremely fast, missing an eye and is, strangely enough, half-elven. Which might be too much change for that world but it is a fanfic, there is a reason as to why and he faces a great destiny post Witcher-3 (GEralt is semi-retired and living with Yennefer, he later seeks their help for a crucial part and convinces Geralt to train a new generation of Witchers with Yennefer)
@Twin Bee Indeed. I've played TW3 on Death March and OMFG it's another experience. I got my ass kicked so many times when I didn't have the right potion/oil.
The moment from 3:40 to 3:43 where she is dying, her eyes are wide in disbelief at what has happened. Then a single tear rolls dows from the eye and then it gets unfocused as she looses consciousness. I cant get over the fact that how brilliant, beautiful and sad these three seconds are. Pretty much all of the trailer is amazingly beautiful and sad.
And I'm still not even sure she deserved that death. Actually, I know she did not. But there is some balance to maintain after the conjunctions of the spheres, and some sentient beings just ended up on the wrong side. Not wrong morally, just wrong pragmatically. We need some level of balance, and some creatures would mess that up. It's... It's a mess, is what it is. Oh look, humans breeding like rabbits! But those are the good guys? I guess they are now, since they're everywhere... It's all a HUGE mess. She didn't deserve to die. But she probably needed to.
@@NirielWinx the bruxa is orriana, she paid for an orphanage to be run so she could have a constant supply of orphans to feed on. Definitely deserves it
The first city is not toussaint, just look at it, it's clearly a design for novigrad. Then the second one is supposed to be in toussaint but it's not really toussaint. Cause there's velen like geopgraphy and velen like architecture, the barn, the well etc. Hell, it's even snowing! How is that Toussaint?! lol This trailer was more of a concept of gameplay and atmosphere - it clearly skips all over the place geographically now that the map is known - it's there to set the atmosphere and mood of the ,then to be released, game. When it became a huge succes and people went "Can we find her in the game?! is this a Contract?!" and became dissapointed it wasn't they made it part of the blood and wine DLC that they where working on AFTER release. They used to cinematic to tease the DLC. It shows how CDPR is a company that listens to the fans and likes to give them what they want. But they really did not have the blood and wine and it's quests finished before the Witcher 3 even came out. They just integrated this into the questline because people thought it was such an awesome trailer and enemy. They made a part of the dialogue fit with this cinematic. 'I'll come back for you' That's it. They're awesome and the fact they improvised this to please the fans is why I love this company so much.
"I'll come back for you one day. You realize that, right ?" -Geralt, Blood and Wine "Nice tune, been a while since I last heard it." -Geralt, A Night to Remember
@@jinxblaze Maybe the one, that is buried under Novigrad... Also, when you completed quest Carnal Sins, you've encountered vampire, who said, that he was higher vampire, but that was just an overlook on the side of devs, cause that was Garkain, which is not higher vampire
I am from Sardinia, in sardinian folklore there are "bruxas" or "cogas". They are women that in the night, in a way similar to lycantrophy, turn into vampires/crones with long hairs and nails, and they loves expecially newborn's and children's blood. The only difference between our bruxas and the witcher's bruxae is that our have a tiny tail and a hairy cross on the lower back, and they sometimes don't know that they are bruxas (like werewolves). Blood and wine have a lot of references to my land, for example the vineyards "vermentino" and "nuragus" are actually real names of two sardinian white wine grape varieties. I actually grow vermentino and make an excellent wine in real life, so when i played blood and wine i was amazed by that.
It's interesting, but in this trailer bruxa has something like unformed tail. It can be seen on her tail bone during the fight scene. Firstly, I thought "no, it can't be!", but when you told, they HAVE TO be with tails - it doesn't seem unbelieveble anymore.
Hey CD Projekt Red, if you guys want to make more DLC's after Blood and Wine, I'd buy it. I'd probably buy any Witcher DLC's you make for the next 10 years.
Yeah honestly just keep making dlc and expansions for the Witcher 3 or another Witcher game instead of doing cyberpunk. Don't get me wrong I love cyberpunk, it's a great game, but they seriously needed more time for it and we could've waited for it. Now all I want is for them to finish up with cyberpunk and then get straight to what they are best at, which is the Witcher franchise.
7 whole years, and I’m here to comment on this and say, this is the best game I’ve ever played in my entire life. It would be so hard to love a game more than this game. Even this trailer is better than some movies. Wish they make a full animated Movie for the Witcher Game!
