England does follow the US militarily. The Chinese old man was correct. He is not nationalistic, most Chinese feel threatened by the US. They might not say it to your face because they are polite.
I’m American and didn’t take offense to what he was saying. The politicians that control my country are essentially trying to carry out a cuban missile crisis type conflict in Taiwan and increase military presence in the South China Sea. If China was guilty of 1% of the military posturing that the G7 countries are then the entire west would be crying for war
Chinese government NEVER promote hatrad towards any people and country, you NEVER hear such things on official media. There are nationalists on social media, but if they making lies against other country, as West always do, they would be banned.
Unfortunately, the old man is correct. The UK sides with the US to spread anti China propaganda. Just think about it, we’ve been brought up and brainwashed in the west telling us how bad it is in China everyday to the point I used to hate China. But now I’ve seen the light and started receiving news from a variety of sources and make up my own mind instead of blindly believing every news that is fed to me. The presenter (Harry?) needs to take a different perspective instead of dismissing him as an old nationalistic man - which he is not.
Definitely appreciating these videos, I got my bell notification turned on for these! Loved seeing the comparison, it really shows the insane amount of progress China makes with these projects. I think it would be cool if you did more comparisons like that, revisiting certain areas and compare them to XX years ago. Could make for an interesting series too.
Another brilliant urban adventure video. Like another yt Katherine Journey to The East, your videos are raw, genuine look into the day to day lives of the common people. We use to have a independent film maker in Sydney in the 90s intetviewing ordinary people about their lives. It was called Front up. Something missing in story tell in today's media. There was a small taste of this. If you can capture this, it's a potential for syndication. Just my thoughts. The world I'd missing good communicators like Shadoe Stevens when he told stories on American Top 40, this can be similarly on your exploration of urban landscape in China. Good luck and looking forward to your next adventures.
He merely said English people are racist and follow the USA, and that Chinese are not and do not. How is that "nationalist"? Those are factual statements.
I cut out a lot of the convo I was stood there for about 20 minutes. Don’t try and tell me China isn’t a very Nationalist place/country. I’m not saying it’s wrong I’m just stating what it is.
@@harryj7330 very nationalistic the Chinese are and I approve them. You are not the first Brit to be in China if you know your history. You should make videos about how Nationalistic the Chinese are, and warn the west not to mess with the Chinese or else.
@@harryj7330 i am not telling you what to do. I am happy you show your honest feelings, and I am happy the Chinese are honest with their feelings. It is better than just pretend that we have world peace.
@@alanOHALANIsn't it China is the one EXPANDING? China has a lot of issues with its neighbors in terms of territories. Besides, without the West where would China be? The West gave China their hands but the Chinese wanted to have everything! Now China wanted to control the Western Pacific!
Nice video! I wonder how many of those buildings and how much of the road network was constructed within one year of the previous video. In Nanjing whole new areas seem to pop up in a matter of months, it’s crazy to see.
G'day Harry. It is good that you are able to bring to the audiences the grungy part of Chongqing instead of the sometimes sanitised streets of Chinese cities. Hope you continue to do so and love it as you interact with the locals. Shame there are still a bit of places where rubbish are strewn all over the place. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe.
Hey Harry, came across your vids and definitely appreciate them. I will be in China next semester for exchange and really like the interactions and places you go to. 谢谢你
China is really a country where if you build it, they will come kind of places. This is one way to stimulate the economy: invest in infrastructure first, then leave the rest of the development to the people. You don't see this taught in western economic schools.
which is weird because we used to do this in the west as well... half the london subway system started out by connecting small hamlets out in the countryside that then grew into large suburbs thanks to the easy transit access to the city, in fact the railway companies often made their money back by buying up land around the stations before they were built and then selling it off once the growing demand had made it far more valuable
I saw a video showing a railway station in LA recently opened in a well devloped surrounding but no one goes there people say its a waste its of no use no commercial establishments residents are rich they dont need train its difficult to imagine why it was built just a waste of money, and then he said its not China😂
You are not in China, so you don't understand. Except for a small part of the blockade, there is no social infection in other areas, so you don't even have to wear a mask or worry about infection
Well that's the problem of old people across the whole world... I believe most young people are either friendly, in the worst case somewhat ignorant (no dislike nor like) to foreign people. I am Chinese studying in the UK as well and most young people are very friendly. Only some elderly people might have stereotypical views but I rarely get that as well.
Because he was trying to explain to me how we weren't friends based on government. He came across very anti westerner due to how the UK and USA government interacts with the CCP. Nothing to do with me standing there in front of him in that moment. That's why
Yeah I've seen another guy (must be Chinese) doing similar videos and his videos really blew up. He films in a kind of secret way though which I'm not such a fan of. I'm also not sure how I feel about the whole "massage parlour" focused titles and thumbnails but its obviously working if clicks is the goal. Its a shame but that's what gets people clicking on the vids.
Interesting so I googled the two cities. Tokyo was a fishing village till 1600 AD, got it’s name, 5,194 square miles, city proper population is 13.5 million, but expand to metropolitan is 37.8 million people. Chongqing history goes back to 581 AD, has been the capital for many kingdoms, 31,791 square miles big, city proper population is 32.1 million people. It’s the most populated city in China, more people than Shanghai and Beijing. India Delhi and Indonesia Jakarta have huge population too and exceed Chongqing population also in metropolitan count.
I really dislike the CCP, but I feel like this is a great idea to build a subway station in those rural areas and build around it instead of waiting to retrofit those in and spend alot more money after area is developed.
Not sure whom CCP you are referring to. If you mean The Communist Party of China, CPC, they are the ones alleviating 800 million of its people out of absolute poverty, to eat 3 meals a day with roof for housing with plumbing, and education for children is not a bad thing. The Government looks after its people not politications corrupted by wealth as in US and other western government.
Who cares if you like CCP or not? There are so many CCP haters in the west world but that doesn't prevent CCP from leading their people to create the greatest wonders in the world.
@@bldomain That happens quite often if you watch a vloger from western country travelling in China. When the Chinese older dudes find out he/she is from US/UK, they will directly speak out their political opinion / attitude to you. That's pretty hilarious to watch, though.
@@bidoof22 They are expressing their frustration politely but openly. If enough English people protest their government's actions, things might change for the better.
