The Woodlands is nice, but the best shopping area in Houston is the Uptown section of the city. The Woodlands is a nice get away from the city!

My first Bob Dylan and Paul Simon concert was right there in woodlands Pavillon. I think it was ‘99 or ‘00 not sure anyhow woodlands was beautiful back than as much as now. I’m in cleveland now but dreaming of moving back

The Woodlands is not part of Houston, it's a stand alone, well planned town community, and we like it that way.

It is considered part of the City of Houston jurisdiction and MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area). Parts of it is even in Harris County.

For someone that was born and raised in NC and lived 10 years in Atlanta, it boggles my mined that trees are a premium in Texas🤣. All kidding aside, I love Texas!

Yeah the further west you go in the United States, the fewer natural trees and forests of the type you will find. Houston is kind of the last place you will find trees like that when headed through the southwest.

Great vids. Just tell me, how is it with the rain there. Considering relocating. I know there is a rain season. Is it like what i have read.. like six months of it? Does that mean daily? Will look for your reply, thanks.

I have lived in the woodlands all my life and can say that no there is not a 6 month period where it rains almost everyday. More like 2-4 times a month. Of course it will rain more in the spring and summer but we do tend to get plenty of rain through the holidays even. The past few years we have even had some snow around January or February. Overall when it does rain though it will come down pretty fast so flooding is an issue depending on where you live.

Men I grew up in Houston and I’m in toronto now !! For 500K you don’t even get a studio condo in Toronto !! Gosh, I miss H-town but it’s just not a walkable city..

I’m moving to Canada from Alaska. I once was considering moving to Houston but that heat would be just too much for me. And the murder rate in 2021 in Houston alone is high.

Yes I moved my family to Houston but it wasnt from the riots we just love the south and Houston so I started a real estate team here and love it!!

I wanted to move to Vancouver, WA so I was following your channel in Portland, OR. My wife vetoed that. One of the places we are looking at is Texas. We are looking at somewhere near the coast. I would love to have a place on the beach or in a harbor with a boat dock. I had one on the northern side of Corpus Christi about eight years ago. A lot with room to add a modular home would be awesome. Any ideas?

Corpus Christi will have a nicer water, but Galveston Island and areas nearby have both oceanfront and more of a bayfront and even canal front options, with access to amenities, hospital etc. Not too far from Houston. Kemah is further inland. A popular place, but Covid ruined everything. But if you do come, don’t vote the way people vote in Washington and Oregon if you don’t want Texas to turn into Portland and Seattle.

Ash, there are a lot of condos going up down a revitalized area along Washington. Not far from there is the extremely pricey River Oaks. Those neighborhoods are inside the loop. If you situate yourself somewhere between downtown and the Galleria, or either of those and the medical center, you will be in close shot of a lot of things. The Rice University area has old and beautiful homes of different sizes. Again, inside the loop. There are some nice neighborhoods not far from Memorial Drive outside the loop, and that road will take you right down into downtown in a scenic way. Historical also… That’s how they used to drive the cattle into town. That area is north of the Galleria. Not much further west is a large area referred to as Memorial. Very settled, ancient trees, easy access to downtown.

Don’t move to Houston. Check out the murder rate for Houston, not Texas but Houston in 2021. And people are getting robbed daily.

Only very little part of The Woodlands flood, generally it doesnt flood there. It is a great community.

Willowbrook? Willowbrook has become part of the hood now, just like practically everything else on 1960. It was nice 30 years ago, but I would only go there now if I was armed.

@@KB-ke3fi Try some areas in Grogan's Mill or Panther Creek Village. These are the oldest villages in The Woodlands, but still pretty! There is a neighboring community called Shenandoah that's bordering The Woodlands. It's an older community and very reasonably priced. Homes rarely come up for sale there.

Because people from the west coast are coming here in droves and paying crazy money for their houses, so they sell em for 10 times what they bought it for (say from 30 years ago) or retiring or old age and downsizing, that's most of it.