I'm having RDR2 here as a countermeasure, sure it's like comparing apples to oranges, but RDR2 is a masterpiece. Honestly it's existence is what's holding me back from replaying TW3 (Next Gen edition nowadays) for the 6-7th time, I'm just afraid of comparisons.
True, true. A true epic. I enjoyed playing it for the first time when my son was just 8 years old. Now he's 16 and I'm watching him play it enjoying it together again.
@@mohdfarhan5255 By the time of this clip its been long since renovated and he should have more than enough coin given his vineyard (i mean, whats he gonna spend that money on anyway? Most herbs he can grow himself in his garden. And even Yennefer/Triss could only spend so much on magical stuff they could buy in the first place). However Gwent cards...especially rare ones...now THAT could cost a fortune.
Isai Uchiha if i recall, there was a series and a film about the witcher... i think it went by the name 'hexer' because it was translated from polish rather than made as an adaptation of the games, but neither was any great shakes. perhaps HBO could do it justice, who knows. sadly, i doubt it will happen. a shame really.
That's true. Plus the fact that it's from Poland hampers its visibility somewhat. Man, I just can't wait to play this and Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red are the real fucking deal!
Zaid Ahmed It bases on slavic folklore which is usually more understandable by people in this part of europe, Witchers author is from Poland which as above said isnt most noticable country worldwide (except Polandball ofc 8D ). Now hopefully after the games which made this franchise the best advertisement possible, the guy who is suppose to make a The witcher movie (He made most of previous trailers for the game series, not sure if this one included) will find a proper founds to finaly give the books proper justice. Also what Hatti said, its a dark fantasy, unlike Lord of the Rings there are topics touched in the witchers books that you cant rly portrait properly without instantly giving it 18+ rating and this limits the audience-money.
Zaid Ahmed Popular doesn't necessarily denote high quality. A lot of people like simpler stories, as life itself can be quite complicated. Look at how popular Marvel movies have become. Those stories might have one or two twists to appear complicated, but are overall pretty simple. Probably one of the reasons game of thrones is so popular after being available for 20 years--it's a mix of simple and complex.
I love the attention to detail. How Geralt breathes out before saying he is about to kill her, shaking of the meddalion in presence of magic, fact he woke up next to a girl and not a monster. It is very well done, falling behind slightly are the other two cinematic trailers from witcher 3 and regretfully this is way above what the series delivered. I always want to play it again watching this.
A sad fact of life is that if a trailer for a game appears too good to be true, it is. Watch Dogs looked amazing in its debut trailer too. Look how that turned out.
This trailer is better than both seasons of the Netflix show combined. How they could get it so wrong with such fantastic material to draw inspiration from is beyond comprehension.
Artistic Interpretation. It is why Hollywood fucks up most everything it touches. Their egos won't let them consider that they might be wrong or as smart as they think.
HeskeyTime No, it's Geralt's last contract. It's actually up to the player. It's advisable to play after of the main game because SPOILERS Your love interests shows up at your vineyard to live with Geralt by the end of Blood and Wine. If there are no love interests. Witcher or Empress Ciri shows up. This only happens if you've finished the main game.
Damn, he said he'll come back to finish her, maybe he got a bit rusty, who knows maybe after the end of BaW he didn't do witcher contracts until this one...(had lots of fun with Yennefer or Triss, or too much of boredom with Dandelion and in the end wanted to feel the path once again and accepted the contract, I guess if you get Ciri in the end he continues to be a witcher for a while and also train Ciri). Maybe that is why a damn bruxa trashed him that way.
I think this fight was tough because she isn't just a typical Bruxa. She fights a lot better and smarter than a typical bruxa but she doesn't have the same powers as a Higher Vampire. Its the same as those Wild Hunt soldiers. The normal soldiers are easily dispatched by Geralt but fighting someone like Imerith or Eredin is much harder.
3:39 man the graphical clarity on her face! Amazing render! This is so impressive and a great show case of the game's vision. I'm playing the game right now and loving it. 30 hours in and still haven't finished act 1
@@DropoutJerome idk why people wanter hyper realism, sure youd notice she doesnt belong in this world if you saw her on the street. But it feels...artistic. Games strive to look so realistic that your eyes just kinda glaze over. Does it look realistic like real life? No. But youre not genuinely gonna tell me that it doesnt look pretty right?
@@thesaviorofsouls5210 it genuinely looks like dated low budget CGI clip. Go back to CGI films of the early 2000s and this clip looks about the same. I dont believe the goal of CGI is photorealism for most projects, here it's clear the artstyle is fantasy. It's okay if you think it's pretty, I however can see that the CGI isnt up to date here, but it gets the job done.
