I’m Portuguese. Our cuisine is humble and about enjoying our food. do whatever you want with our dishes as long as you enjoy them! Go crazy, don’t listen to the snobs who think creativity shouldn’t be a thing but don’t even cook
You should do a “50 state Grilled cheese” series. Make 1 grilled cheese that represents the flavors of each state. I’m from Louisiana and i think some kind of pepperjack grilled cheese with cajun seasoning on french bread based off of a Po-boy would be a good representation for it.
I'm honored to inspire so many Cheddar Children. You are all amazing and I can't believe we are already over 800k. I never ever thought 1 million subscribers was a possibility
You are the bravest person in the world. And not because you tried to turn Portuguese food into grilled cheese sandwiches, but because you managed to offend 90% of Portugal by saying you don't like Francesinhas and Bacalhau. Careful on the streets my friend 😂🙏 RIP my friend (jk obviously)
As an Indian-American, for your next vid you should travel to India! There’s a lot of interesting and unique flavors there that you could use to make a grilled cheese.
In Denmark we have this thing called “smørrebrød” which is basically like an open sandwich and i think it could have some good grilles cheese potential, just a suggestion
Thank you! We have a LOT more coming. Starting in mid February I'll be starting a huge trip where I'll be traveling to many new countries and making many more episodes of this series 😊
Love the video, great editing! I've never been to Portugal but there is a portuguese restaurant that makes a dish called Bacalao com nata, that is a cheesy potato gratin with bacalao and it is delicious!
@@Chef__Tyler oh hey chef Tyler btw I decided to set a timer for 12:00 am (when Christmas Day is supposed to happen) right now there should be 10 hours and 43 minutes left and I was wondering if you decided to set a timer for Christmas Day today
as a portuguese person i got triggered when you said francesinhas were "just ok" hahah, but the video was sick and im happy you visited! its weird seeing our little corner nobody speaks of getting visited hahah ❤
Ngl tho, Mexico has a beautiful diversity of cheese, and most of our dishes incorporate cheese in some way, but. I would love to see what you could come up with. Like a mole grilled cheese or something
I am also lactose intolerant mildly. Aged cheese is not problem at all. When rennet is added to milk to make cheese the lactose content is greatly reduced. Some is left in the whey and some lactose is converted to lactic acid. During aging the bacteria finish the job by consuming almost all the remaining lactose. 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thank you! We've been growing super quickly and I'm so grateful to everyone who has subscribed. You all are making my dreams possible and I can't thank you enough. Thanks for being here since 30K 🧀🧀🧀🧀
Sir, if you happen to travel to Japan, please try making a curry grilled cheese sandwich! I bet the cheese and flavorful spices would taste lovely together. ❤
😂👌Reading this comment section is kinda cringe. Dude went into a country he didn’t know, without much guidance, and did exactly what he set out to do, what he does. Spent his earned money, and created great entertaining content as a tourist and shed light on a different culture and it’s cuisine. Not to mention, some of the recipes he tried have been around for almost 900 years! Pretty much unchanged, or unaltered in an effort to preserve it’s authenticity. Most people couldn’t even fathom that our country was around for 349 years before SPAIN, another old European country, was even established or recognized as a country. To put that into a perspective… In Contrast, the United States has been around 248 years as of this upcoming 4th of July. Just to put into concept, that you’re eating a part of history, when you visit certain restaurants overseas. It’s not that it was always the best tasting, but it’s how it was traditionally done, so these places still use the same old cooking methods, pots, and recipes. And yes we’re very proud of that… That being said, dry over salted fish, SUCKS 🙃😬 I enjoyed the video tho
As a Frenchman that loves cheeses, i can confirm that when you age cheeses they do in fact become lactonse free to the point i tested this on lactose intolerant friends and they had no issues so what he is saying is 100% true.
It all looks quite good! But here (im from spain but I assume its the same with portugal) we dont cook eggs with olive oil, its flavour is too strong for it, we use sunflower oil. Olice oil is more for steaks and salads :)
Ask for a "croissant misto prensado" next time. It's basically a "tosta mista", but the croissant elevates it. 😋 Warning: Portuguese croissants have a brioche-like dough (don't try this at home with French croissants xD).
@@Chef__Tyler ive only just seen this bro🤣I was watching it thinking how has nobody told him🙄probably the first sort of grilled cheese sandwich I tried too
Was this a Portugal refference ? What the fuck is as decent non corrupt government ?!?!?! RAHHHH. Nah but fr was not expecting this video, let alone my beautiful country of Portugal to be the main star ? Hope you keep this format and do several countries, cheers !
Hi, chef, there's a lot of variety in making grilled chees sandwiches however the first time I saw an octopus grilled cheese sandwich I think that an octopus is a type of fish because octopuses live underwater has eight legs and gigantic eyes I can't believe people will be eating grilled cheese sandwich this video is helpful for everyone thanks.
Hey, you HAVE TO come to Spain and try our cheese, we have literally THOUSANDS of very different kinds of cheeses and most of them are cured and lactose free. PLEASE you TRY THESE they are sooo good
