RIP Shannen. I have always felt lucky because I could sense the depth of the characters that you could play beyond the roles. Your commitment to helping other cancer patients has been phenomenal.
A legend both on and off screen. R.I.P Shannen, once a Charmed one, forever a Charmed one! She helped make Charmed one of the greatest supernatural drama series of all time alognside Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano as well as Beverly Hills 90210 and the 2008 version, etc
Charmed was my show. I hate Shannon was only in 3 seasons. Wishing Shannon lots of love and hope she beats this cancer. She is awesome. The OG Charmed all the way. Shannon, Alyssa Milano, Holly and Rose ❤️
yeah dude....the camera, lighting, clothes, makeup, and the soft lighting from the lower resolution camera gave their skin an even glow. theres some scenes when the lights are on shannen's hair when she had the season 1 round hair, she straight up looks like an angel. S1E4 Dead Man Dating, the episode beginning when she answers the door and kisses Andy
I'm so shattered about Shannen. She was my favorite and I just feel s broken with her being gone. It seems so surreal and I just don't know how to process this. She was my favorite. Shannen I love you. I know you're watching over your mom, Bowie, Holly, Sarah, and more. Please let them sense you near. I feel awful... so I can only imagine how awful they feel. I hate cancer. I hate it.
Constance, If you ever read this, I want you to know you were such a better writer and producer than Brad Kern could ever hope to be. Your first two seasons were easily the best and have that Aaron Spelling timeless quality to them. When you wrote for the sisters, they felt like real people - sisters first and witches second - and the demons and warlocks were always cleverly interwoven into their lives. I wish the show had stayed in your hands - because lord knows Cole was a mistake, and the trajectory of season 3 led the show to oblivion. Thank you for gifting us a show that would comfort us through our years and stay in our hearts for decades.
I was miss Prue on the film, but still alive in reality, now still alive in another world called our house. We will see her again. RIP. My wonderful friend.
Shannen is vibrant, energetic, bubbly, her laugh is gorgeous. seems like a lovely person. acting is tough and I think the "bad girl" rep was hollywood BS/half truths and a story that was blown up by the media. She was always so damn gorgeous on the show. the makeup hair and clothes all on point. She and the sisters were really glammed up in Season 2 and 3. Very good show, Season 1 is my fav. The whole show had such a unique style EDIT: also she seems like she has a big heart and feels things very deeply. very sensitive and honest. very engaging and outgoing. she has also worked very hard- she was in movies all through the 2000s. she has a very big social presence when shes in a room. and in a good way
Yeah, I never feel like I'm seeing a mean or "bad girl" type when I see Shannen, maybe it's just me being naive who knows. But I always felt like she seemed to be really cool and sweet. I rarely trust what the media has to say because they always blow up crap to epic proportions to suit their agenda or to get ratings or clicks.
@@kendallrivers1119 yeah, Ive watched interviews with shannen and she always seems the most friendly and vibrant, compared to other actresses. she is really engaging and honest. ✔
@@Itsbritney94 yeah, certain stories also take off on their own and half truths get blown up. every interview ive seen w her, she is so vibrant and sweet. That's the problem with fame- people are easy to put you on a pedestal then quick to take it away. Shannen seems like the sweetest person of all, ironically
The new “House of Halliwell” podcast is where Holly and Brian and Drew (Chris) rewatch the show and talk about behind the scenes things for each episode. They are currently in the middle of Season 2.
I really miss Charmed, but the original with Shannen in it. After she left it just wasn't the same. Shannen was the heart of that show. The remake or reboot whatever you want to call it was a mistake and a load of crap. Hell I could write a better show than what they tried to do without Shannen. Regardless Prudence Halliwell will always be a part of my life. Shannen and Prue forever.
