Wow. I thought I was just plain effing crazy. Then I was diagnosed at the age of 33. It took me another two years to accept it. Those two years were full of suicide attempts and other insanity. I do not understand why any system would put themself in danger by making a public thing like youtube or tiktok based on it. I never know who to believe or not. The only one I have no doubts about is Multiplicity and Me. I’m so happy for them achieving fusion.

I was 34 when I was officially diagnosed. Multiplicity and Me is the real deal I agree with this 100%. The majority of people with genuine multiplicity don't parade their alters on camera like some bizarre sideshow. They don't sell merch of their alters. They don't do 'alter introductions' or 'round robin' taste tests. I never thought I'd live long enough to see a disorder that stole my childhood and was nearly fatal become a "trend".

As someone suffered with D.I.D, it is quite hurtful the misinformation that is going around, as well as the fake claiming on system because of fakers. However, knowing those whom use Tiktok whom have D.I.D also, it's inspiring to know I am not alone with this disorder. For a long time, I suffered alone and in silence, with no good representation. But there are some whom are truthful about it, whom inspire us not to be so afraid anymore of something that wasn't our fault. Thought I just share. Also to all these people saying you have to be consistently in fear or panic or shame to have D.I.D..That doesn't make sense. How you expect anyone with D.I.D to live a semi functional existence, if you believe they have to be always in fear or shame over something they didn't cause. I'm just saying that sounds like a unhealthy outlook for people whom already suffer enough.

As someone who suffers from D.I.D, and who is married for over 12 years, it does not always end messy; and you can be happily married.. Yes my husband isnt very knowledgable in D.I.D, but that never stops him from being supportive when it is needed. He treats me and my alters with love, and patiences. While this isnt every system, I wanted to share to break the stigma Wonderland is spreading about D.I.D and relationships, it is very possible to be married to someone whom doesnt have the disorder, and does not always end messy as they say. (To add, no I didnt tell my other half I had D.I.D straight off, I waited a year of us dating, before I finally let him know. I say this because it is important that you trust someone, before you tell them something about you that is big; like your mental health, cause one you know how they'll react, and you dont know if your gonna be together down the line.)

you're also totally correct about that doctor that pulled out a DSM to diagnose. i went through 2 days of 8-hour testing everyday and months of waiting for results to get a diagnosis, and that's after years of working on the symptoms themselves in therapy. it takes lots of dissociation treatment to even realize the presence of fractured parts, and some of the waiting is simply waiting to reach the age where the average person would've grown into their full identity. lots of 14-16 year olds' brains haven't developed fully enough to "know who they are" yet, so when a 16 year old says they have DID, it often will subside as they age and their brain develops a sense of self, as we all do in our teenage years. waiting until 18-19 to even mention the possibility of a dissociative disorder with fractured identity states is just good practice for doctors. you simply have to wait and see if it goes away before a diagnostic process should even begin

As a person with D.I.D who was diagnosed and took the time to get second options from many doctors. It took me several years to come to terms with the fact that i have this disorder. My mind was completely boggled learning i actually have this disorder. Due to me getting to a point of just thinking the disorder wasn't even truly a disorder due to such little information on it. I can say even after having this disorder for years I only have 3 Alters that i am / friends and family and doctors have seen. I really gets under my skin of people kinda taking the disorder to a cutesy level. I've had to overcome many things due to the disorder. 1 example is i cannot drive. I've loved cars and motor bikes since i was young and the fact that i can not drive due to my amnesia really makes me upset. Also just the "switching" as people call it but to me i feel physically sick when it happens. It is not a cute quirky disorder and it hurts to see so many people show it as what feels like a party trick. I enjoyed your take and opinions on this video. Much love

I agree. It also seems so ungrateful to have a normal brain and fake like they don’t. I’d give anything for a childhood that didn’t screw my brain up. I can drive most of the time, but there are times that I have someone else drive me because I’m so dissociated. DID sucks. Don’t know why anyone thinks this is quirky or looks fun. It can put you in dangerous and embarrassing situations. Actually living with DID is hard. F these buttheads.

