The fact that this video is the culmination of 36 hours of trying to beat this raid is insane. Bungie was NOT joking when they said they made this raid a challenge
36 hours, think the Raid needs a nerf so does the NPCs in the Pale Heart. If it took these professional players 36 hours, can’t see player retention lasting long. Could be the Final for Bungie and Destiny. 36 hours is totally unrealistic for the majority of players .
@my0866 This is contest mode so the enemies are supposed to be hard for the first 48 hours of the raid release. Also, the npcs in the pale heart are easy, especially compared to how high the light level of neomuna was. To find the pale heart difficult you would need to run double primaries and use no abilities.
@@my0866 the majority of players already arent playing raids, it’s not an issue. Besides, they can tweak it a little. And if you’re having trouble with the ads in the Pale Heart, then I'm sorry to say you have serious skill issues
It felt like almost a final straw for him knowing he didn’t need to stay, seemed like he felt out of place particularly throughout the lost ghost missions
The raw emotion on caydes face when he says youre my favourite never forget that. Incredible writing and animation to make our favourite exo punch us right in the heart
It's kinda refreshing having engaging damage phase. Not just boss sitting stunned and become damage sponge in front of the well but actually trying to fight back and resist forcing you to pay attention to everything around you.
I loved it when the whole chat went from “mute the stream” to “go to sleep” to “World first titan, let’s goo!!!” It was beautiful ;-; Edit: Oh my god, I wasn’t expecting this comment to pop off
yeah like dcm said he was the second titan to clear, i was watching live and at that point i was like "what's the point in him still going, may as well sleep". Guess he still made a pretty good ranking in the raid race though, above Datto even, so I guess it was worth it anyway.
That’s the face of a man who has lost all sanity but remains determined to succeed no matter the cost, hats off cross and team, you guys absolutely deserve the clear
Love that moment when the light leaves Cross' eyes thinking that everyone is dead, and then the pure ecstasy hits as the Witness jerks back because Frost snuck in that last clutch sniper goldy shot. What a finish.
I just want to take this time to say Rest In Peace Lance Reddick. We miss you and wish you could be here for this moment, but we know you are here with us in spirit ❤️
it gets to the point where its unhealthy, idk about Datto but Sweat and his team get up a couple hours before the raid to get prepped plus the 30+ hrs they were raiding makes it about 30-35 hrs playing a video game. u start to hear things at 48 hrs awake and get drunk like symptoms at 24 so resting was the right move especially considering they had 48 hrs to clear.
Yall are so dramatic bro… who cares that a grown man stayed up ONE night to play video games…? Especially a video game with a buildup of 10 years. I know for sure that if I could, I would have stayed up all day/night as well just to complete the raid. Yall acting like Aztecross is gonna die because he stayed up for over a day. Let the man live.
And we haven’t even seen all of it yet which is the crazy part! This expansion has blown me away The pale heart has all of our memories from several different seasons, locations and it’s just cool. I knew they could cook but this took it to another level. You can tell everyone’s heart went in to it
apparently its been said by an insider that bungie execs kinda panicked after the backlash on the layoffs and actually sat down to listen to the devs. This is the result. Who couldve guessed that letting the people actually making the game direct development would result in a better game? /s
I watched this live and i screamed with them lmao Frost's POV was great, he hip shot with Caydes sniper while jumping when everyone was dead. It was so fucking clutch. What a raid man.
Glad to say i was there at the end! The final shape has been amazing. It makes you sniffle a bit watching all the cutscenes, seeing everything unfold. After so much time playing, everything came to an end. I am excited to see what happens after this but i cant imagine its going to be easy for Bungie.
watched you and Datto as I played for a whole 30+ hours except I took a 2 power nap. Really got alot of respect for you and the fireteam's dedication. So glad you and Les pulled it off contest mode!
They didn't give in and use the 6 Hunter Strat. I love it. I'm so proud of this Team. Great work, Aztecross, Les, Ifrostbolt, Benny, Kujay, Mactics. You guys are awesome WF Titan!
I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING!!!! When the witness dies at the end of the mission, all those little bits of light it breaks up into look similar to the three little blobs of light that come out of the traveler while our guardian is sitting and watching. Maybe the witness isn’t completely gone?? It could also just be an indicator of where the next three episodes are taking us, similar to the cutscene at the end of red war.
It seems those might be some fragments of its darkness which narratively go and "influence" the 3 plotlines of the acts. During the drawn cutscenes here you can see that there are teases of the upcoming content. Failsafe with Vex on Nessus (I'm pretty sure she will be the corrupted vex boss with a new body, like Ultron from Marvel had, as we see in the concept teaster of this episode) then Fikrul with the Spider. Then we see Xivu Arath which I think will get the control of all Taken with that sword
You could tell they directed that message at the player, and the fact you can go back and play multiple times just makes it even worse, the nostalgia of the s1 tower his voice and his quips I had hope we’d get more of him in the coming months
@@Hyperion-uv6nq yup. I read the lore book on the man they call cayde. I love it. He's always silly but when he's serious he gives good advice. Have so many screenshots of quotes from him.
I was on and off with youu guys throughout the 36 hours of gameplay. This, the culmination, is hands down the most epic moment ii've ever experienced in gaming. The fact that you guys kept going and resisted the urge to take a break it almost miraculous. I have so much respect for you all! Congratulations, Cross and the whole team! You may not have gotten world's first but you're the #1 team in my mind.
They cooked. The hardest raid in destiny. With no server issues. Almost no bugs. 10 minutes longer than last wish to complete day one. 1 team completion in 24 hours. If this was a normal day 1 there would have been only ONE single team who beat it in time. What an absolute capstone to destiny 2s first saga.Well done to the boys for pushing through and to frost for that clutch hero moment at the end and getting the killing blow on the boss.
