Stop already, his mother was the only one who made Elvis, the rest either were a thorn in his side or a delight to him. Elvis was his own man who wanted to be loved and wanted to bring people together. From his poor birth in 1935 to the biggest super star of all time, he worked his butt off, through every decade. Making over 700 songs, 31 movies, and almost teen years of touring in one nighters. No one works as hard as he did. He did 2 shows a night, 7 days a week for almost 6 months in Vegas. That's why you see so much film footage, and besides that his manager was driving him to get that 50% cut of his earnings. Give Elvis credit for being an original, a sexy symbol, a artist who sang every kind of music from Gospel to opera. He is in five music halls of fame and won 3 Grammy's for gospel. When he started in the mid 50's there weren't Grammies. Also one of the most generous humanitarians to ever live. We know history, you don't

Actually there is a criminal lack of high quality footage of later performances. Obviously it was more expensive then, but it is so sad we have so little. His opening shows in Vegas are alleged to have been out of this world and they were not captured - so wrong.

Actually Baz Luhrman said when he researched the vaults at Graceland for his movie "Elvis" he found there was so much footage especially of "That's the way it is" that people haven't even seen, it's astounding. He actually wants to use it for a follow up movie. the Elvis fan member Leon says there is tons of Elvis stuff that has never been released by Turner.

The Women Who Made Elvis. Not a good title. Gladys is the only woman who made Elvis. God blessed Elvis with awesome looks and a great voice. I don't think that Elvis ever realized how great he was. I love Elvis because he didn't act like he was better than anyone else. Money meant nothing to Elvis. He gave so much away to make others happy. Rest in peace beautiful Elvis. Elvis is my go to when I need a pick me up.

Anita Wood is the only woman Gladys approved of not June.....I really believe if he hadn't lost his mother & hadn't met Priscilla in Germany he would have married Anita. Anita had overheard Elvis talking to Vernon in the kitchen saying, "he had a hard decision to make between Anita & Priscilla" Anita told him, "she'd make it for him" and decided to break up. Anita's book stated they stayed up all night talking and crying over the decision. I feel his mother being alive during this would have made his decision different.

@@Patracat I'm glad for her that she was able to escape from Elvis. She had a wonderful marriage for forty six years. I don't know why people glorify Elvis so much. He was a very violent, gun fanatic and a terrible employer. He actually struck Sonny West in the face. In 1977, he took off with one of the Stanley boys to actually kill Red and Sonny West. How about trying to kill Mike Stone? He had a history of violence toward women. Overall, not a very nice man. I know he was generous, but that doesn't compensate for his over bearing narcissism, and sense of entitlement.

@@mizzprettyhuston I'll be honest; I can't understand why Anita Wood said in an interview in 2005 that Elvis was the most handsome she had ever seen before or since. If you look at the family picture of Anita with her husband and children, he was a very handsome, distinguished looking man. Don't forget Elvis had a lot of work done on his face. If you look at his high school, picture he was covered with acne, the kind that leaves scars.

No woman made Elvis what he was. Bull crap. His parents, of course, made him and raised him right. He had great manners and respect for all, including the media. Just listen to any interview he did in his life time. He had the talents, looks, fashion, dance moves, most handsome man ever and stage presence. No one to this day can match him. I disagree with you on that about ann , she broke him and Priscilla up with all her flirting and wanting him so bad, she ran after him and Priscilla finally left for someone who would give her love and not be lonely...I don't agree with some things she did but he was with different women every night...I only regret I wasn't one of them..