As a pagan, that Tulpa hate came so out of left field for me 😭 I didn’t even know people with DID were even discussing them! I can only assume the kids in the DID community learned the word and are appropriating it and using it totally differently and that’s why they responded the way they did, because as someone who only knows the true definition of tulpas, their response made absolutely no sense. An alter is a fragmented part of your own brain, a tulpa is an autonomous spiritual being created from energy. It’s got nothing to do with DID, it’s literally a spiritual belief 😭 Calling it invalid cause it’s not a true system is WILD! It’s not supposed to be a system! I don’t blame the person in the video though, the fact that they’re responding that way can only mean that’s now a word the kids are using improperly. It’s just so baffling (as someone who’s not in the DID sphere and actually has knowledge and respect for these religious beliefs) to hear it talked about like this.

0:20 most people with tics do apologize for them. yes, you are pretty much constantly saying sorry. the reason we apologize is because they arent socially acceptable and the other person knows it was a tic without directly saying that. plus there's a lot of misconceptions about tics. a lot of people think it's how you truly feel or what you think which isnt the case so that can also cause us to say sorry as a way to say "this isn't me". not only that but there is trauma that can come along with it. it takes a lot of work to stop yourself from saying sorry.

I wish I was joking saying this but unfortunately I’m not. My cousin is 16 and after the lockdowns when they all returned to school she had 4 girls in her class, one identifying as an animal? Apparently all her alters are japanese or Korean as well (she’s a white Irish kid lol) stg tiktok straight up ruining kids now honestly. Edit to add: obviously not an insult to anyone who genuinely suffers with DID symptoms or tourettes, it’s just bizarre to me that kids would want to identify with such an illness that literally controls and has the possibility to ruin people’s confidence and lives.

The thing is, these teens who are faking it for attention probably do have some underlying issues. Why would they need attention? Are they lonely, being bullied? Teenage years can also suck because everyone is very judgmental and everyone wants to stand out. I think girls face this especially, and the 'not like the other girls' trend is proof of that. Most of them are also still kids, they probably don't have the best sense of awareness that what they're doing is harmful I don't condone the actions of these people who are faking being a system, but I don't think we should be completely villainizing these people. They're just teenagers after all. And they'll probably grow out of this phase anyway
@alexfraze12087

Okay, so: Thinking you have D.I.D. and faking it is its own disorder. Do you know what reality checking is? It's extremely dangerous if not done by a professional who knows the steps to wake a patient up to reality - especially in the case in which someone is lying to themselves at this level. Being a random person on the internet witnessing another random person on the Internet does not give you the qualifications, the experience, the education, or the authority to diagnose someone (or even assume/speculate if they do or don't have a disorder). Much less many people at once. This rhetoric reminds me of transphobic rhetoric from the 2010s. There is not one way to present as a system. If you have not evaluated them as a professional with professional experience, you quite literally have no capability to form a fact-based opinion. All you've done is assumed, which makes an ass out of you.

@johmlemon532
@johmlemon532 2 месяца назад
Yes personally if I had anything like DID I know I would feel shameful, just like I’d imagine you do with tics, and just like how I actually do with autism. Having autism causes me to have little understanding of what is socially acceptable. Every time I try a new outfit, different makeup, make a joke in public, anything that people could judge me for, I feel terrified that what I’m doing actually isn’t socially acceptable at all. That people will think I’m weird, or hate me. Because I have so little understanding of what is normal and what isn’t, I try to be “normal”, but I still want to be myself. But I fear that being myself isn’t good enough, and I am ashamed of the way I behave, not because I’ve necessarily done anything, but because I feel like I’m being annoying.

