There is a thing called *Potential Energy*- Stored Energy. There is also *Kinetic Energy*- Energy in Motion. I always feel even through the "100s" of years that "WE" have been fed scraps,oppressed, used,manipulated,raped and told "when you CAN and when you CANNOT" That has built SO MUCH pain and discomfort(Potential Energy) That when it's time to act...WE MOVE(Kinetic Energy) It ain't always pretty and War is not supposed to be,but we are a forgiving and peaceful PEOPLE and that has worked against us more often than none. As a Bronx crip, I'm confused because if those dudes were so welcoming of crips, then how the hell did it end up going south where bloods and crips started waring in NY pen and Rikers? When I hit Rikers back in 1999 as a Crip, the war was already in full fledge. And when I hit uo north in February 2000, it was on on sight. Yo I’m sure these dudes were wild as hell when they were younger, but the fact that they adjusted to the conditions of the island in the 90’s and made it out must be respected. To say fuck it, it is what it is, and tap into the most primitive of human impulses to SURVIVE speaks for itself. I suspect those that criticize the brothers for the choices they made are insecure about the fact that they themselves wouldn’t have been able to do the same. It’s truest a shame that the jail and prison system is set up the way that it is. I wish these dudes all the best in transitioning over into life on the outside.