@@DropoutJerome thats absolutely insane to me, what is it that you feel is aged about it? Is it the lighting, textures, the model. Genuinely curious as to what makes you say that.
I am. It's pretty good.. not quite as amazeballs as I hoped with all the hype, and it doesn't quite look as good as this trailer. But I'm having a good time overall. Especially considering it's 4+ years old now.
This trailer does a remarkably good job on making you feel bad for the monsters you kill. Especially after understanding the lyrics of the song, you understand that in the monsters' eyes, Geralt is the real monster. To this girl, hunting humans and drinking their blood is just as natural as humans hunting animals for their meat. Yet Geralt comes to her house and "Cuts and dice" her. For what? Only because he was "Paid in coin of gold"
It doesn't matter. Witchers were made to protect humans, and only humans. Every other species are less important, and if they are dangerous, they must be killed.
One of the best trailers ever made for a video game. I still watch this regularly, even after I've finished TW3 three times. The way they captured all the core gameplay mechanics, atmosphere and feelings into a one very emotional video is phenomenal. This trailer is a prime example how to promote your piece of art.
The moment when Geralt leaves the barn...just gets me every time. The music, the atmosphere, the whole tragic tone just cuts right through the heart. Beautiful-sad trailer and an absolute masterpiece of a game.
The lyrics for that lovely tune in case you want to sing it to your kids before bedtime: Wolves asleep amidst the trees Bats all a'swayin' in the breeze But, one soul lies anxious wide awake Fearing all manner of ghouls, hags, and wraiths. Beds are silent for the night Cows turned in as daylight dies But one soul lies anxious wide awake For the Witcher, brave and bold, paid in coin of gold He'll chop and slice you Gut and dice you, eat you up whole. Eat. You. Whole.
james potter Zimmer said it's "A Night to Remember" but I think that's just what CDPR called the video but it's as close of a guess as we're gonna get. Right now, I just call it "The Witcher Song" I like to think it's what the elders of that world would sing to the children to make them go to sleep or behave. Kind of like the boogeyman! As you can probably tell I'm very excited.
Tyler Hallman I feel like I know this song, it maybe from the books, but I'm not sure. But I'm sure that people in the Witcher world were definitely scaring children with Witcher and saying they'll eat them.
Just fucking mindblowing. This cinematic shows everything about the Witchers hunting. There is the silver sword There is the shaking Medaillon There is magic There is alchemy There is preparation There is Geralt's knowledge of its prey There is danger, savagery and blood There is tempo There is great martial prowess There are boobs And then there is peace, and hopefully a big sac of orens. I can't wait anymore, it's been too long since the Witcher 2. I want it now ='(
iKoyyy Actually if it was to show everything about the Witchers' hunting the sac of orens would be pretty small - Geralt does not get paid much for sticking his neck out (quite literally in this trailer :D). Would be nice if the silver chain made an appearance in the game/trailer instead of the crossbow. By the way, that trailer really reminded me of Witcher 1 cinematic intro and brought a lot of memories :)
***** Ezio was cool, I'll give him that, but he ain't got shit on Geralt. He's the most complex, deep and badass character of all time. All hail great Master Sapkowski!
I know this is a serious cinematic, but every time I see Geralt drink the potion all I can think of is that scene in the Viva la dirt league parody when Rowan says "It turns my blood into poison" and I just find that hilarious.
Rahul Das I thought it was Cat's Eye too. I thought that Witchers blood, for their mutation, were just really made to be toxic for creatures that would try to feast on it.
DrawingGirl16 Masterpiece? Not sure about that. Their are so many issues with this game, that shouldn't be ignored. God! where to begin, sure it's pretty to look at. Have you heard the term "smoke&mirrors , well your being duped. 1.the game is truly "open world" so IF your thinking in terms of Skyrim? Your going to be disappointed. 2. the frame rate is not was promised either. 3.they lied! on Conan O'Brien about them showing PC footage and claiming it was xbone footage. 4. In order to actually be "challenged" by the game you have to set it on the hardest setting their is. Because Easy is way to easy. 5.The menus are so convoluted it's ridiculous and un manageable. 6. You play a card game as an activity ,side quest. 7. the side quests themselves are all that not interesting, in fact you can really skip them all together. I hate it as a game reviewer, when the hype the "shit" out of a game. And act like it's the 2nd coming of Christ. That being said, I would highly recommend renting the game before you but it. Because I know allot of gamers that are going to be quite pissed! Come the 19th. I played a review copy, so I know. I will also be highly disappointed, if Witcher 3 ends up winning GOTY 2015. It's not that it's a good game, and definitely worth playing. But's it's just not GOTY material, because it does nothing new. Witcher fanboys , will eat this up. Hardcore gamers like myself, will be extremely disappointed.