I was diagnosed young at 16, and still don’t have fully formed alters now, It took me months to get a diagnosis and still to this day I don’t have a full understanding of how my own diagnosis works. It’s scary and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, and I’m scared to even talk about it because of all the misinformation on it and the fear of being called out. I still haven’t come to terms with having did, It’s easier to just say I’m crazy and hope it will go away. I’m in therapy but even still I can’t reach out to anyone around me out of fear that I won’t be believed. Faking disorders causes harm and then when people don’t have fully formed alters or a whole lot of knowledge even when they have the disorder they’re called out for faking because of how fakers make the disorder appear to work. I’m still young and learning about my own diagnosis and trying to learn to accept it. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone and as of right now I can only hope it’ll get easier as I get older. Without fully formed alters you lose chunks of time and just never feel right it’s not easy yo explain and maybe it feels the same with fully formed ones but I don’t know, I’ve never experienced it. I can only speak from my experience and I just want to say it’s not a positive experience and for those faking it and making it seems like people have such a good understanding and separation between alters especially so young you’re causing harm and spreading misinformation to people who actually have the disorder. I know every case is different and I don’t wanna call anyone out because of that but this is my experience. It’s a lot of confusion, missing time, and fear.

@k0chum
@k0chum Год назад
@@Mike-th8um I see your point. OSDD/DID and dissociative disorders in general are widely misunderstood and stigmatized by both society as a whole, and even some mental health professionals. As someone going through trauma therapy and dealing with a fractured identity, I can assure you these disorders, and the experiences of people struggling with them are *very* real. I do feel like some portrayals are sensationalized, exaggerated, etc. but there are people who have been traumatized so heavily, it’s easy to believe they could be fractured into hundreds of identities. When every day of your childhood is a war, a child’s mind might need to assign thoughts/feelings/actions/trauma to other identities simply to emotionally survive the experiences. Granted, these kinds of disorders typically progress over time rather than get better (if untreated), so younger people will typically experience milder symptoms, whereas diagnosing DID is more common in older people. Teenagers and people in their 20s are less likely to have fully developed alternate states of personality, it’s more commonly seen in people after their late 20s, and 30s. From what I’ve read. This is all new to me if I’m being completely honest. But as these disorders are born from trauma, they are often present differently for different people since their bodies and minds react uniquely to traumatic experiences. That’s why two people can go through the same things and one develop dissociative disorder(s) and one doesn’t.

My alters are not fully formed and I don’t understand most of it. I had A LOT of trauma. I found out kinda by accident and challenged many professionals on the idea of me having it. I have no clue on amount of alters, jobs or anything… I just started trying to research more to understand myself more.

Hiya, DID system twice diagnosed by medical professionals here. The thing that was said by the person in the clip towards the beginning about DID presentation is not necessarily true, especially with teenagers. Teenagers can present with fully separated and differentiated alters. I wish the person had done more research (especially if they're a singlet), or talked to multiple medical professionals (not just the one) before jumping to the conclusion and posting that all teenagers claiming to have "full did" are lying. That one comment was quite jarring to us. Timestamp: 1:45

polyfragmentation means more than complex alters or more than 'x' amount of alters, it means theres a complex innerworld and complex and multifaceted alter roles with many types of amnesia ranging from no amnesia between some parts and full amnesia between other parts. it usually stems from trauma that is so harmful to the child that they not only split, but the brain says that they *must* split *multiples* at a time to survive. i am a professionally diagnosed polyfragmented DID system, so all of this is from my own experience and with experience with friends who are polyfragmended as well.

