Volvos have saved me twice from other people's driving failures. I was able to walk away from both accidents relatively unhurt compared to what could have happened.
Volvo is the safest car in the world!and, it has been voted the world's most comfortable car in the world!Volvo S80 comes in 2012 with the car can drive without having either to control, gas and gear! it does EVERYTHING himself! I love Volvo!
The majority of vehicles produced nowadays means that you can walk away from the majority of common accidents, but I see your point. Volvo is a very safe manufacturer.
@Juan Fernandez Valle a volvo enginner (nils )made the first 3 point safety belt and volvo made the 3 point safety belt public to other car companies to make their cars safe as well. Thank volvo for the 3 point safety belt.
Impressive. You guys should really work on your marketing though, particularly in China, one of your major potential market. I spend weeks convincing my dad the fact that Volvo has invested tons of time to improve the safety rating of the car, including all the crash tests, hazard free material and air filtering and City safety system which is good for him, because I worry about him as he turns older, he would not be sharp as before, but he is still not convinced, he said Volvo is a not well known brand in China, and everyone is buying VW passat so why should him play differently. His logic is how would he know the quality of Volvo if all his friends are not driving it. Eventually I gave up. This is your imminent problem. Cars to men is just like cosmetics to women, if she is using Dior, I will too. Bring down the price, extend your marketing, perfect your after sale service. VW passat is not better, but cheaper, and more popular and more focused on what China want. Come down to China, and do some in depth research, China is a rising market that is too big to be neglected.
+Hao Liu Very interesting to read. Thank you for sharing. How would you say things has changed for Volvo in China today when it comes to marketing and establishment?
What does it matter if its a chinese owner. The brand is still Swedish, producing cars in Sweden (exept for the chinese marked) R&D, design, crash test, headquarters, ALL in Gothernburg Sweden. And this comment is a year old. Lets check out the brand new Volvo v40. Worlds first with pedestrian airbag. It has adaptive cruice control, autobreak, pedestrian detection in the dark, lane radars, blind spot warning, and so much more. It scored TOP scores in European safety test."remarkeble"their words.
@Mazotheman that's a good question, i made it up, but it could be true, there is no way to blame someone when a motorcycle just runs off the road, but if that's because a volvo/car swerved at the bike it's just by word of the biker. I gather my data from people's word on forums, and the general idea is to stay away from Volvos. Think about it, buying a car because it's safe makes you sound like a bad driver. That idea could be argued forever but I think all cars are safe now.
Not you again, seriously, it's not a weak frame if it means you can have a lorry crash into you at pretty much 5000mph and walk away unharmed, that's Volvo for you.
I love how, even with all of our modern technology, the best way to test a car's safety is just to fire it into a wall or car, or have a giant pendulum obliterate it. Probably just the scientists having a little fun :)
@extrs50 Not anymore, cause Volvo is owned by a Chinese company, and just go ahead and watch thier crash tests. Then think about what you've seen before you buy a brand new Volvo.
@serbetli100 sorry i disagree with you. the chinese even being new owners of Volvo would use volvos r&d to make Chinese cars safer... An indian company owns jaguar, a Malaysian company owns lotus, has that made any of these cars poorer off in quality or less safe?
You are you, why can't I use the word you to address you? It's not rude mate. Okay, if you wish, go ahead and explain about the video and vehicle. Why is the car unsafe?
