For the big veins you used darmstandart or standart on high intensity small size?

If you were taking this through animation and rendering how would you capture that high frequency surface detail? Displacement or normal map?

probabaly as displacement if it is VFX or Normal if it is more in-game stuff. it really depends on the requirements of the project.