It just feels like people are LARPing characters they've made up to help cope with things they can't handle in life on their own. When it comes to reactions to food intolerances being different, symptoms can vary based on one's state of mind. If one is anxious, they're more likely to feel more intense symptoms or feel things that aren't really there. Psychosomatic. So, if you're LARPing as a character that is more self-assured and less afraid of the intolerance symptoms, you'll feel it less. People don't have actual human (or non human) souls inhabiting the same body. People who claim to have POC alters in a white body for example are really problematic because that alter is always based on the perception of that ethnicity by the white host and will not/can not have the lived experience that would connect them to their culture. So why mention them being POC at all? It just goes back to the harmful "inner black girl" trope people use to excuse themselves of acting like that perceived stereotypical behavior of being sassy. Do I believe DID exists? Yes. I believe a person can compartmentalize or split off aspects of a single personality and sort of "change" into that personality to cope with traumatic situations. I do not believe they are self-aware, contained people with histories/races/cultures outside of the realm of the host. Genders are an exception since all people can experience gender roles and feel different ways about them. I think people are very creative and need to play TTRPGs with the characters they create. Those characters aren't real though. But I guess if it helps, believing that people live in your body with you, there's not a lot of harm in it. Unless you start using your "alters" as an excuse to get away with harmful actions/behaviors.
@puppytopartnertraining
@puppytopartnertraining Год назад
I feel this I feel like people sometimes are using DID as an excuse to embody "characters" which the single personality they have, have just made up. And not obtained through the extensive process of non integration as a child due to trauma building amnesiac walls separating the identity parts of a child. And in reality they know all these details because they made them up. I still have no idea of some of my parts other than their names and what they look like because they have been through so much that they don't talk about themselves or feel comfortable being near the front of our consciousness. I still can't admit that there is more than me in my head let alone share such detailed things about myself and them. Not to mention that it's so easy to embody a "alter" on camera but to have it last past the camera being off is another story. Plus she never shows proof of her diagnosis or input from family or friends. And anyone can learn the lingo and run with it. While acting out "parts". Idk I can't even get comfortable telling anyone outside of my close circle about my DID because of fear of people thinking I'm faking despite sometimes being a completely different person just acting like me, for my comfort, in front of them. My opinion. Thanks if you read.

Alters often form based on things that you found comforting when the traumas take place, that's actually why nonhuman alters or even fictional characters or real people. These are things they found comfort in. In polyfragmented systems they happen when a system continues to experience trauma after the point their DID formed (there has to have been repeated trauma before the age of ten for DID to form)

i feel like alot of these teens and young adults would really do better just trying to use tulpas to cope instead of pretending to have disorders they dont understand.... thats how i cope with my trauma, the most important comfort characters of mine became my tulpas and theyve helped me feel alot less lonely and isolated. tulpas are basically just imaginary friends, but more concrete and theyre more like their own people, just vibing in your headspace. people that arent systems can have inner worlds, like you said in the video most of them tend to be created intentionally for theraputic purposes, and thats where your tulpas can hang out when youre not interacting with them and stuff. its fun, its calming, and its improved my mental health alot. i cant imagine wanting to BE my tulpas though, i dont think they would appreciate that much, considering theyre their own people to me, but hey, thats just my own experience. idk if other people actually treat their tulpas like real people lmao, lmk if im cringe or whatever, i just thought my opinion was neat and worthy of sharing haha

In my years on Planet Earth, I have met one person who had a real problem with 'being different people at different times'. I am unsure of any diagnosis she received, but she was messed up. She was facing prison time because her 'alt' was a compulsive thief. She herself was not a thief or anything like it, she was a cool person with a big heart. The thefts that she undertook as her 'alternate personality' made no sense. For instance, she might steal hundreds of kilograms of dog food, never having had a dog. Or perhaps she would steal a consignment of 20 zookeeper's uniforms. Her reasons for doing so made as much sense to us as they did to her; she had no idea why her alternate personality would steal such things. It was completely out of her hands. I remember reading some of her court documents to her, and she was just laughing at how absurd her criminal actions were. They were absurd, but very serious. There was nothing anybody could really do, not any of us, and certainly not her. I had a terrible feeling that the system was going to treat her poorly for the simple fact that it was impossible for her to be genuinely sorry for something that she herself had not actually done. It was a tricky situation. It was all very sad, and I hope she managed to stay out of prison because she was a good person.

They watched a RU-vid tutorial and now wears eyeliner. Great. Then, when Mike is fronting, Mike will likely experience this amnesia phenomenon that happens when people “switch” and have no idea what Sam was up to when Sam was fronting. Mike doesn’t remember that RU-vid tutorial. How can Mike possibly remember how to use eyeliner? See what I mean? Idk 🤷

Lol. (Though it does have 4 MAIN characters) Anyway, it has a shitload of characters. Including all the side characters, there’s like, 107 of them. And I can never remember them all, either. The notion that this person possibly had 274 alters, and when they switched alters, that alter was able to remember who the other 273 were, is wild. Also, isn’t it my understanding that certain alters are possibly NOT aware of the other alters / the inner world the rest of the alters are part of? I don’t know. 274 alters just doesn’t seem to make sense. I’m sure it’s possible in an extremely, extremely traumatized person, but as we can see from this video and the information provided, it’s pretty clear that this person is faking.