Agree,Prue was mesmerising, she was brave, wise, smart and oh my,God gorgeous,Prue's death really devastated me.Prue will always have special place in my heart, she s like an angel, looooove her, whyyy did she have to die, show was boring without her😢
Whenever I watch seasons 1-3 I always mourn what could have been. Don't get me wrong, the goofiness of later seasons was fun but the first three were, for lack of a better word, magic.
I completely agree. I love Paige, but the show overall sadly took kind of a nosedive in quality towards the end of S5 IMO, and I can’t imagine it would go the direction it did in terms of story and tonal shift if Shannen stayed on
@@d.lhudson3875 I would say season 4 still fit into the dark tone, but Paige made it a little lighter and more fun. But from S5 and onward the tonal shift is very evident and it became pretty silly and honestly a little cheap looking in comparison
Watching Shannen and Alyssa compliment one another on-screen feels so surreal, now, knowing what we now know, or have been told by Shannen, Alyssa, and Holly.
And them saying the other one cast to play “Phoebe” just so happen to want to leave and Alyssa coming at the 11th hour, but in reality, Alyssa forcing her way in requiring another actress to be cut… imagine if she never came to the show? Pure never would have died
You can see that most of the interviews were made during the filming of the season 2 episode "Give Me A Sign". They wear the same clothes as in the episode.
Thanks for uploading this. I didn't see this originally because our cable didn't offer E! Channel until years later. I saw in the comments that Holly and Brian now do a podcast. I'm definitely going to need to check that out.
Prue was really the whole show. Shannen was just great at that role. But thats not to take anything away from Holly or Alyssa because they did well too. But Shannen was and still is truly fearless.
Well that’s the point. The show wasn’t about her, which is probably why the cast members had problems with the writing development. The first season felt like Prue + guest
Yes, i wish she was in way more movies and tv shows, we deserved more of her in her prime, she was kind of blacklisted after being fired from Charmed, I blame Alyssa
Shannen Doherty just shines, it’s just so obvious. Alyssa Milano compromised the show by building a case against Shannen. There were some fun episodes later on but the show wasn’t the same or as regarded and it’s relevancy dimmed after Shannen left. Thank you Shannen for making Charmed magical ❤
“A show about three sisters who happen to be witches, not three witches who happen to be sisters.” “we aren’t trying to send a big message. We’re just goofballs having fun.” I sometimes wonder what Charmed would be like if it took itself seriously. It may not be the show fans fell in love with, but the show had so much potential to be great.
Love charmed it's the best and every single episodes to and the right actors and actresses million percent and picked right parts for all characters. Everything about charmed was and is million percent perfect I wouldn't change a single thing my love for charmed will never die ♥ ❤
I’m still mad they killed Prue.. Pipers hair was ALWAYS ON POINT! So full and cut beautifully… And Phoebe was the hot, little sister, and I loved that.
Whatever conflicts or disagreements there were between the actresses or others that caused Doherty to leave. It must be said, this trio had something in common. I really like the first 2-3 seasons, in one breath. When Doherty was gone, the unifying element was gone. It wasn't interesting anymore. Also, it feels like the scenario has radically changed. Also, the stories were different, not like in the first seasons. If before then everything was realistic, seemed subordinate to each other, then with season 4 everything changed very quickly. Anyway, I'm grateful for the great first seasons :)
Spare a thought and a prayer for Shannen Doherty (Prue) whos cancer has spread to her brain and who is now terminally ill. She is having whole brain radiation to buy her some extra time but typically such a diagnosis results in death in 6-9 months.
It is interesting to hear them talk about how close they are though lol. Also... completely forgot "necked" was how Shannen pronounced naked. I'm emotional.
I’m a breast cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with stage 2 in 2010. I’m absolutely gutted by Shannen’s death. When my cancer comes back, and it will, I can only hope to possess a quarter of Shannon’s strength.
@@user-us5pv8zw3z Why do you feel it will? I'm sorry if that came off rude at all. I don't know if that's something that is expected with that kind of cancer. Sending you so much love and light. My thoughts are with you ❤
Absolutely appalling!!! How could this scumbag betray her in her most vulnerable state! So glad Shannon is still standing despite all she has been through! She is strength personified!
