One of my friends asked me if I could help him to cut some planks. Obvioulsy I said yes right away. We had a lot of fun on that day. Here's what we did.

Alain, you really should get yourself a peavey like mine. You can roll a log the size of your biggest one all by yourself. How did cutting that silver maple and ash compare with cutting cherry?

I know I looked for one at the flee market last summer, I found several but they looked cheap compared to yours, but it's on my list of tools to buy that's for sure

Ok this is nice ..but what kind of wood did you cut from farm and what kind of wood did he have?

both were ash. the darn emerald ash borer killed his tree, mine were uprooted by a storm as you saw..

@@LgosseuxDbois-TheWoodpecker air dried ash can be difficult to plane as it really tears. Looks nice though. Probably best if he has his kiln dried to kill bugs

I made my mitre station with ash and the gas stove top also and I had no problem with tearing.