A therapist once told me that alters and stuff can surface earlier, like in the teens, when they’re in a safer environment and the brain can decide to let loose ig? Like “oh you’re safe? Here, deal with all this we’ve been saving for ya” Dealing with ptsd myself, that’s kinda what happened with my flashbacks. I have dissociative symotoms. While trying to understand this I found this person and others in their brand of DID content, and I thought ‘god I hope I don’t have this diagnosis. I do not want to be lumped in with this.’ I still don’t know for sure if I have the diagnosis because it takes it so long to manifest and my symptoms have changed in recent years, including becoming more frequent. I have learned through actual professionals that the actual disorder is much harder to recognize as your symptoms/alters often try to blend as to stay hidden from you and others. The disorder revolves around hiding trauma from yourself and often others, and while some will one day just introduce themselves as a different person, it’s not how most people end up in therapy. It’s a lot of lapses in awareness and hearing people say you seemed off in some way, and ending up places you didn’t plan on going, with no memory of why you went there. It is actually quite scary to experience. Now, if a therapist says that dressing your alters up and making videos to educate people is healthy, then it probably is for that individual. But there is no talk about ‘I just do this for videos because you can’t just change 5 times a day and I try not to draw attention to it’ or ‘my therapist agrees that this is helping me deal with what is often a painful and terrifying disorder but some people may not benefit from this.’ It makes the whole thing look like it’s just a fun experience that people should want to have, like imaginary friends you can become for a few hrs. Trauma disorders are not fun. They are maladaptive if they warrant a diagnosis. I think I’m some cases these people do believe they have it and it’s actually some sort of psychosis or they have fictitious disorder syndrome, or they do experience some other form of dissociation from some other trauma disorder and have influenced these symptoms to escalate. But some really just seem like they want to have it because they think it’s fun, and that’s the vibe I get here.

Only about a minute and a bit in and at around 1:25 ; a blanket statement is made that every teenager is faking it because of XYZ. That's not true. Depending on how significant the trauma during childhood; it's very much possible that a person becomes very fragmented before they even enter their 20s. And we also haven't had the best understanding of the condition until now so people who have had it for decades are only really getting diagnosed because of the better understanding and then a few other nuances. I just wouldn't say a blanket statement like that. That all teens who say they have it are definitely lying. Because that's not at all true. Is it more often diagnosed later in life? Yes. Does it mean that younger people with it are lying? No. In fact, symptoms of DID can appear in children less than 10 years of age. I don’t know where on Earth this person got their research from but it’s just wrong and it’s genuinely possibly dangerous misinformation to say something like that. Especially for a condition that people already deny having because of a whole barrage of reasons. And they can go untreated as a result. And early detection of anything is crucial in planning for the future.

I think it is possible to have an idea that you're a system in teenagehood, but you'll probably not be able to get a diagnosis for it that early on. You most likely won't have ANY idea what's going on until later on because the disorder tries to hide itself from you to protect you. We had no idea we were a system until it was something we literally could not ignore. The loss of time, realizing there's a lot we don't actually remember, having thoughts with voices or ideas or morals separate from your own, etc. It is so difficult to get diagnosed because this disorder is still not understood well and because there is so much stigma surrounding it. I don't believe you need a diagnosis to figure it out, but like. I just don't believe them when they say they have one :/ and I don't think people should be treating this person like they are the end all be all spokesperson on DID at such a young age. I sure as hell know that I wouldn't want to have all that pressure or eyes on me that young describing in detail a disorder that impacts every aspect of my life. Talking about these things are fine and you're obviously allowed to share these things, but man I would not be doing that on tiktok. They seem like a nice person and are probably plural in some way because it seems they believe it so wholeheartedly, but I think they need to step back from the internet and focus on healing and understanding themselves and the disorder before spreading misinformation or putting themself in the position to recieve death threats like they've gotten :(

