What happens to the performance of a 1S whoop when you make it HALF the weight of a typical BNF? Let me show you! It's pretty amazing! Links and custom tune below...
You can also follow me on Instagram to see what I'm up to. I post pretty often these day:

The Easy Way to Build (but not as light):
If you want an easy build, just get a Meteor65 or Mobula6 and swap the parts onto a 75mm frame with 40mm props. Try 19,000KV or 19,500KV combined with my custom tune. It will be good, but not as good as my 16.8g version. For that, you'll have to build it up from components (see below):
- Meteor65 BNF (from BetaFPV: bit.ly/2KvavJT, from GetFPV: bit.ly/2QtWpvZ)
- Mobula6 (bit.ly/3mInNTI, or bit.ly/2wGRtw7)
Full Parts List (as seen in this video):
- Mobula7 V2 Frame (bit.ly/3eg3MRr, or bit.ly/3kGqm8m)
- Happymodel EX0802 19,000KV Motors (bit.ly/366Jnej, or bit.ly/2TIDAFH)
WARNING: The EX0802 motor wires are just barely long enough. Do not cut them shorter! You will need every mm of wire. I suggest pulling them out of the connector and then cutting off the crimped part, preserving as much of the wire length as possible.
- BetaFPV F4 1S FC (the one I used) (bit.ly/3mLDHwZ, or bit.ly/2m2JX9e)
- Alternative FC: BetaFPV F4 1S FC with built in VTX (bit.ly/360DJtO)
- Alternative FC: CrazyBee F4 Lite 1S FC with built in VTX (bit.ly/34JB8oG, bit.ly/2H3XJjq)
- HQ 1.6x1.6x4 Props w/ 1mm shaft (bit.ly/3mGOqbP, or bit.ly/2TD6Rln)
- Runcam Nano3 Camera (bit.ly/39w6QFK)
- NamelessRC Nano VTX (bit.ly/30VLksU)
- E6000 Glue (amzn.to/358DX3m)
- U.FL extensions cut to make custom VTX antenna (amzn.to/2UoTOFg)
- RENY M1.4 4mm motor screws (bit.ly/2P0JOzT)
ESC Setup:
- Flash JESC v2.3 with 48kHZ PWM
- Startup Power = 1.0
- Demag Compensation = High
- Motor Timing = Medium High
- Enable Bi-directional DSHOT (small fee for H-type ESCs, free for L-type)

I fly a Mavic Mini and this clip reminded me of what it feels like being at a bar, sitting next to an F-18 pilot, and knowing the most exotic plane I've ever flown is a Cessna 172. And most of my time was in a 150. The actual footage, indoors and out was mind-blowing. I laughed out loud the first time it went under your chair in the backyard. And... you built it. Very impressive.

You meant that as a joke, but it is sadly true. I'm from the future, trust me.
@calvinatdrifterstudio8438
@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 3 года назад
Don't worry - the FAA doesn't care about fpv drones less than a few lbs. They are genuinely concerned about safety with larger drones colliding. Even egregious 'violoations' are just met with a phone call. They aren't going to fine you unless you are literally racing in a runway. Also, covered area like inside a home aren't legally controlled by the FAA. The FAA has no incentive to fine regular people and they almost never do it.
@RydalS
@RydalS 3 года назад
@@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 so you're saying we don't need to obey the rules as long as they're not enforced.
@calvinatdrifterstudio8438
@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 3 года назад
@@RydalS I'm saying that just because there is a fence, doesn't mean you are trespassing when you stick you finger through it. The FAA has to draw a line somewhere. The motivation is because they need legal ground to stand on when someone is doing FPV over a runway.

Thank you sooo much! I've flown my 65mm whoop since a year and I liked it but I always wanted more power and controll to do indoor freestyle. I almost bought an 2S 85mm powerwhoop but thank God that I found your video before that. It flies amazing. I love everything about it. The sound is so much nicer than on the 65mm at the same weight. So much control and throttle resolution is incredible.

Absolutely amazing!!!!! I’m sure your probably on this but I’d like to bring it up just in case you didn’t think of it. Solder joints : You probably already thought of this but here goes. The only way I see that you can take more weight from these builds is low weight solder joints. Less solder used to build or possibly there is lighter solder?????? At this weight every little bit helps as you have said👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌

New to the hobby, this was my first build and oh boy this thing rips!!! I have not done any tuning or setup bidirectional dshot/RPM filtering. Ended up using the CrazyBee X V2.2 F4 200mW VTX AIO board and came in at 19.1 grams **need those RENY screws**. I got around a 5:40 hover test with a 300mah battery! Thanks for sharing your build and pushing the hobby forward!

Have sourced bits for similar build. Plan to make assembled electronics removeable from the topside. Not wanting to spend $20 on Remy screws, so plan to use 8x tippet & flyfishing knot to secure each motor :-) Need to compromise weight a tad to work with stock TBS Tango transmitter which is so nice for traveling.

Great Video Quads are not my thing, But watch this video all the way to the end as it was interesting seeing how you saved weight improved prop efficiency making choices on different boards and motors and tweaking the programing of the board. Even removing plugs, sockets and insulation from the wire. Which is similar to what would be done for indoor flying planes. To get the best out of a airframe. Loved it.
