You need an even smaller sprocket or bigger wheels. Because you have the mini wheels the gear ratio is still too small.

I think your stability and control would improve greatly by using a little bigger street wheel such as Milk Racing 16 inch super moto set. It allows for some serious motorcycle tires too. Ultimately being in control like that would allow you to go much faster.....

I think you would find what your looking for if you ran the 14” mini moto’s, the 12’s are just too small for this type of setup. As it is now you need to still go a lot smaller on the rear sprocket.

ko motor are rated for 100V and controllers 84-100V so if you want the most powerful surron you probably need bigger battery. the motor will spin faster too, so will work better with big sprockets/small wheels like you have. will run more efficiently too with higher voltage/less amps for same power

@@isaiaharriola7055 I don't know all the extended battery configuration available for the surgeon..but you can have an 100V with less Ah that's gonna have similar kWh, similar size and power output, but will run the motor more efficiently especially in the top end, but will also allow short gearing without losing too much too speed. If you can't find on prebuilt to your exact spec you can DIY or custom order one. battery voltage and capacity/controller/motor/gearing/wheel size must all work together for best performance, but as a rule of thumb for high performance you want to have a battery voltage that matches the highest operating voltage of the motor. then battery power/amps that matches at least your desired power level. also enough capacity for desired range, taking into account more power and higher cruising speeds reduce range. them wheel size according to the type of riding road/off-road/stunt..and finally gearing compromise for torque/top speed and also to optimize range depending if your going to spend more time at lower speeds (short gearing for off road/stunt or city riidng, long gearing for comfortable highway cruising)

@@jimmy7391 it's natural and probably a subconscious mistake from seeing the moto-x riders do it when they take turns during their races. But in motorcycle class the instructor should advise not to do this. Mine did, but I already knew.

if it's still too torquey to keep the front wheel down then you need to keep downsizing the sprocket until the bottom end speed/torque feels like it hasn't been improved THEN you will see the improvement on the top end. if the big gain with this setup is torque then you need to convert that to speed with gear ratio. a ratio that would make your stock setup feel doggish and underpowered on the low end will feel normal with more torque on the new setup and allow you to see a higher top speed. & also if you were spinning a large tire that same speed you might have seen the 80mph you were looking for. hope you get her figured man 🤙🏽

Shrink the gear ratio. You'll have to sacrifice torque for top speed. The bumping from the motor in the top end could be the motor controller starting to lose control at it's top rpm.

The torque adds up to speed, the point is that you can run a really small sprocket which gives you more speed but the motor actually has enough torque to give you the power needed to continue that speed. The motor was surging cause you were tuning it past the motors comfortable rpm

If you running out of corner you have to counter steer her a tiny bit. When the front straightens slightly she'll lie down way more and may save yr butt! Learnt the hard way.. lol Now I know its saved me once or twice.

Try some forged tubeless rims for the rear tyre problem, a lot better handling although not useable off road as rims will dent

Hit the nail on the head, torque allows for smaller sprocket there for faster speed. Rpm is caped by voltage or frequency

The big sprocket allows much less torgue to turn. We run a 100 tooth sprocket on our snowmobile powered at drag bikes and they fly

Funny you talk about voltage, which is very true. However, if you have the option of flux weakening from your controller you can get better top speed, or even order a motor that's wound for higher rpm, instead of torque. I'm currently converting a KX250F to a supermoto style ebike with a 20kW hub motor. It will be starting as a 72v 200a, but will upgraded to a 96v 200a later to get that 20kW. I got mine wound in 5T, which has a top speed of 50-55mph at 72v, but the 96v will see 70mph. Had I got the motor wound in 3.5T it would do 70mph 72v or 90mph 96v, but it wouldn't have the same torque.

Try hook up the BAC controller to the ok motor and see what happens as the controller out puts may be diffrent and we have seen the BAC to be the best for along time until to the release of the KO controller. I would just try it and see what happens because you havent got an improvement yet other than the torque aswell as getting another video out of it.

I’m betting that you’re hitting the current limiter of the speed controller. Instead of a tune just go up one tooth on the sprocket or down a tooth on the motor pinion. Might find the sweet spot between tune and gearing.

The KO motor has an advantage for Torque and Heat dissipation, if you're a moto rider/trail/mountain rider then the KO motor would be good for you! if youre a wheelie guy and just want to do wheelie stunts and urban riding then the KO motor might just be a waste of money for you guys! If you want top speed then go with a small sprocket on the back and keep the wheels bigger... Im currently running 17'' supermotos with a 42 tooth sproket. i have the bac4000 and a bypassed stock battery. if i change the field weekening to 20% in my egg rider app i can get up to 55mph.. ON THE STOCK BATTERY!! however i keep the field weekening at 15% because i dont want to ruin the battery! cant wait for a 72v. i think ill just keep the motor stock, i dont see the point in the KO set up. i have a yz250 for that!

The reason it's choppy at full power is likely because of the battery not being able to give the controller enough power a lot of people will say different because the battery you have now has a lot of amperage but it's cutting in and out because at full power the voltage is dropping to much I would see about getting like a 100 volt battery

also worth mentioning that he's trying to test his runs with a phone.... the gps on your phone is no where near accurate enough to compare times like that.. you need something meant to do it like a dragy gps. Your phone could give you a half second difference on the exact same run depending on when it checks positions.

Bigger rear sprocket is more toque and top speed reduces. Smaller rear sprocket is less toque and increase in top speed. Front sprocket size will be the opposite effect to what the rear sprocket does.

Smaller sprocket again or bigger wheels should solve your problem. When ever you have plenty of low down torque and poor top end speed then it’s obvious you need one or a combination of both. I would guess the go cart racers would have a lot of experience with your situation.

Sur Ronster ? if you want more speed, you have to increase the voltage. to prove my point, if you take a DC power supply and a small toy DC motor. if you set the power supply voltage to 5 volts it will run at a low RPM, if you increase the voltage from 5 to 9 volts the motor RPMs will increase. also you have to do the math because I have a hub motor and controller that can run variable voltages up to a 120 volts.

If you have a lot of torque, you don't need a large sprocket, only way to go faster it's use smaller sprocket. I got 32t on my 4 geared motor, and it's enough for me, 300nm on first gear. Small wheel+big sprocket = more torque. Maybee, you have to much torque, just try biger wheels and small sprocket with this motor. Because number of turns of a motor is limited, so you can't go beyonde it's limits. Only play with gears ratio.

you're wrong about something there, voltage is directionalyl proportional to rpm on motors with the same KV value or winding impedance .KV is RPM per volt so the higher KV motors have higher rpm but less torque, lower KV will have more torque but less rpm. you have to adjust your gearing untill the motor is hitting its max rated load (current) or gets close to it to utilize its potential like 80% of the comments keep saying. I would put money on that motor being a lower KV but higher wattage motor than stock but you've got the thing geared too low and its revving out of its max torque range before you really get to take advantage of what it has to offer. GEAR IT UP FFS!!!!

Ive been looking at a doing a DIY scooter but finding parts is somewhat confusing. It's either really pricey high pro like this $2300 KO motor kit or a cheap $400 amazon kit that is junk with a controller that lights on fire when used. Is there a middle ground here?