The clip of Shannen laughing with Alyssa felt good to see. I know they actually didn't get along, but as a fan since I was a child, it's nice to see them not fighting and see just what i remember.
@@lifeofehs Shannen said their relationship started going downhill in season 2. Maybe it was at the tail end of it but I know she said it started in season 2
I like all the seasons of Charmed , however, 1,2,3 with Prue remain the best they followed some kind of logic; Prue was the elder sister hence the most powerful one however the show focused on all the three sisters . after Shannon had left the show , all the projectors were directed to Alissa milano , it suggested that she became the most powerful one , while Piper who took the place of the elder sister and had very powerful powers was kept behind…. oh!! yes.. and the lutins , the valkyries, the fairies…and… fairytales… I did not like the turn charmed had taken after Shannon had left.
Yes, I love season 1 to 3...after that it not only changed actors but direction also. It definitely wasnt near AS believable after she left with all the leprechauns and what not
now i can see how Lori Rom was cast as Phoebe, she looks identical to connie burge, whom Phoebe was based! Shame we didnt get to see more of her portrayal
I knew it, they did their research, so many of the details of the first few seasons are do niche and clear representations of irl wicca, paganism, witchcraft and folklore that it had to have been researched
I miss the good story lines in the episodes 1-4 had good story lines then 5-8 cuz they was just tired and not trying anymore with the demons and love story
I mean don't get me wrong I wish Prue wouldn't have left the show I wish it would have been Phoebe but the writer that created the show Constance M. Burge wrote the storylines for 1-4 when she found out they we're gonna let Piper get Pregnant she actually wanted her too have Twins after the future changed A girl and Boy but the network said no to alot of her ideas so that's y she left the show of producing it and writing for it after season 4
To me seasons 1 and 2 were the best : the sisters relationship evolving, the development of characters, the demons from legends all around the world...Then, season 3 arrived. Apart Prue's death, the development of characters became way less mature (god now when I'm watching it, I think a 10 year old wrote the script), the demons were less interesting, and the clothes really got smaller and shorter. Actually the creator, Constance M. Burge, was the executive producer during season 1 and 2. But as she desagreed with Brad Kern, she left her place and stayed as executive consultant until season 4 (then she totally left). And it explains A LOT.
They have a Podcast “House of Halliwell” where Holly and Brian and Drew (Chris) rewatch the show and talk about behind the scenes things for each episode. They are currently in the middle of Season 2.
@@savvytravel2318 Aww totally. Alyssa isn't unattractive or anything but she didn't have that magical quality that Shannon has. In the later seasons you can really tell as well that a lot of things were simply to stroke Alyssa's ego like all the guys fawning over her and every guy she wants she gets. Quite sad really.
Yeaa,Prue was magical, wise, smart, gorgeous, charming, she s like an angel, show was boring without her,Prue will always have special place in my heart, its like she's put some spell on me,i loooove her so much, she s like magical🤩💗💖💕
I wish Brad Kern had been let go because Constance Burge was such a genius and I think the show was better under her. I think he is the main source of drama between Shannen & Alyssa. God, what could have been... Shannen is truly the best.
It seems like that Alyssa was the problem her character should of left instead either way If Prue stayed on the show the younger sister would still of happened.
This show is so much better when Prue was in it... I wish she could have done a Brenda Walsh and at least stayed for a fourth season also I think it would have been better if a more worthy demon had killed her such as the source. Think about it through rest her life to defeat the source of all evil instead of some random unknown demon called Shax... It would have made the next season a whole lot better considering it took the death of one of the charmed ones to defeat the source. Just a theory ... Leo Was able to heal the both of them simultaneously the first time so I don’t get why he couldn’t do it again, I just don’t like the way her character was written off
One of my fave shows of all time. The remake sucked ass. I am sorry but the original one will always be the best. The new one will never amount to this one
