Well there are the zones where it says "none but devils roam here" but you rarelly even go there unless you try to go to a different area on horseback like kaer morhen
Every game has it, because it's a GAME with limited world size. In case of "The Witcher 3" this world is so huge, that you will rarely experience this limitations.
@@juantirado8249 i always go for aard, quen, fast attacks and dodging (played dm 5 times by now) it just depends on your playstyle but i would never say no to gwent
My wife never played a game in her life ... Untill Witcher 3 ... Now , 4 years after ... she hasn t played another game and i don t know when she will touch anything else...
Something I've never understood in video games: every single enemy, no matter their seeming intelligence, fights to the death. Their allies might be dropping like flies. You might be doing insane feats of strength or magic that they could not hope to match. There's even the potential that you are famous, a well-known face in the land, known to be undefeated or insanely powerful. Or maybe you literally just killed something right in front of them, that would easily kill them in an instant. And they still try to rob you? Like, wut?
Precisely the reason I fell in love with Shadow of Mordor, and it's Nemesis System. Enemies (including "powerful" Warchief's and Captain's) will retreat when facing their inevitable demise, and in some (rare) instances will even flee at the very sight of you. Great game, I'm really hoping this'll be better (besides the issue we speak of now, of course lol).
My ending and the DLCs ending were all great but I felt depress, a void in my heart after completing this game. I have never been so attached to a game that I view the characters as real person, even, I thought I was Geralt himself, pure IMMERSIVE experience that I and the others cannot forget. We thank you for making this masterpiece CD PROJEKT RED!
yeah i knew a guy who got too immersed, thought he was geralt, ended up stabbing up the school we went to, killed 37 people. worst part, he used a silver sword, instead of a regular one.
I get you man, for me it was the best single player focused game i've ever played, no other game tugged on my heart strings as much as witcher had, give yourself sometimes and try playing other games. But in the end we will all hold this game dear to our hearts.
I know cyberpunk is a bit of a meme at this point but especially now that the definitive update for the game came out, it's so worth playing if you can, the writing and characters are so immersive I felt the same emptiness when I finished the game that I had with the witcher 3
@@shaunxbox4139 The head trophy system was initially made so you can bring the head to the contractor as proof to collect your bounty but it was scrapped later on for optimization and size purposes
I think for me its family matters , because that side quest ties into crookback bog. Its crazy because its part of the main story , but not actually necessary.
This is the reason that this game is so legendary. Everyone has a different favorite quest. I think the Novigrad arc is the greatest sequence ever, plenty of people say the Baron quest line is the best, Crookback bog is fantastic, my favorite standalone quest is probably Fyke Isle. There are just an insane number of perfect main and side questlines in this game.
@@jaceygaither2581 ahhhh can't wait, it's halfway downloaded, I'm finally going to play one of the best games ever made, just finished rdr2 and my god that game was just everything I wanted in a game, let's see what witcher does.
I was not ready for this game. It changed my view on what developers are capable of. The absolute greatest game I’ve ever played. I’m not much of a gamer anymore but this will game will always have a place in my heart. I’d pay $100 for the base game. CD Project Red, you did amazing
This game made me learn about custom PC specifications. I had a Pre-Built PC at the time and it could barely run this game. Now I can play the Ray-Tracing version of it in 4K.
@@jock4551 yes, tw3 stands for 4 dolars every month at a sale on steam. Games like red dead redemption 2, zelda botw, that are ones of the few who are in the same stage of tw3 never gets cheaper than 20 dolars
I don't know why I got this recommended randomly now but still one of my favorite games of all times. Video-game storytelling, world, character development and exploration at its finest. Damn now I'll have to play it one more time lol.
