AAAAA The troll foot umbrella stand that Tonks keeps clumsily tripping on and setting off the portrait of Walburga Black haha Im like commenting as I watch LOL

This box was definitely more book references than movie ones. Those who know the books well get the references pretty much right away. I personally love to listen to the audiobooks at least one a year.

I am obsessed with the troll foot. It’s charmingly hideous and a sneaky reference to book 5. I’d *love* to put a plant in it and tuck it into a nice little corner of my patio garden.

PNB Phineas N. Black was a headmaster at Hogwarts so he had a portrait in Dumbledore's office and one at Grimmauld place. Hermione took it in her bag and used it to spy a bit on Snap4 while he was headmaster and stuff. It was in the books but they didnt include it in the movies.

I mean, they’re not niche references for the books. The portrait of phineas is introduced in book 5, there are references to it in 6 in dumbledores office, and the trio carry it around for like, a third of deathly hallows. Tonks always knocks over the troll foot umbrella stand when entering number 12, which makes the portrait of Sirius’s mother wake up and yell. In general, the entire house of black and black family are known to be dark wizards. It makes sense that the items in the box would be dark. I wish they had included the music box that makes everyone sleepy (until Ginny closed it) that was thrown away in book 5.

I ADORE how dark this box is tbh. It reflects how dark the house of Black is as well. Would love a sibling box for Reg and Sirius tbh, that would be really cool!

In the books, Slytherin's Locket is described as a large, oval locket of heavy gold with a serpentine 'S' in green jewels. Dustin said he made it silver because it felt more Slytherin. The movie locket is a whole different thing.

I thought that this was a really strong box, and if you are a HP reader, it would make you excited to see all of the references~

It’s obviously gonna be dark if it is Black Family themed. I love that they are all book based. Loooove everything.

The reason the lockets are similar is because the “adult” cover of Deathly Hallows has a locket just like that design! So in a way it’s book accurate!!!

What I did with the mermaid glass piece, & now Kraecher, is glued a magnet on the back. Fridge art!! And if you put the tapestry under a piece of glass for a coffee table, that'd be neat. (?)

I honestly think they outdone themselves in this box. i loved it!!!! i would not use the elf head either but its such a cool detail, and the black family is a dark and evil family and i think they showcased that so well!!!

I don't know if I've ever heard you mention this: have you only seen the movies or have you read the books? The troll foot is pretty prominent in the books. I also didn't like the key but liked the key chain. I don't really see the items as niche myself. They all seemed super spot on for the House of Black and I loved this box. For me the best items are toss ups between the troll leg, house elf head, and the headmaster portrait pin. Best sub box. Wizarding Trunk is by far #1 these days.

I really liked this box. I think expecting a box on the Black family to have only "light" items is odd. The whole family (before Sirius) was dark, Slytherins, pure bloods. I thought the house elf head was genius! The troll foot was kind of a given for me. Tonks kept on tripping over it making Walburga shriek. Some unusual and one of a kind replicas were in it. The tapestry was really nice too, even though it's been done before.

I thought they hit it out of the park with book references! As soon as the theme of the box was announced, i hoped they would do a troll foot and elf head! The pin and portrait were brilliant ideas to!

I actually loved everything in this box. Even the key. Yes it's big but for a shelf and collection it's awesome. This box is all unusual and not the standard for characters etc. The family tree, you could make into a large cuddle pillow. Get a dark fabric for the back ❤ as always love your videos ❤ some dark items but so different

What I love about Cherry is that she shares her honest opinion. This may not have been her favourite box but she still did a wonderful job unboxing it. She might just have different taste in what she likes to include in her collection and that’s ok. Thanks Cherry

phineas nigellus isn't really that niche, imo. He was vital in locating Harry and allowing Snape to present him with the sword. I guess a lot of the film stuff has been done and it's now the book items that are being brought to life. I'd recommend listening to them to increase knowledge base and then things will make sense 😀

For the key, i think it's so big because it represent the black family. And from Sirius talk it's as big as their ego but that's just my theory.😁

A lot of comments eating at Cherry about missing references. I’ve reread HP many many many times and I can honestly say I STILL miss references all the time and it doesn’t mean me or Cherry love HP any less. I didn’t recognize the relevance of the troll foot honestly and the PNB I recognized his name of course but couldn’t place the name. Again doesn’t make either of us any less of a HP fan. I remembered the house elf head stuffing tradition of the Black family mainly just because that made a strong impression reading as a kid since it was incredibly disturbing. Obviously it’s not the only upsetting thing in HP but sometimes details stick and sometimes they don’t. Hence the rereading, but as adults we don’t always have the time and it isn’t for lack of trying. And when we do have the time sometimes we want to read or do other things which still doesn’t make either of us any less of a fan or love HP any less.

The plaque of the house-elf head was an honor for the elves and they did want it. They were happy to have it hanging even tho it's so dark 🤣.

