[Dorothy] When all the world is a hopeless jumble And the raindrops tumble all around Heaven opens a magic lane When all the clouds darken up the skyway There's a rainbow highway to be found Leading from your windowpane To a place behind the sun Just a step beyond the rain
Because of COVID, I wasn’t able to preform in the production and it had me really bummed. I needed to supplement my theatre experience and this video did it. Thank you so much!
I love this version! It is the complete version... starting with : "When all the world is a hopeless jumble..." Wish I could find an instrumental of this version
I seen this live when it came to Detroit at the Fox theater the only thing that I didn't really like was that the tornado was just the projection around the house to make it look like it was in the air rather than having like a model house spinning around or something and having the lady in the rocking chair come by and the cow you know when she's looking out the window other than that beautiful production
When all the world is a hopeless jumble, And the raindrops tumble all around, Heaven opens a magic lane. When all the clouds darken up the skyway, There's a rainbow highway to be found. Leading from your window pane To a place behind the sun, Just a step beyond the rain. Somewhere over the rainbow way up high There's a land that I heard of Once in a lullaby Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream Really do come true Someday I'll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly Birds fly over the rainbow Why then oh why can't I? If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow Why oh why can't I?
I find this devastating and relatable to my experience in life. The fact I had to deal with people who did crap and would play the victim card and get away with it.
In 1948 Judy did a radio show where she sang the complete version of this song including the intro. The quality is not that great but it's the only version of Judy singing the entire song. Enjoy: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D1lbHgdUI_s.htmlsi=MK5wXWe0U-wMad4U
I wanted her to relax her throat a little bit on the "where" of somewhere part. She has a nice voice but the emotions are gone upon delivering the lines when she becomes too technical with the singing.
This is a song that belongs only to Judy Garland. You are right about her technical awareness and concentrating on hitting the notes instead of relaxing like Judy did and just let it flow out. Here again it is impossible to compare this song to any other singer and it is almost an embarrassment sometimes. However, technically she did a very good job singing this song . This is a somewhat difficult song to sing because it is somewhat rangy and trained singers must concentrate the whole time to make it work. Judy was a complete natural singer and talent and everyone wants to sing like her which is understandable but they can't. It is so unfair to rate or compare other singers singing this song because nobody can ever sing it like Judy Garland. That is why very few singers will ever attempt this song because they're treading on sacred ground! 🤔🤗😇
Hola Fabiana Saito, ¿conoces la versión "Somewhere Over The Rainbowde" desde Mimi? Aquí Mimi canta una vez sin su hermana Josy. Diviértete y saludos desde Berlín. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xlk3hZCooI8.html
does anyone happen to know who this is? It doesnt look or sound like Kalie Kaimann (sp?) who was credited for the tour. I'm curious if it was an understudy or a different cast altogether.
In fact this is the "real song". The Judy Garland version in the movie is a shortened version. They cut the introductions of all the male characters songs and they cut out some of Dorthy's.