@@altaroforochi No it was 90% allright. It is 30 frames obviously like every game on ps4 but even during hard combat I didn't have many problems with fr. Only on the biggest city "novigrad" or something it would drop to something like 24 frames at times but still stable still looks good. I bet that it all look even better on 120 frames on pc but you'd have to pay around 2-3k dollars for such pc. Also I play on a HDR 4k sony tv the HDR bumps ps4 graphics like nothing else. But the framerate will always stay at 30 thats the cost of console gaming and the save of couple thousand dollars that you can spend on good 1 month vacation every year. Cheers brotha; )
@@irbisae4964 On my 1300 dollar razer blade 15 I’m able to run witcher 3 at high settings at 110 fps. (consoles are mostly medium with a few high settings) keep in mind its a laptop, custom built PC are usually way cheaper
I felt empty after playing this game and all its DLCs, ive played cyberpunk, but it doesn't give me that same feeling that I got from playing witcher 3.
I'm considering witcher 3 since it's on sale atm, but idk if I could get into the story. Watching some to get a feel for it, it's so bizarre, not sure it's really my tastes. Can't say I'm jumping at the idea of it. I prefer RPGs where you can customize the character and the like, and stuff that's sci-fi. Prob gonna do cyberpunk eventually, would fit that more I think, but don't like the cost atm.
Just finished this today for the 3rd time (haven't played it for a few years so it mostly felt brand new again) and it was just as, if not even more, enjoyable as the first time! One thing I notice in this trailer though, is that Geralt moves, runs and climbs a lot more fluidly than in the released game. Not sure why they changed it to something a little clunkier, but that's really only a minor gripe in possibly the greatest rpg ever made.
Si, este juego era de su versión en desarrollo. Estaba siendo ejecutado en una pc. Y pues al momento de lanzar lo tuvieron que hacerle un Downgrade muy fuerte.
There's mods that revert it to those animations called E3ARP. Well not really revert it, I think the mod author pretty much replicates it. Not sure why they changed it in the release version, animations have little to do with performance.
Oh god, I hope that in a next-gen version of the game we will finally see this masterpiece in all its glory, all the lost animations, great work with light, reflections, etc., all the things that unfortunately were cut out for the sake of optimization.
@@sur3089 Keep telling yourself that. The truth is back then only small percentage of the PC's could be able to run this game at E3 visuals. And while consoles played a big part in it, well sales. Anyway with nowadays technology it wouldn't be much of an issue to restore at least 3/4 of the lost visuals from e3/vgx era. Well I hope
This gameplay preview is the thing that sold the game to me and the reason I delved into all The Witcher games and books. The atmosphere when Gerald enters the city, the visuals, incredible details. It feels like a living breathing world and you're a part of it. The immersion is the most important thing in a open world game for me and this game is one of the few that makes it absolutely great. If a game makes you just travel around aimlessly just to enjoy the world that means the open world designers made an amazing job.
There are so many aspects truly great about this game - the music, the action, the dialogue, the drama, the humor, the horror, the characters ... but if you play it you immediately feel how the composition of all aspects creates this very unique experience. It is more than the summ of it's parts; The Witcher 3 is one big magic moment. And still in my personal Top5 after 3 decades of gaming.
@@ReviewerMalayali Right now I would say 1. The Legend of Zelda 2. Red Dead Redemption 3. The Witcher 4. Resident Evil 5. NieR:Automata But this is a personal Top5, not a general one. And I always put whole IPs in the Top5, not single entries - because otherwise several entries in a franchise would block the whole Top5. In addition there are two special spots of the heart: Shenmue (because it was the first game that really gave me the impression of freedom) and Destiny (because it was the best multiplayer-koop-experience.) What is yours?
I think it's by far the single biggest city in a game, that isn't focused on a city (so AC franchise doesn't count, because the city /is/ the map). I don't know of anything that comes close.
@@eliharel4257 ghost recon wildlands have some big cities but thats in bolivia. Assassins creed games have them too but those are different map assets. Probably the closest one is from the elder scrolls, the one city of the elves, i forgot the damn name
@@SunLitPandaFury They are, big AAA corpos cant make beautiful and interesting games anymore or very few can. There are small indie games that look interesting tho.