I showed this trailer to both my brother and sister. they never played any of the previous games but became curious after watching this trailer and bought the game. Their both fans now.
For those who are wondering she aint a Bruxa she's an Alp, they are basically the same thing but Bruxa can't turn invisible and usually stay together, wheraes Alps are incredibly tough and fast, and can also turn invisible, universally hunt alone, and probably the biggest difference is you might be able to convince a Bruxa to let you live in return for free blood whenever they wish, but since Alps typically live in complete isolation from their kind they are inherently mistrustful so you're fucked. Also Alps have red hair, which as we can clearly see she's got, and she mentions "No amount of coin would convince a witcher to take this contract" The only two things Witchers are told to never attempt to hunt are Higher Vampires, and Dragons. Dragon's because they are almost always benevolent and intelligent beings, also obviously incredibly powerful, and don't hunt higher vampires because you gonna get FUCKED up. I mean Geralt is probably the most legendary Witcher of all time, and one of, if not THE greatest swordsman in the world, and if it weren't for the Black Blood potion, he might have very well died.
+Akiraspin Alps tend to send nightmares upon their victims during the feeding - see 0:49 'Got... other things on their mind.' 'Things like me?' Oh, and Alps as outsiders prefer hunting on countryside not in cities, which is the biggest hint in this trailer. Greetings, fellow lorefreaks! :D
Karl Tanner No it's not. It has so much else going for it. If one doesn't want to constantly have sex shoved down their throat, they don't have to. That's the beauty of this game. Game of thrones just throws incest in there for laughs.
Given this is an epilogue him saying “times have changed” suggests this is maybe even the secret trailer for a possible Witcher 4 with Geralt as the protagonist
I'm wanting this game to be turned either into a TV series or movie so bad. Plus this trailer hasn't helped my hype level for this game ! I'm sitting here looking at my psn account count down the seconds till it's released !
Kaine Parker The movie and tv series were horrible an all possible levels - script, costumes, cgi, most of actors were just awful. The good news is - there are rumors that Tomasz Bagiński - the guy behind all Witcher trailers, is planning to make a new Witcher movie. The main question is if he will be able to get the budget needed to make a good movie.
... and now officially THE MOST AWARDED GAME OF ALL TIME - congratulations CD Projekt RED you guys deserve every single award. Bring on BLOOD and WINE! (and Cyberpunk and Witcher 4 and whatever else you have in works)
@@asherm4767 This is beneath 'em man. This is why small and creatively charged is always better imo. They defied odds with The Witcher. Once the suits step in bro, it's all downhill.😥 It's sad because the creative potential of Cyberpunk is huge. I feel like they bowed to capitalism on this one, and the art suffered. That's just me.🤔
Baytuh Im new to the series. I only found out about it a few days ago. Watched a couple vids then immediately preordered. Longest week of my life! I can't imagine 2 and a half years!
***** Well the international community better send some more NATO stuff to Poland or no more games from CDPR if the Russians come I've waited 4 years ._.
so, in a twist of coming full circle, the very first Witcher 3 cinematic is actually Witcher 3's true 'final hunt.' i mean, Geralt presumably can still have a lot of side questing and never retire... but this is actually the true ending, or epilogue, of Blood and Wine but also Witcher 3 generally.
It's 2023, a lot of amazing RPG games have passed yet the witcher 3 still remains on top of them all. such a masterpiece that will go down as one of the all-time greats.
After watching it the 100th time it still gives me chills. The trailer is the perfect summary of the game being played on the highest difficulcy, where you are no superman, but just a man with slightly better reflexes and training. It shows how vulnerable he actually is and that sometimes he has to be, like here drinking black blood.
It's crazy how the trailer added so much depth to Blood and Wine's story, but now that I've finished the story, the expansion adds so much more depth to the trailer.
Hell Blazer She only appears in the Blood and Wine expansion and this cinematic trailer, the giddiness over all this is because she appeared in the trailer over a year before the expansion even came out that she also happens to be in, so seeing her in game was pretty cool. But she never appears in the books or other games.
Its been years and I still come back and watch this like the first time. I mean, if the Witcher TV series was like this I would pay top coin and wait all the necessary time between seasons.