i have DID symptoms, talked to my therapist about it, and eventually got diagnosed with severe DPDR disorder or depersonalization derealization disorder. its pretty easy, from multiple personal experiences, to mistake certain disorders with others. in my personal experiences i have OCD "traits" but i dont have ocd. i have bipolar "traits" but i have MDD. theres lots of overlapping within mental disorders because we are human after all and symptoms will always combine and collide. its best not to jump to conclusions but to look through other perspectives. diagnoses are just clusters of symptoms with a name. its best to understand yourself as an individual than try to fit into a box. its ok to feel out of place and lost. theres no need to force yourself someplace you dont belong, like into a cluster of symptoms, just to fit in somewhere.

Some writers write out stutters as “Th-that’s not t-t-t-true…” which, FYI, is not how stutters usually work. Kids who are still learning how to read talk like that, but typically, stutters are more like: “that… that’s not… not true.” Repeating a word they are struggling saying or fumbling over numerous times. (Anyone who does have a stutter, feel free to correct me. I know it presents itself in different ways, but I think you’ll find that you agree with my final point.) Heres the thing, im a person with a diagnosed PD and multiple other mood disorders (and not DID). I think strong and unapologetic criticism of very obvious fakers for something like DID is more in favor of real patients than harmful for them. I understand why fake-claiming can be harmful. But thresholds are subjective to the climate of any given time. I think given todays climate, critique for DID ✨️content✨️ creators (including and especially dissociadid and the likes) is important. It, i hope, doesn't harm real patients, but supports them from fetishism, taboo, sensationalization etc.

What I don't understand is how all these people with "DID" are aware of the situation they're in when switching (ex. dissociadid in that one interview). The whole point of the brain splitting personalities is to protect the main one from trauma. So 1. switching would only occur during traumatic situations and 2. the main host should have NO memory of what happened during that situation and vice versa. And yet dissociadid and other fake did people switch willingly and during non-traumatic situations. And she even carried on with the interview with no memory loss.... I believe DID is real, but not anything like what these fake DIDers explain it is. I believe some of the fake DIDers may have actually had DID in the PAST and are just clinging to their diagnosis despite not having it anymore.

my personal weird take about the wonderland system is that, they change they're appearance everytime a different alter fronts, though it is possible because maybe the alter wants to try and look more like themselves when they front, especially if the system is more open, but this.. oh.. they just changed their entire appearance, from dying their hair and everything, also with that many alters i though they could just be wearing a wig, i don't think they are wearing a wig at all, yeah that's my comment for now ^_^

9:30 It’s also possible for alters themselves to split! You can also have alters appear without ever being fully fledged, and will often fade overtime, or hang around. With Fictives/Factives, often I believe their alters like before, weren’t necessarily fully fledged. Then latch onto a comfort character as an identity! I don’t have this but I believe they are valid! Also, look up Jennifer Haynes, the woman with 2500 personalities! It’s a good watch if you want to learn about her story with D.I.D.! (Edit: Funny thing too, despite it being called Dissociative IDENTITY disorder, our feelings on our identity is actually very far away. Even after being diagnosed for years, it definitely hasn’t gotten better)

9:30 It is possible to gain multiple alters in a short time spam However, as you said, that usually happens if you're going through severe trauma Sometimes it can happen from an alter having a fixation on a character or a person in real life as the brain wants to help cope with the trauma they have causing a fictive/factive/splitroject to form I may be wrong with this, so don't take my word for granted I hope this helps with your question though ^^