The devs have put a lot of work not only in the gameplay but in the story. They have read the books and understand them so well because all the pieces matches. I do not care if andrzej doesn't consider the games canon, it's an amazing continuation of the saga whatever is canon or not.
The games are a continuation from the books, they did write the story based on the events of the books. My point is the games are faithful to the lore of the books
Gareth Rees The games are after the events of the books, they did not take anything from the books, however, there was a story-arch that was left open in the last two books of the saga (the one about the Wild Hunt), so the story of Witcher 3 is going to be canon to me no matter what Sapkowski says :P Witcher 3 is the real ending of the saga to me at this point :P
Literally will never forget this game, it’s hands down the best game I have ever played. It was like watching a movie but you get to decide what happens. It’s 2021 now and I still put this over AC Valhalla and other new gen games
AC: Valhalla is Far Cry 3 set in a Viking setting. It's just downright pathetic compared to Witcher 3 even with the fact that this game was 5 years younger.
This game improved my English. The first rpg game where I genuinely read and wanted to understand what’s going on finished it 5 times since then. This is undoubtedly the best game I’ve ever played!
by making the game run incredibly well even on mediocre hardware? Its brilliantly polished and if you have the PC that can handle it it looks absolutely mind blowing maxed out.. great looking game I just hate the shadow pop in even on ultra..
Igor Bajic Hey I did the Kayran quest yesterday. Just started playing this game 3 days ago. What a masterpiece. Play on Normal but, damn this shit is difficult.
Yeah i made the mistake and started to play on Insane, because I like to play on the hardest difficulty available, but it turns out that is has Permadeath, so I had to swallow my pride and play on Dark, not ready for Perma yet :D
Lmao people dreaming with something impossible to realizing through a simple update... To get return this graphic CD PROJECTK must to remakes the game from beginning

best game ive ever played hands down, anyone considering it needs to just bite the bullet and buy it. you dont have to play the other games to understand the lore. so good!
Best characters, best music, best places, this is the witcher 3, thank you CD Projekt for creating this masterpiece, this game will always have a place in my heart ❤.
This demos imventory system is horrible looking, the orange colour and everything is just not good looking for me, i really like the new inventory system for its simple look and it has good colours and all that

The campfire is complete shit, he need to ignite and put out the fire every time i meditate its so damn slow and stupid, also the inventory just doesnt fit the games theme at all really, that inventory fits witcher 2 way better. Every witcher game has different style huds, and its good that tw3's hud isnt the same kind as tw2. Its just impractical hud that doesnt work well, the only thing that i liked about it is that you cant see the enemy levels
9 years later, 3 generations of consoles, over 50 million copies sold, personally multiple playthroughs, with hundreds of hours immersed into this story both the main story and both dlcs, I can only think of one word that accurately describes this game. Perfect.
I will try cyberpunk when it comes but dont expect a masterpiece like the witchers. Cyberpunk wont have medieval weapons, other races than humans only, no slavic music by percival, no slavic culture as well, no geralt or any other witcher, no roach and no castles or cities
At least the graphics still look gorgeous on PC, even after the graphics downgrade. This has to have been the best purchase I have made in my life. Worth.
I remember watching this gameplay every single day while waiting for the game, I watched it while I was eating, I kept showing it to my friends and family. When the game finally came out I was just like a little kid doing weird noises and all lol Now almost 10 years later I keept playing this game and became one of my favorite videogames of all time, what a masterpiece!
STILL the best game of all time. Only Cyberpunk 2077 or the next AAA game in the Witcher world will top that. This is not just a game. This is a life expirience.
I only got into the franchise last year...I read all the books, played all the witcher games, and binged any and all lore I could find. Safe to say, Im glad to be a part of one of the greatest franchises ever created! Thanks to CDPR and others involved in creating this masterpiece, and I hope we get more successful games in the future ❤
this version had better graphics and a very different plot compared to the final version. In the final version you kill the griffin in White Orchard for the Nilfgaardian that made camp there, and in return he says where yennefer is, not Ciri. Also seems like in this pre-release version Djikstra was the owner of the estabishment that in the final game was of Whoreson Senior (Dandelions buys it later). Very interesting to notice that they changed the beggining of the game a lot in less than a year before release.
