While we don’t typically associate cities with world-class waves, there are a handful of cities around the globe that offer all the comforts and conveniences of modern life, right next to amazing waves. This video takes a look at some of these places! As always, thanks for the support guys! I look forward to sharing more videos :)

good stuff mate! I would like to add Porto, Portugal and Florianopolis, Brazil to that list. Those are great cities to live as surfer too.

As a San Diegan, I love proper surf cities and I've been to all these except Sydney. Tokyo is very underrated as a surf city, you can get to the beach (Shonan) very easily via train and surfboards are welcome onboard as long as they're in a bag. If you live in between Shonan and Tokyo, it's 30 minutes to each via train.

Was just in Peniche and Lisbon. Waves were fun. Lisbon and Porto are great walking cities, and ahead of the curve with vegan restaurants.

Great video! Living in Lisbon, I have to say that it is indeed a great place to be as a surfer, although the cost of living is not as low as it was in the past and housing prices are now ridiculously high for the Portuguese standards

I wouldn’t recommend LA so much as I would a few hours south. California is giant, like huge, and people often forget that you can’t just hop from Malibu to San Diego. I’d recommend Orange County or San Diego. I was born and raised in this area and it has to be the most consistent place on the planet for surf

Love your stuff 10X. But I’m going to troll you for lumping LA, San Diego, OC, and the north swell spots in Santa Barbara into one surf city. Come on bro!! Give California two designations on this list 😊 (And keep up the great content)

Oahu south shore summer seasons are usually very underwhelming, we are lucky to get waves over 3 to 4 feet one time each month in the summer (unless you go to bowls where the swell is magnified and usually a foot or two bigger than any other spot on a given day). This month in particular has been non stop pretty solid swell but it is looking like after this swell hitting now it is going to go dead for the foreseeable future up to about three weeks. Really good for longboarders but if you are a shortboarder I wouldn’t even bother coming to Oahu during summer. Btw you should turn on the bowls cam some time in these next few days on the higher tide of the day and see how good that wave is!!

Durban, South Africa. If you can earn foreign currency you’ll live very comfortably. Great waves in town, as well as on both north and south coasts of the city.

Even tho San Jose Costa Rica is not by the beach I am considering moving there because of how relatively close it is to so many good spots. An hour drive to Playa Hermosa sounds good to me. What do you think?

San Diego should definitely be on the list as it destroys LA in all catagories pretty much, and certainly in the surf category