Cross!!! I do not condone staying awake for 40h. But the look of sheer joy on your face and the cheers from your team as Frostbolt landed that Golden Gun shot are the highlight of the raid race for me. Hats off to your team. You may not have come in first place, but you beat the hardest encounter of all, which is raiding for 36h with your friends without stopping. This is a priceless once in a lifetime moment. And I couldn’t be happier for you all. Even first place wouldn’t have been as truly epic as this. I was doing other missions with a couple friends and we were all watching and cheering you on. We wanted you to go to bed, but we also wanted you to get it done. Every time you got close we’d stop what we were doing to tune in. And when you all finally got it we were cheering for you! Sleep well, and congratulations to you and your team!
ngl, when i saw cayde as our ghost died i knew exactly what was gonna happen and i still cried, and i started playing D2 after the whole cayde incident so i wasnt even that attached. Cacn't imagine what it was liek for you guys
This is why I watch these day one raid races. The enjoyment of others playing the game keeps the game alive for me. I enjoy it too. But nothing beats the excitement on everyone else. Everybody that plays this game makes it more fun for me to enjoy.
I won't be watching this until I've done my own run, but I've gotta say - You all are INSANE for going as long as you did straight. Absolutely wild and am glad y'all got the clear.
Watched from beginning to end, best stream I’ve ever watched. These guys deserve that title and exotic like real champs. Good job AzteCross and your team!! No matter how long it took, yall still worlds first on my book 🤙
after hearing the male voice for the guardian in the last cutscene with Cayde i think the female voice has so much more emotion too it if you haven't had a chance to hear it yet try and find a video of it.
I think it fits. It's just the way male and female present their desperation. Males tend to be more angry, kinda like John Wick when he talks about how much of his loved ones was 'taken from me'.
i know there's more episodes coming but this honestly feels like the best possible ending for the story where everything kinda makes sense and most of the loose ends got tied up. I really hope they dont just start whipping big bad guys out of their ass and either end it or take the time build a new story that makes sense like the traveler leaving or something but then were just back to where we started with d2.
I kept jumping in and out of the stream because of work and other commitments. I was soooooooo elated when that last shot took down the witness in the raid. I was sure they all wiped and when I saw the witness go down, I was so giddy for them. This round was just a clean run and once I saw them get to damage phase three, i was like, "C'mon... this is the one." Yoi are all legends for this. I have a whole new level of respect for you guys.
was proud to be watching your stream those 36 hours man, you guys did great and frostbolts clutch shot was insane!!! post final shape, i guess we could say the real destiny was all the guardians we met along the way
Cross buddy, I watched yall for around 13 hours yesterday. My whole clan was on our seats and when yall finally did it we cheered like my favorite team won the damn Super Bowl.
The one I connected to since vanilla Destiny 1 was Cayde-6 & dont get me wrong love Lance Redick too but Cayde-6 was my favorite from the beginning. When they killed him in Forsaken it felt like losing someone close to me & I wanted revenge so bad. Seeing him revive our ghost & go out on his own terms feels like a good way to go but I'm still mad as hell at Bungie for doing this to me twice. They wanted to not pull on them nostalgia strings but give us an ending worth the sacrifice made.
I was playing this WHILE you were still in the Raid. And then jumped back to the live stream in time to say you triumph! Well done to you all for staying so cool for so long. Definitely a pinnacle moment for Destiny.
It was something else watching this whole experience live was truly something special a solid day and a half…the level of love and dedication this man had for this raid was something else ggs cross, ggs ❤
Watching nearly 30 hours of this stream is in the top of my Destiny memories. Your resilience is that of a true Guardian. Congrats Cross to you and your entire fireteam!
Congratulations man I was there for that final moment watching you guys and it was intense and I’m so happy you guys never gave up! Literally gave me chills watching you guys accomplish that! 🎉❤
Congrats brotha!!! Top 40 finish is nuts! So proud of you and the boys getting to The Witness in similar time to Salt and Datto! You guys are legends! Ngl when you guys got stuck on first encounter, I was worried, but what a finish! Getting through encounter 4 as quickly as you did was unbelievable!! Congrats boys. 👏
Seeing this live across a span of hours and meals and naps .. was so great. I bet bungie employees felt proud watching this and yelled with them like I did . Their faces dying with sleep
To see Cross just complete a 36 hour raid to play the final scene with 12 other players and finally see his ghost die. That must be some mental gymnastics going on in that exhausted body. Also respect to the fire team and the editors who stayed up even after the end to clip and upload this. Great job everyone.
I had been watching on and off. I was lucky enough to see it live. When I saw all the guardian downs with a sliver of health left.... I thought it was over. GG on the clutch by Frost!
Congratulations Cross. I kept checking in on the stream when I had the time, and I was seconds late to see Frostbolt deal the final blow and u and ur fireteam’s celebration. Yalls dedication is so insane. Happy that yall completed it. Also, why are people being so dramatic about you staying up to beat the raid 😭, who cares if a grown man stayed up one night??? I swear sum ppl acting like staying up for ONE night will kill you.
Such a cool experience watching this live. Congrats on the clear, gentlemen! Thanks for sharing this awesome experience with us, Cross. Hope you've had a good recovery after this 40 hour stream!
I was there to watch cross all 36 hours and safe to say I am so happy he finished the raid, staying up for that long and doing it the whole time is insane, congrats cross on the completion!
This raid, dattos stream, and cross's stream have been given my almost full attention for 36 hours until last night, this 36 hour raid is hands down the most brutal experience I've ever seen in gaming, bungie absolutely hit a home run with this raid, shame ill never get to run it.. Hats off cross for standing for 36 hours haha crazy crazy crazy guy... well done guardians