Im still playing this game first time and not yet finish :) Started in 2017, but i went to the army, so in winter 2019 buyed new pc and continued :P Played 63 hours, 12 level, finished yesterday Family Matters (Bloody baron), Ladies of the wood next (Witchers). Have great oils, grenade and others. Also playing Gwent, beat easily all of them who give me unique cards in Velen (quest), in Novigrad (quest). Now wanna go to the tournament. I doing all secondary quests what i can do and go to all unknown places, those where need higher level i come later ofc. :D so much need to do and i like it. I love this game. Truly best game of all time.
if not the greatest. Honestly if CDPR goes through with the 4th game and it's still similar to Cyberpunks and Witchers style of quests and stuff I feel like the game could raise the standards once more
December 2019 and this is still the best game I've ever played. Definitely changed how I think of video games as art. Before for me it was Half Life 2....but Witcher 3 is an unparalleled masterpiece.
Witcher 3 IMO is better than Last of Us and A LOT better than RDR2 (personally I believe RDR2 was overrated). Haven't played God of War believe it or not
@@WalksandSuch oh please dont be like that. I mean you can dislike RDR2 if you want but call it overrated is something that no one should do. Its literally a masterpiece in every aspect, so much detail, incredible graphics and story, really good soundtrack though not as good as The Witcher nor the last of us imo. But cmon what could be overrated about it ?
we can agree to disagree. I didn't like the story or the characters, and I didn't like the 'hub system' of the gang that made you keep having to come back and get quests from the same people as opposed to being able to wander in any direction and find quests. I liked RDR1 a lot more.
@@WalksandSuch Well I can understand, we cant all like the same things. But you really didnt like Arthur? His development was very interesting I think, same thing with Dutch. Though I have to say I've never played RDR1. Besides I still havent finished The Witcher but for now I really enjoy it
I actually started playing this game last month. I'm just in shock of how gorgeous it still looks in 2021. Put's Fallout 4 to shame easily. The DLC's are incredible too.
9 years later, looks like it was released only couple of years later. Same with a lot of 2015 games to be honest, just thinking for example Rise of the Tomb Raider and Arkham Knight, still look damn impressive. Compare that to 2001 or 2004 games and 2015+ games that were fully made for Xbox One and PS4 without 360/PS3 limitations, it's night and day. I think the major quirk about Witcher 3 is the lighting looks a bit rough on characters at least with ray-tracing off sometimes. Characters' hairs made out of hair cards also look a bit fake at times, other than Geralt's which uses another system to make individual hair strands. Other than that, it looks damn impressive.
Umer Farooq if thats a perfect game to him then let it be. He probably didnt encounter bugs and was throughly impressed and entertained throughout the game, which makes it perfect in his eyes.
@@UmerFarooq-db5gu I just came to confirm that whether it has glitches, bugs, whatever maybe freezing or crashes, it still remains at the top of the gaming chain, yes, best game of all time hands down! Doubt there'll ever be a better game...

Cyberpunk 2077 was stuttering on their incredibly high end E3 PCs. The downgrade would be noticeable if they were just trying to make it run on mid-range PCs - thanks to consoles, it won't be looking anywhere near as good as it did during E3.
Yes better lighting, LOD, draw distance, clouds, color palette, fire and smoke effects, particle effects, user interface, faster and cooler combat, dodging running, jogging, jumping animations and also these badass looking swords that are missing from the game for some god damn reason
I remember seeing this gameplay for the first time...man the memories. I was so eager for the game's launch, even though i only played it in 2016. I cried the first time i played and i still cry in some moments of the game. My first xbox one game and my no.1 game of my entire life