This happened to my partner system over the course of a few months once they started accepting their diagnosis (years after originally being diagnosed). We are not diagnosed yet, trying to get a diagnosis, but this is just so so harmful. When we were 10 we had a huge hyperfixation on learning about disorders and stumbled upon DID/OSDD. When we went deep into the research we realized that we matched most of the symptoms. Didn’t think much of it and thought we probably had schizophrenia or a psychotic disorder (we have visual and auditory hallucinations. We know when they aren’t hallucinations because when we communicate it feels like a whole other consciousness). But no. It took us like two/three years to comprehend that it wasn’t just hallucinations. We’re turning 14 (bodily) soon and the host is honestly scared. This isn’t fun or quirky. It’s genuinely scary. A bunch of us aren’t even fully formed. Someone could kill us one day or harm someone else. It’s not all fun and games. The identity alteration plays a huge part, so does derealization. It feels like you’re not yourself, like your sense of self and reality is deteriorating in front of you, and it’s horrifying. Thank you for making this. -Mikey

I think you cant be diagnosted as a teeneger because into the age of 25+ your brains are still very fluid and addaptive. No one have a personality cristalized at this point in life. Somehow similar to ASPD being not a diagnost in teens because they can 'outgrown it' or not. However what i really fear from that tik tok trend is that teens are just convinced they have it and are welcoming the symtomes and even amplifing it and i think many might get the disorder as adults in full agonizing true form, witch is never funny and cute but very distressefull.

What i don't understand is why none of the tik tok DID sufferers experience paid when switching & why they all can "feel" a switch comin on enough to where they can record it. Having researched (a little) i know you don't switch unless triggered & a trigger can be a sound, a scent, or something bigger like an unexpected touch from an unexpected person, for example. And the true sufferers have a lot of other illnesses alongside & because of DID that cause a lot of pain, something no tik tok DID "sufferer" seems to have. I also don't think a lot of them have thought about this long term or what it'll be like trying to get a job in a few years. It looks exhausting imo, having to not only remember which "alter" you are from hour to hour but also remembering to tic vocally & physically if you're claiming to have tourretts too, which i've seen many of them do. Sorry for my massive comment it just upsets me cus true sufferers of DID BPD (i myself have BPD as well as depression, CPTSD, anxiety, anger management problems, CHT, AHT & 2 things that naturally mess with your mental health is insomnia & sleepwalking so i'm a bit of a mixed bag basket case 👍🏻🤪👍🏻) thank you to anyone that read my book length comment 👋🏻 Byeee!

Alter-egos are kinda different from actual alters among people with DID. No, you cannot get rid of ALTERS, but alter-egos, sure. DEPENDING on the situation. If you don’t have any particular disorder, and rather, just find yourself acting as though you have two different personalities (maybe because you act different around different people, etc,) you can get rid of it. Mostly, it’s a lot self reflection and thinking about who you really are, rather than pretending to be a different person in different situations. It’s like… a self discovery journey. Yeah.

I am a rather large OSDD system(~40), the body is also a teenager I think the reason that in the past Dissociative disorders only came to light in the middle ages was a result of the fact that it was harder to get information on these things. I think the fact that we had so many resources even from our tweens helped us learn and adapt faster to be able to recognize what we were: a system I think invalidating every system who happens to be younger is a little misguided although I agree with being skeptical of systems online because of all the fakers out there. Some things that don't automatically make a system invalid: -Headspaces/Inner worlds -Lots of alters, polyfragmented systems are valid -Diagnosed/figured out young -Alters dating (or having any number of relationships) -Fictives, factives and introjects in general and much much more This disorder is complicated and every case is bound to be different, I agree wonderland is suspicious but saying things like "they're 18 so they're faking" or "the DSM-5 is what people say to sound smart" can be stigmatizing Edit: 9:30 Polyfragmented systems are systems that split frequently and abundantly leading systems of upward of 100 alters to be possible, and sometimes two or more alters spit at once so gaining so many in that time can be possible if they were stressed out of going through the process of dealing with truama. During a stressful time my system also gained about 15-20 new alters in less than 4 months because we were being faced with our abuser so yes it is possible and your info was correct :-)

That alter may appear that way in the headspace, but typically, when that alter is fronting, their conscious thoughts will be AWARE that their body is white (no matter how they may appear in the headspace) and that they will never have to experience what people of colour actually experience due to this fact. I saw a few comments from people who actually have DID stating that this is what they think, as well