Box: about one of the most dark families and includes dark themed items. Cherry: *surprised pikachu face* Lol I get where you’re coming from tho cherry, some of these I’m like, what do I do with it?? But they are all great quality at least!

I have read all the books (and listened to Stephen Fry read them multiple times) I guess I don’t have a Ravenclaw brain that holds onto all the details! 😅 I guess I have some rereading to do again…

I bought a troll foot at Universal. It was smaller, intended to hold pencils and the like. Instead I use it to hold my coffee sweetener packets. It's just a touch of the wizarding world in my coffee area.

Cherry I would turn the tapestry into a pillow case. For a smaller pillow if the material is thick enough. Another great video. Keep up all the great work. Also the troll foot pencil holder thing. Looks like you could put a small plant inside it. I would put it outside and use it as a planter.

Phineas black has a twin portrait at No. 12 grimauld place and his other portrait can be seen in Dumbledores study. This way phineas can travel to his other portait at grimauld place to relay info or secrets

The Creature Window is a reference to the Universal Studio Harry Potter Grimault Place - he peaks from the windows now and then.

This box is amazing, surely some items are very dark but it is a house of black box so I think everything is spot on! After all the Harry Potter books get darker each movie.

Cherry, you REALLY need to read the books again. You've forgotten so many details that it's makes me sad. Also, they got the Black Family Motto wrong. It's Toujours Pur which means Always Pure.

I loved the troll foot umbrella holder! The stained glass pieces go on your bookshelf, between books, with a light behind.

The chamber in the locket is for charmed items or items to make it a talisman.

I actually like the details of the key. My first thought was to hang it on a cork board with other Keys and pins. I love how different it is. I found you recently and am absolutely loving your videos. Your energy is absolutely infectious and I look forward to watching your videos.

You could put the troll foot in the garden and plant something in it. Like a succulent or something.

You could sow al the wal tapestries together and make magical curtains out of them or a Picknick blanket or a table linnen or make bags out of them or wrap presents in them. I have a lot of ideas. Personal I like using them as present wrapping and the Picknick blanket. The pictures look like golden age paintings of royals and nobles like the prins of orange

Ahhh I loved this box and how dark some of the items are. The troll umbrella (now pen) stand is probably my favorite and I think I'll put air plants in it. If you can get out the wrinkles then framing the tapestry would work. I definitely liked this one more than a one I received before. But I'm still not sure what to do with it, so if you end up framing, please share your process!

You could make a shadow box with the tapestry in the back and some Black family things in the front, or like things that remind you of Sirius :)

Oo you could tack the tapestry to a piece of cork or foam and then frame it! It would be sturdier and flatter and you could adjust it.

Phineas Nigellus' portrait hangs in Dumbledore's office as well as 12 Grimauld place. Hermione takes the one in Grimauld place and carries it in her beaded bag while they are camping. They take it out and ask him questions about Hogwarts.

gurl please finally reread the books! there are so many references that fly over your head these days :( i know it sounds dramatic but for me it takes a lot of the fun away

With the tapestry you could maybe use it as a decorative tablecloth or maybe use it as a scarf in your hair or something. I'd personally use it as a tablecloth on a table that doesn't risk spillage from drinks.

My favourite thing was the blood purifying crystals and second was the locket. My least favourite was the elf head door hanger. Personally I didn't enjoy this box or much in it and though it was quite a weak/weaker box.

With the tapestry you could use it as a background/backdrop for one of your shelves. The lights would shine through it nice I bet. And then dec. the shelf with dark arts things xxxx

I really want that troll foot as a vase for some beautiful fake/dried flowers!! Or put a small cup inside to make it a real (and safe to use) vase. yes we have had 1 of those exact necklaces b4 it came in a green box with a little square piece of paper with a note for rab if my memory serves me right in fact im pretty sure i have it on my shelf along with the 1 from noble collection. great vid as per usual xx

With so many W Trunks, I am begining to have a temporary display- like a seasonal display on top of a dresser. So this month's is Noble House of Black. The tapestry is the table cloth, screaming portrait is in an ornate frame, potion, I added a couple more to the display and troll's foot and all the stuff from this box. Bokrey hanging next to a framed poster of Wanted Sirius Black on the wall above this dresser. It looks really amazing as a vignette of House of Black. But I agree with you Cherry, it is dark. But 12 Grimauld Place is dark! When I look at this dresser, I feel as though I have stepped into Sirius' house!

Many people have suggested using the troll foot as a planter to put at your front door or in your garden. If you do that, make sure to go to your local hardware store and get some weather proofing spray or other sealant so the paint job doesn't get ruined by rain and dirt. You'd probably also need to drill a small hole in the bottom for drainage so the plant doesn't get waterlogged. Seal the inside, outside, and bottom.

It's definitely a box that brings out small references that only hardcore fans will know which is great but I had a similar reaction to you to some of those items when I opened my box. Definitely not keeping some of these, like the elf 😂 Might use the foot as a plant pot 🤣
