Hi everyone! This is episode six of my Tunisia series, where I'm back in Tunis, the capital.
In this video, I explore a variety of market areas in the city. I start off in and around the Place de Barcelone, a major area of the city where the outdoor markets feature everything from clothes to shoes to household products.
After exploring these local markets, I head to the medina where I explore various alleys and drift through several people on a busy day - in my previous vlog on Tunis (episode one), most of the shops in the medina were closed as it was a Sunday. These parts of the vlogs are mostly "silent" in order for you to experience the sounds of the hustle and bustle in this part of town.
After exploring the markets in the medina, I stumble across another market that appears to be semi open-air, with clothes and shoes galore. I don't think I have ever seen so many shoes in one place! I then head back to the city through the medina where I make some non-verbal observations about life in the medina.
Finally, I explore a few parts of the city including the cathedral (Cathedral of St Vincent de Paul and St Olivia of Palermo), the Tunis Clock Tower (Avenue Habib Bourguiba Clocktower), and the statue of Habib Bourguiba (the first president of Tunisia).
